A few comments about Article 16 which may be useful….
Documented risk assessments are required for the reduced take off distance (15m) and for flying in a park in a built-up area.
Membership of the BMFA is £38pa and provides £25M Public Liability Insurance cover. FPV UK is £19.99pa with £5M PLI. NB You cannot fly commercially.
You can fly DJI drones such as the Mavic 2 under Article 16 but you cannot use any of the autonomous features during the flght (Follow Me, Waypoints, RTH,…). Not relevant to flying FPV but worth pointing out. (This has been confirmed by the CAA).
How did you do the spotter character, Paul? It’s cool and I could have fun with my students with that. The video is much appreciated.
Next to nobody (only BMFA Jobsworths) bothers with a spotter lol.
