Today there were some winds and I thought I should test how well the Volantex RC 759-3 Phoenex 2400 2.4 meter wing span glider will perform in slight winds. It was absolutely a joy to fly this glider and it gave me very good gliding and soaring performance despite of less winds in the area. I had good climbs on lowest throttles and good soaring today.
Phoenix 2400 is a 2.4m wing span glider. With its new screwless glue free design you can easily add and remove the wings with provide locks. That makes it very easy to carry the glider to the field, assembly takes less than a minute and you can get to flight and soaring straight away. You can also remove the black canopy and reveal a small platform to mount your FPV gear and HD Cameras for FPV Flights. Phoenix 2400 offers plenty of flight time on a single 3S 2200mAh battery and flies absolutely fantastic. Being a 2.4m glider with lots of gliding and soaring ability, this makes it a really nice long range FPV glider. Brushless motor with 40A ESC and folding prop gives enough power for climbing and even for sports flying and aerobatics.
Phoenix 2400 offers absolutely an outstanding gliding and flight performance, fast sports flights and aerobatics performance. This is definitely a two thumbs up product for all Gliders lovers and or RC pilots looking for an easy to fly FPV Platform for long range FPV flights.

Nice one.
I ordered my Pheonix 2.4 in early February from BG. Still waiting. Have the Ranger2.4. Flies well, pilot terrible though. Have a Matek F405 wing in it. Telemetry via smartport to Taranis. 19 different telemetry items. I would be lost without the vario, altitude, ground speed, volts and current. Camber setup helps gliding and crow braking is very useful with wings of this size in ground effect. Also RTL is priceless with my old eyes.
My Pheonix2.4 will have a Matek F722 wing in it. I may do a setup video for flaps and crow braking with a flight controller.
Thanks for sharing your flight. I am looking forward to getting mine. Happy flying!!
It was hard to see at times but you done a fantastic flying Job my good friend, well done on the test and great video again ???
I have flown gliders when we had to use high starts to get them up in the air lol.. You don’t need your flaps on only for landing to slow it down. You are flying on a dull day, stay away from the river, most likely no thermals there. Fly along side of the river near the buildings or the road and look for lift there from the sun heating the land. Sunny days are the best for gliding. Slope soaring is another way to have fun. On a windy day, find a nice cliff or hill you can throw your glider off into the wind. You will be able to soar back and forth along the ridge and out about 30 meters in the bubble of wind hitting the ridge, and can fly all day or until you are tired right out LOL… Now going back to watch the rest of your video. Oh i wanted to add, you can see when the glider is in a thermal and rising from the ground or even fpv. One of those beeping things that tells you if you are rising or sinking I would not recommend because it will drive you crazy. lol .. Happy Gliding!!
Karachi kaab anay ka hai?
Always enjoy your videos!
I like glider RC much more that “jet RC” ….maybe because age factor …. lol
Nice! P.S. Upwind = Thermals, right? 🙂 Have you ever flown a DLG, why not make a video of that 🙂
