bayngtoys has upgraded the x16 and looks like it will be updated again in the future once more with even more functions like follow me and surround me that is mentioned but not implemented in this version with gps. The brushless motors are powerful as before but the altitude hold version or the second version with wifi fpv had a weird jerky movement on the turns and dipped and sped up on full pitch but this one has been tweaked for a more smoother flying experience and the gps works fantastic!!!

Pete, I’m going to post my mod review for your guys because your x16 review is the best out there by far. One thing that really works awesome is the coat hanger landing legs, and this works on phantoms also. You can buy them at Walmart in all colors and they are the thin ones as they work better than thick ones and give more cushion and give perfect landings. I have never tipped over since this mod.

Hi Pete, you did not mention the trim tabs? also in all the vidoes on u tube nothing was said also, I think you would have to put it non gps mode and trim it or it would fight the gps??????????? I don’t know because I don’t have mine yet can you log onto this thread and answer this question?Thanks Ron
Your video makes all the other vids obsolete. My buddy was here in kingman az from Washington and saw my nabor with his dji phantom and fell in love with and purchased one from amazon. I fly very large sailplanes 134in to 154in woodies but never wanted a drone but got interested and did a lot of research and your vid was a no brainer as I was not wanting to spend a lot of money.So I ordered one from gearbest, The first thing I will do is change the battery conectors to deans as I can’t use thier battery charger would take forever to charge up, that way I can use my state of the art charger to charge in 10 min and use my spare 2200 3s for backup.I have a gopro 3 black with remote controller that I will set up. You know where I can get some male battery banana connectors. I have some extra batteries for my X16 but need to change the connectors.
As allways, very detailed review. As I told you, I have the X 21 I’ve never managed to calibrate. I still have hope cause I think this is a solid line of quads. Certainly don’t see them having any of the endless mystery nightmares the more “elaborate and expensive” birds are having. I just want a dependable camera platform with some decent range. ( 1/2 to 1 mile?) Looking for a follow up review on the X 21 from you??? Maybe?? Dan
If one has an older unit with the camera and FPV can you plug it into the newer GPS unit?
So do this mean I can buy this drone with no GPS and still have this functions or do I have to have this drone with GPS option to be able to use RTH and LVC in no GPS mode? I aske because this model comes in no GPS and with GPS.
