I think the deans connector saved you. I doubt that would have unplugged if it was a EC5 or XT90. If the battery had stayed connected and attached you would have been alot heavier for the remaining motors to carry/control and the battery weight was slung on the side that lost the motor making balance even harder/impossible. So while I am not a fan of deans (and I had a decade of using them) in this case it probably saved alot of your investment. Next time aim for the high grass when you crash and you might save a gimbal. :^)
