Beginners Guide: Non Altitude Hold Quadcopters – Admittedly it took me a lot longer at the beginning to learn to fly with a copter that had no altitude hold. After a matter of weeks i managed to do it quite well and so i thought every few weeks i would get a quadcopter on the channel that had no altitude hold so i could carry on and get better at flying. I always think the more you practise the better you will become.

Right, right, nice video! Definitely takes practice flying non-altitude hold quadcopters. One thing to keep in mind is how a quadcopter flys. Because it has no ailerons, quadcopters turn by varyng the speed of the motors, which your flight controller relays to the ESCs. With that being said, varying speed of motors results in the aircraft varying in height on a constant bases. One technique I use is what I call, because I really don’t know what else to call it, is chainsaw throttling! Basically, you’re not moving the throttle, left stick in a mode 2, up and down in one movement, but rather rapidly up and down in small increments to level out and maintain altitude. Hard to explain, but if you see your quadcopter going up and up, and you then throttle down in one move, that quadcopter will drop out of the sky, you’ll then throttle back up in one move and you’ll be yo-yoing the aircraft up and down out of the sky! Instead, throttle it down, then immediately chainsaw that throttle up and down, in small increments and feel out the altitude!
Trying to fly a furibee f36 without altitude hold im like a yoyo..Up,down,up,down…..I have a few cheap quadcopters I bought to play with….4 non altitude hold ones are 2 furibee f36’s and 2 BoldClash Bwhoop 03 pro’s…… 8 Altitude hold ones are 3 syma x20’s, 1 syma x21, 2 Boldclash Bwhoop 03 non pro versions, 1 Eachine E58 and a syma X5HC….
Cheers my brother, Great info for beginners
Nice mate!
Good job
Finally, thanks mate, I’ve never felt comfortable w/o altitude hold but it is something I feel I must learn to progress, got the day off and it’s officially “ altitude hold day “ I’m off to the pitch with extra batteries, super glue and a pint or two ?????
Awesome ? I own two altitude hold quadcopters and one with none. I am still quite bad without so this helped a lot. Thanks! Great channel as always.
Thank you so much JD this helps sooo much. And as always nice video.
Thx. This is really tricky.. So hard to yaw while keeping it steady with e010. Bad controller makes it even harder.
Thanks JD. Sounds like a great strategy.
Great video, could i convert my altitude Quadcopters to have altitude hold?
Hi my friend how fly with this bugs 3 without altitude hold I buy one but is almost impossible fly with this drone! Is dificult control this drone without altitude hold! please teach me!
