DJI Inspire 1 flight in maximum altitude03:51

Just wonder if you get any message you are losing signal or weak signal
from the RC on the way up.. I flew in unregulated airspace to 300+ m and
lost signal .. though some infrastructure is involved .. wear RC signal..on
display

great video ,thanks for sharing. I have a question, I’m new to the drone
scene and I have a Inspire 1 also. At about 500m, my ipad mini starts to
say “Weak RC Signal” Do I have a defective unit? I read some people say to
fly through it, but I’m always afraid to “fly through it.” I’m flying in
GPS mode

Awesome! I think 500 meters/1,700 feet must be the TRUE limit (no matter
what they say is the altitude limit as they are now “building the
in….this is my experience to back yours up!) You know, I don’t like doing
altitude testes with any of my quads or any of my aerial photography
machines (purchased or self-built) but when taking flight for the 3rd time,
I ALWAYS do an altitude test – I have a 5-step checklist that I do before
flying any of the equipment at the beginning (from take off/landing at
different altitudes in fast succession; to flying and landing with no gps
and getting the footage I had intended on capturing to ‘cross this off the
checklist’ and a few other things — BUT once i am on #5 of my list (the
list that has to be cleared by piloting the AP machines on my own in order
to get a fell and make it come naturally before i go utilize them for
anything else) #5 is full battery and fly it to discharge of 20% and then
land, and during that flight I do a full alt test and range test (and note
the range as well as the video transmission range so i have all stats on
hand) and as you said here that you got to 500 meters with your son, I got
to 1,700 feet during my altitude test and have done that two times at two
different locations on 2 different days – even though i have the limit set
for 500 feet to set off the warning “Maximum Altitude Reached” it can make
it very well to 500 meters/1,700 feet. I believe that it could reach even
further heights, but without a good video transmission to see what the
camera captures, you may be risking it for no good reason. So, that’s the
long way of saying I think that you and I (and only another person of whom
I am personally aware) has reached 500 meters… That must be the limit
before the channel signals get weak. Nice video! :)
