In Today’s video we learn how to put 6 cell batteries on 4 cell quadcopters. We even learn to do make it do both! And it’s all about how to properly set up a Output Limit. It is commonly known to put a throttle limit in order to get away with running a 6s battery on 4s motors. If something were to go wrong you could easily smoke your motors, or even your entire quad. Setting a output limit properly will prevent that from happening and allow you to have all the 6s fun you want on your 4s build!
We take it a step further and we learn how to set it up on auto profiles so that way you can still use your 4s rig to fly 4s batteries, no extra work needed, when you plug it in…. it automatically detects the voltage and adjusts to the correct profile for that battery’s cell count!!!! I know.. i know… that’s amazing!!!! Let’s Go!!

@DrainMan FPV Awesome vid! Subbed! I understood that one would also have to adjust PIDs to make high kv work with 6s properly. Is that not the case?
Also, could use this method to simply “lower” the kv of a given motor to behave exactly like it’s lower kv counterpart of the same motor – both on 6s. For example a 2806 comes in 1800kv and 1200kv options. Could you get the 1800kv and lower it to 1200kv and thereby have basically two motor types in one for longer range flying? 1800kv on 6s for more power and 1200kv for smooth cruising/distance at the flip of a switch.
