I worked for the company in question for 10 years and I am an photo enforcement expert. LOL I just stopped working for ATS/Verra Mobility recently. So here is what I remember off the top of my head about that camera. It does not use ground trigger for sure. It uses radar triggering. The bottom pod is the camera. Center is radar and top is flash. Now if the speed limit is 45mph the trigger would be 56mph. Now that being said the radar beam is very narrow to eliminate cross triggers. It is set at just 4 degrees wide and crosses the road in a specific spot so the speed calculations are more accurate. So in short there is not much chance that a drone could set it off even if it were going fast enough. In order to do it you would need to cross a very narrow spot in the road at a fast enough speed. I would also add that if you can find a camera that enforces a speed lower than 45mph. The trigger is 7mph over. You would have a much better chance.

You are using the wrong tool. The DJI is a Rolls Royce, not a racer. You should ask Joshua Bardwell for a hookup with someone who actually has a fast drone. I can’t remember the name but he had a guest that had a 200mph quad… Heck even some plug and fly racing quads can go over 100mph. If that’s not enough, there are some fixed wing drones that are getting close to 300mph. Seriously though, I have seen over 100mph for less than $500. It will not have a fancy gimble or 4k video and it will likely look like something cobbled together from scraps, but that’s also what most real race cars look like when they are building a reputation.
Gov. Abbot banned these cameras here in Texas last month (effective Sept 1), thank God! I was nailed by in a small town just outside Houston (where they have been banned for several years now).
Hmm. A couple of thoughts. What was the speed limit? If SL was 45, system is likely to record 10+ mph. Would the flash activate when the light outside is sufficient? Might try driving past at 10 MPH increments to see if it flashes for you :). Loved seeing Brandy again. Thanks for another fun video.
Get a racing quad… My QAV210 was clocked by the club at the field at 60 and I was only about 3/4 throttle..

You have to fly over the road. The sensor is pin pointed at a certain spot and your off center from that spot.
try a 5 inch race drone. I have one that will go almost 100mph.
