In this video, I’ll decide what is the best resolution for FPV video, and I’ll show you why it is NOT the highest resolution (4k).
Purchase the GoPro Hero 5 Session here (affiliate link): http://amzn.to/2p5Hb02

And what this guy is saying fits pretty well with my knowledge of cameras:
To the research!!!! Daaaataaaaa!!!!!! Nice work Joshua. Keep up the great work.
Check out upcoming Yi 4K+ !! This action camera will record in 120 Mbit/s at max in 4k/60fps. Maybe this could be a game changer for 4K footage on racing drones 🙂
I got my session 5 from Fry’s less than a month ago, but do you know if I can buy the Amazon asurion plan for it? I’ve had an extremely difficult time trying to figure out how asurion works and if the plan has to be purchased with the product. Thank you.
ive recorded in 4k on my quad…. looks epic on my 4k laptop. rapes the sd card but looks way better then 2k or 1080p. i like your videos but i dont know why you bother doing these sorts of videos when you dont have the right tools to properly compare with. basically irrelevant if you have no idea how good 4k actually looks
Proof that it’s human!
YibidaYibidaYibida that’s all folks ?
Hey man! I’m back XD I can’t go fast forward with my Eachine Wizard X220… Everything is Stock so yeah… Do you know the problem?
Nice intro Joshua! Great info as always! I just use 1080P at 60FPS Superview with stabilization. It works pretty well for me. But I’m not expert at any of this Sh*t… LOL
please include bitrate of 1080p 60fps
The timing of this video could not have been better, I had just uploaded my first Hero5 Session video to YouTube: ( ) 1080p 60fps and was very disappointed with the quality. After taking your advice, I decided to learn a bit more about how the session as actually recording. Went back out to grab some more footage at the park, and when it came time to render the second .mp4 my problem was BITRATE! compare the two videos ( ), first was at 22-mbps second was maxed at 50-mbps. Major difference in the amount of “Boxiness” and sharpness of distant images. Next test will be 2.7k Cropped. Thanks Joshua!
hahahaha
Runcam 3 or Xiaomi yi with superview skript?
Greetings Mr. Bardwell,
In this video you never mentioned what SD Card (Class 10?) you are using? I’ve seen camera’s use lower bitrates due to SD cards not performing (and you mention something similar at 8:15). For this test (especially with the 4k), are you using a UHS-3 Micro SD Card? If not I would be very interested to see if the bitrate goes up.
Best Regards,
RC Haven
Hey Joshua, can u help me please with a very strange Blackbox logged crash?
Wonderful breakdown Josh! Love your channel! Wondering, Is this bitrate ceiling possibly effected by the SD card you are using? Have you considered this or is it fixed regardless? Which micro SD card are you using?
Thanks man! I’ve been waiting for you to do a video series on this. Look forward to the rest of it.
i get it. i get all of this. but your sending a super high res image and condensing it back to 1080. its all about the processing of these images back to the screen. if you have nothing native to view it on from its raw form. then. its shit. obvi. you need massive processing power and a viewing source that can output it. for youtube purposes we aint there yet. but i urge you to buy a 4k tv and watch it in raw format. your judging 4k on something you haven’t even seen it on yet…
