RC planes collide in mid-air (no winners)
A mid-air collision between an S800 Shadow foamie Wing and a Kyosho Calmato RC plane produced a shower of pieces and my MXP Element 5 racing drone decided to fall 100 feet onto the tarmac when the Turnigy A-spec battery dumped without warning.
Just another day flying RC planes and multirotors at the Tokoroa Airfield.

Sad to see the demise of a plane but it will always happen when your flying the whole sky without any kind of flying pattern bring on the next two
The tail of the blue airplane shows no sign at all of having been in a crash….how do you account for that? Looks like some sort of conspiracy going on here.
Crashed a skyshadow worse than that before. Used Goop to put it back together… stronger now than ever! That has some good foam that goes back together easily.
and if this was a 380 instead of a foamie, that would have meant 400+ people would have died. Think of the horrors.

I recall this happening at our flying field but it was before the days of FPV, two of us flying Multiplex Twinjets LOS and somehow we managed to collide head-on, despite a big sky 🙂 one battery escaped from the shell of the Twinjet and carried on flying…we found it about 150m away from where they collided!!

So it was YOU! Well, I would say with all that sky available, you two just ended up together in the same space because of an unknow force called RC dark matter. RC dark matter draws matter ( usually only things that use Radio control) into the same area resulting into an uncontrolled reaction that we cannot understand. Every atom in both RC vehicles suddenly become attracted to one another,no matter how far thay are away from one another. Sometimes, RC Dark matter gets trees confused with other RC vehicles,resulting in the attraction of RC and tree,resulting in pretty much the same results. I am currently doing a study on this series of events. I have better luck with the RC Dark matter and trees than other RC’s. Perhaps its the location where you are as opposed to the location of where I live. I never once considered Hemisphere as being in relation to this phenomenon. What do you think? Smashing results I think.

what were the observers doing that they failed to notice an impending collision ? Sure you had a dedicated observer for each pilot, required by CAA regulations while flying within 4km of an airport
