The BFPVRA held the 2016 Drone Racing Championship at Ragley Hall in Alcester, England on October 1st/2nd.
The main race in this video is footage of the Grand Final.
Wow this was a great time, yes I didn’t get to become Champion again but I had so much fun and it was an honour to fly with all the amazing pilots there so it was worth every moment, everyone involved showed the true spirit of FPV Drone Racing in the UK even in the face of cold and wet weather.
The first day was spent on practise heats followed by the first round of qualifying. Rain sadly held play for most of the day so the championship was shifted to the Sunday. The track was very technical and I loved every bit of it, it was interesting being confined by the net which you could not see most of the time but that added to the adrenaline.
Well done to all the other competitors and I thank you for the pleasure of flying with you all. The 2016 UK Champion is now the super skilled Banni UK with Gary Kent in 2nd, Brett Collis in 3rd, Leo Whittfield in 4th, JAB1a in 5th and Tom Stanton in 6th.
The quad I am flying is my Armattan SCX200, I have so much trust and confidence in the frame that it was my first choice to compete in the Championship-
Cicadas BLHeli S 20amp ESC (BB2 Version)-
I am using Acehe 1300mAh 75C 4s Lipos in this flight-
I am using Fatshark Dominator HD V2 goggles I purchased with confidence from FirstPersonView-
The track is mainly made by the awesome chaps at HoverSpeedRC who created some of the Gates and flags for this event-
Thank you to Rotor-Racing for making the event flow as always with professionalism and great spirit for fun-
The main photo at the end of the video and thumbnail was taken buy Jon Hall who kindly captured the fun of the weekend on camera, check out his other shots-
