In part 1 of the low-cost racing miniquad drone build video I look at the “bill of materials” needed to construct your own FPV racing mini quadcopter based on the ZMR250 frame.
Materials:
– the ZMR250 frame fiberglass version
or carbon version:
– DYS BE1806/2300KV motors from Banggood:
or from HobbyKing:
– HobbyKing Afro 12A ESC
– Gemfan 5×3 propellers from Banggood
or HobbyKing:
– Naze32 flight controller (unsoldered)
or pre-soldered:
– 600TVL SuperHAD II FPV camera with WDR from Surveilzone:
or from SecurityCamera2000
(Note: I will update this list shortly with more components and sources so don’t order just yet)
Bruce,
Can you update the parts list please?
I’d really like to get this build started.
I would love to build a mini 250. Could you let me know what are the parts
that I need to make an average one.
could you get 6030?
Hi Bruce!
What lens do you recommend for the Sony 600TVL camera?

working area something which can be seen on your table? Thank you in
advance…
Hey, I know your Budget Mini Quad build video has only been out for about a
month but I would like to ask some things before I go and start ordering
parts. I was planning on using a DEVO 7 transmitter with a co-responding
transmitter from walkera to do the build, would this be compatible with the
Naze32? I also need to know where I can find the battery that you used in
the build and what diameter of heat shrink tubing you used. Thanks for
creating this awesome build series, it has been really helpful and
informative.
Would be awesome to hear back, thanks!
what is the purpose for ubec or something like that, i heard for these
alfro escs you need to get ur own ubec?? can someone please help me
Still waiting for this list to be updated! Thanks! ;)
Thank you very much for such an informative series. I am looking forward to
your updated part list so that I can start buying parts. I have some
questions in mind as a beginner and I hope someone here will help to
answer. First one is which is better stabilization system KK2 v2.1 or
NAZE32? and I have flysky 9x radio with ER9x firmware. Can I use that radio
to fly quad or I have to get some expensive one. Thank you in advance.
Really enjoyed this series. Thank You!
Looking fwd to attempting this build, any news on the full parts list?
Hello,

1 x CC3D Flight Controller
4 x Emax MT2204 KV2300 Motor(2 CW and 2 CCW)
4 x Emax Simon K 12A ESC
4 x Gemfan 6030 Propeller
Anything else i miss out? Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Bruce! Do you have any recommendations for a budget Transmitter? I was
thinking about the Turnigy TGY-i6 from HobbyKing, seems good and has good
reviews. I mostly plan on ever flying 250 mini quads like the one in this
video series but I suppose someday I could venture into bigger
multirotors. I am hoping to keep it around $50 US including RX if possible
which is why the Turnigy looked good to me.
What do you recommend for a transmiter that is low budget
What is the top in cost for all that gear you just showed us mate?
$250?
If i want to buy EMAX MT1806 KV2280 Brushless Motors. Do i need to buy them
2x CW and 2x CCW or i can just buy them all CW and then just solder them
together with ESC by switching the middle wire with 2 motors?
Thanks!
I’m ordering, despite you not updating your list. :p
As a newb, I thought you said tyranosaur.
when are you going to update the parts list i am keen on building one
Can you please make some suggestions on batteries for this build.
Cool!
When are you going to update the parts list?
Great video series – thanks! Built my first quad following this and it
flies great! Perfect for practising with before investing in fancier more
exe models.
I really hope you soon will update the parts list, I’m itching for buying!!
These are a great set of tutorials, thanks for taking the time to make them.
One thing you didn’t mention (or I missed it) is a good cheap radio
controller. What would you suggest for a budget build if you don’t have
one?
What type of remote controller do I and where can Iget it?
really thx for this tutorial! Can you update the parts list in description
plz ? :)
if you don’t have a controller or something to view the video on, what
would work with the parts u’ve got here?
What fpv goggles do you recommend buying when starting out?
What size are the plastic standoff’s? I am just about to order and will
need them. can any one help please?
