The guys at the club were having an Assassin Wing Combat session and Thomas joined them with his Helix for some aerial shots. All the ground shots are done with a DSLR and the air to air shots are done with a Helix carrying a Foxeer Box. It’s actually not a bad camera at all. I still think the Session 5 is the best quality but for the price its pretty good.
This wasn’t intended as a review or anything, but rather just sharing the footage. It’s worth noting I didn’t do any sharpening, colour correction or apply any Luts etc to any of this footage. The colours from this camera remind me of the warmness of the Hero 2

Fixed-Wing things…, on bmsweb ?!?!?!
I thought that never happened any more (lol).
A couple of weeks ago I scored the first seat on the first bus, on the first guided tour on the first Open Day at the first (of 3) Windfarms up here to be completed to Stage-1…; ie 70 Turbines, each 121.5 Metres Rotor-Diameter standing 150 Metres to the top of the Disc, each one 2.5 Megawatts, so 175 Mw plus 50 Hectares of Solar Panels – adding another 20 Mw…. (Stage-2 means another 39 Turbines, bigger, rated at 3.5 & 4.7 Mw…., so it’ll almost double the Juiciness).
Of course, I wangled the Seat so as to make for better Video coverage, which turned out well in that all the Information-transfer from the Tourguide happened while driving out & back to spend 15 minutes under a Turbine….; so there’s 3 little short Teasers showing the Crowd buildup, then 3 vids covering the three phases of the Tour…
They’re Chinese-made Goldwind Turbines, the Windfarm is owned by Goldwind Australia, which is owned by Goldwind China, which is part-owned by the Chinese Government (!)..; and Australia contributed the Site, the welded & rolled Steel-Tube Towers, and the Concrete Footings…, and the Grid-Tie Transformer….
So, if you want to look at some really BIG Aerofoils, come & check them out..; there were 1,507 people in the Line behind me…

I love chasing fixed wing with a quad and getting air-to-air footage. So much fun, you forget all about the fact that there’s any ground below and it becomes a totally immersive experience where gravity no longer seems to apply… or maybe that’s just me 🙂
