Altitude hold is a great feature of this quadcopter that aids in distant flying. It helps to discern if the quadcopter is approaching (moving higher above the horizon) or moving away (moving closer to the horizon). It also eases flying in that the quadcopter’s throttle control is automatic to maintain a steady altitude. Find the $224 CX-20 here

had a disaster with mine, only recently purchased via Banggood, did all the
calibrations possible, it flew like a bucking bronco heading for my bosses
car! so i landed it as soft and quickly as i could, it flipped over
breaking the compass assembly, so now in serious discussions with
Banggood……ah well….
Use a gatorade bottle lid or something like that to put the compass in.
Make sure it is as straight as possible. That is very common.

I crashed mine too into a couple of inches of water. Once it dried out, it
flew fine. Putting some noodle on the legs helps soften impacts.
Also shows up in the video…
Do you know of any quadcopters with fpv video that is hd and has at least
10 minutes of flight time that is under 200$?
Did you enable logging in Mission Planner before that flight? If so you
can check your logs to see what happened. This is where the CX-20 gets
interesting. I had a similar crash and decided to add telemetry to know my
exact HDOP and GPS fix. Now I can’t fly without it. I wouldn’t dare put
it into any GPS reliant mode without at least a 1.8 HDOP and 10 satellites.
There’s no way to know what you’ve got without telemetry and it can be
risky to enable Loiter or RTL simply based on a solid green light.
Hey quadcopters 101 long time no talk. I purchased this quadcopter a couple
of months ago and it was the most frustrating thing ever. So many problems
gradually started happening till one day the thing just flipped mid flight
and nearly landed on someone. Ever since that moment I gave up on the quad.
Maybe your circumstances may be different but from what you said in this
video I would keep your eye on it

Thanks for all the time you put in, I watch them all.
How does it fly compared to the Syma X8C?
Hi Quadcopter 101,
Lost my SYMA X5SC today, went to high altitude and the wind took it away
out of sight. If I had remembered to switch to headless mode, I may still
have possession of it. Heartbroken, my first quadcopter gone.
+flymoon24 I’ve had two of my X5C’s fly away in the wind. Luckily you can
replace just the quad for $30. The sad part is I lost a Mobius with the
last one. I need to modify the tx to increase range. Keep flying.
QC101 you have some excellent places to fly your quads…. And your videos
are always worth watching !

I love your videos, just to let you know someone has copied this:
You may want to report this?
+Ross RS Thanks for the heads up. I’ll take care of it.
I have been into RC for many years and my son got his X5C this Christmas
past. Since then I have ordered 5 more batteries, a multi charger and a
full set of motors. (One died). I saw the GPS models just after trying the
X5C and was in want ever since. I was under the impression that they would
be a lot easier to fly and control. Watching your videos has opened my eyes
to the value of learning to fly by eye before relying on a GPS to get it
home. Thanks. Summer is here and I take every opportunity to take it out
and fly it like an RC car or boat using the front as it was meant to be
instead of just flying it away from me and back again. LOL. I had to start
somewhere 😉 The side to side ability is unlike any other RC toy or hobby
RC except helicopter. Not going there now that these are out. I am just
pushing forward and flying around by rotating the quad. It’s hard to do
after running it into the house for a couple of months just learning to
hold it steady. I have to break my habit of strafing instead of turning it
around.
Love your videos and learning a lot from them.
The horror stories of this model flying away are deterring me from it, but
I have been looking at the V303 for a while now. I think it’s the one :).
Thanks again
I really suggest people don’t order with GearBest. They wont have items in
stock but wont show it on their site. They will let you order stuff even
though they don’t have it. It then takes 2-3 time longer than it should to
get it. I’m waiting on my Cheerson now because of these issues. The sent an
email saying it was shipped but when I question them on the time it was
taking they finally said it was shipped 13 days after that.
Great vid. As always. I have had mine for a few weeks and am having a great
time with it. I have not been able to do a calibration on it. I try
everything but it just won’t do iy. It’s smooth for the most part but
sometimes it gets quite jumpy. So many of us have one it would be a great
service if you would do a calibration video on the CX-20. I have learned so
much from your videos I believe this would help a ton of us with the “jumpy
” ones.
Thanks so much
