I have a suspicion that a 6S battery is going to have a longer lifespan because the amp draw is lower… If a 6S battery has a lifespan that’s 30% longer (just picking a number), but it only costs 15% more, then it’s a better deal.
Thevenin resistance explains why 6s is better. Basically higher voltage and less current is always better for dc circuits. I’d bet 6s will become affordable when 8s starts showing up. Lol
For sure the sag on a bigger battery is lower. I run 6s and 4s parallel on the same motor. I run throttle_limit at 50% on 6s getting a lower relative (*1,5) ampdraw with more power and speed. I think it is a bit more efficient. Who cares, go out flying!
I think how much longer the batteries last because you’re not pulling as many C is important too. I trashed my 4s packs in a month or 2, my 6s packs lasted for 6~ months before they went belad.

My 4s setup sounds like your 6s setup!
If a motor & ESC support 3-4s. On that case same mAh with 3s or 4s, which one has more flight time
5s on 2200kv is the sweet spot for me 😉
I am REALLY glad 6S is dropping in price. Now i can get great 3S at bargain prices. Yahoo. So when will 8S come out ? Chineese Philosophy ….always build in planned obcolescences to keep customers coming back …..
