My Martian II 220 to 12-inch propellers conversion is almost ready. And it looks amazingly strange. What is it? Racer? Gimbal platform? WTF? At this point of a project, I call it a success. Not sure how it will handle the flight, but either way, it was a fancy and interesting piece of engineering.
Setup:
* Motors: EMAX GT2218/09 1100KV
* ESC: ZTW Spider 40A
* Flight controller: Matek F722-STD
* Camera: RunCam Easgle 2
* VTX: Matek VTX-HV
* Radio link: FrSky R9M transmitter and R9 Slim receiver
* Propellers: APC 12×4,5
* Weight: 1300g with battery
Oh, and it turned out that there is class for such big machines. It’s called X Class and apparently they are racing with them. Oh man, those X class drones…

This is quite an interesting project, man, shame about the issue in the flight video though, was it the motor mounts that failed and caused it to crash?
Hey man, this is a very nice project. Since you have a lot of space inside the frame pod, why don’t you use a 4 in 1 ESC and do all the wiring for the motors inside the arms carbon tubes? It will be a lot cleaner and will save you few grams.
Also, this is the kind of project that will be great with Li-ion batteries! A 4S3P pack of Sanyo or LG 18650 3.5Ah 10A will weight about the same as your 6A pack, but with lot more power!
