Fpv spin today at the lagoon today with my very fast BO330. Was a very windy day so we tried for some fun speed runs. Good Ground speed reading of 140km/h on the first flight and then 150km/h on this flight. It’s obviously very windy but it’s still a crazy fast little machine and if anybody can get a faster fpv multirotor speed reading I would love to see it. This is by far my fastest reading so far for a multirotor and a good start to 2015.

what fpv camera do you use?
sony 600tvl board camera. Just a cheapy of ebay. They work fine.

Very neat to watch the high speeds eating up terrain.
Most already know this but for those who do not, the most accurate meausure
of aircraft top end speed performance is not groundspeed, but airspeed,
which is the crafts actual speed through the air, not over the ground which
can be greatly influenced by winds.
I would like to know this machines actual maximum airspeed in straight and
level stabilized flight. That gives others a more accurate idea of what to
shoot for in order to equal or improve upon it.
i look up fastest quadcopter and what do you know, team black out!
what device did you buy to get those reading of speed and altitude, etc.
-50 km/h when against the wind, +50 km/h with the wind on the fastest run.
I’d bet the top speed in windless conditions is somewhere around 100 km/h
i went to this multirotor fest in 2014 and there was a tricopter y that
went 110 mph.
Hopefully that person puts a video up of it in action one day.

Look up a guy called ‘finalglideaus’ Has a setup similar to mine but on 6s
he’s getting 158km/h easy with no wind. It’s amazing.

WOW! that is an amazing quad. You should setup an outside cam so when it

the leaderboards record for a while but that’s since been beaten by a guy

couple questions. how long does the flight time usually last and how much
did it cost?

the description but I would guess about $700ish not including the gopro.
I have never built a drone or know anything much about them other than very
basic stuff. So I have to do some work before I can make or control
something like this.

I think research and development in battery technology is going to push this hobby to insane levels in the next few years. Flights like this will become mainstay where pilots are not so constrained by battery capacity vs weight.

+SeekND FPV my 150 has been beaten plenty of times now. 168km/h is the fastest so far that I am aware of and according to the V5 leaderboards.

Judging by the GPS speed stats viewed on the OSD, I would say that this isn’t an accurate representation of speed but more about falling in style.. Using gravity doesn’t really qualify as speed..

A bit windy mate, a speed run is the average of going in both directions.
So your average top speed is about….. 80- 100kph.

hey I can fly alright a quadcopter I’ve been practicing on the eachin]d h8 mini and jjrc hexacopter h20. I have been looking at the jjrc 526w and the jxd 509g and most of my friends say hey the jxd because they say wifi fpv is bad. do you guys have any opinions on which one I should get or something else in the price range. the things I want in the quads are: not too hard to fly, a camera that can take some cool vids not a bad one but nothing to fancy and i want one that is relatively durable, and if it has fps thats also good, and i want one that can go pretty fast. thanks if you help me out: )
from the quads you mentioned definitly go with the jxd, if you want the fpv just to see what you film wifi isnt that bad, but when you actually want to fly by fpv it will be horrible….
if you need any help you can ask me, but I have never flown fpv, however I know alot about it since I really want to move to fpv, its just expensive so im saving up money 🙂

I think that’s the voltage sag when drawing a lot of amps. The OSD probably couldn’t keep up.

I don’t know if it sets a record for speed, but the video is at the top of the list for having the world’s most annoying audio track.
Actually, you could measure speed quite accurately without radar if you measure and mark out a distance, record the elapsed time to fly that distance and then apply some simple math.
