In this video we make an Arduino project that shows information usefull to climbers including temperature, pressure, and net altitude gained or lost.

Cool project, thanks
I guess the same could be done with RPi maybe even Zero 🙂 but I2C is outta ma league! ;D
Cool idea, you can run into memory probs quickly with the Nano/Uno but can substitute esp8266 or esp32. I would have included an sd card reader to this and have it record all that data as csv and then analyze on PC later 🙂
Arduino Tricorder – love long and perspire \// 🙂
lol that was a unique opening.
I guess that works on GPS. not air pressure? also is there enough left in the arduino. to make it do more?
just hope you don’t lose altitude to much to fast! I don’t like sudden stops!
I have so many ideas for the little displays. and arduino . so many projects. I know nothing about programing. I guess only thing to do. is get a hand full China made arduinos and put together a desktop PC. and just do it! right. wishing and wanting will only get you so far. so I guess after I get moved I’ll give it a go. I hope you will give me a hand when I burnt them all up. and work I g with the last one in the dozen! great video. great view!
peace brother. lolol
Need to try this one. Only need to walk for two or three minutes and I’m at sea level! Need to find a website with the barometric pressure. I take it this will need recalibrated every time it is used within reason?
That’s a good upgrade to the hiker’s friend. Now, how about adding a $7 Ublox GPS Module from Banggood to make it a complete system? Another good video. Thanks!
