This GPS drone may currently be the lowest priced GPS quadcopter with an included gimbal. It’s also extremely fast. Find it here http://shrsl.com/?~cgpz
This very capable quadcopter has actually been available for a couple years now. But only recently has its price dropped dramatically.
Pro’s
– Low price GPS quadcopter that comes with an included stabilized gimbal. Priced similar to the CX-20, 3D X8, and X380.
– Includes GPS position hold, altitude hold, headless mode, return to home/landing, and gimbal tilt control.
– Does not drop from the sky.Slowly descends to a landing when battery power gets low.
– Very fast quadcopter in altitude hold mode. Also extremely fast return to home.
Con’s
– Gimbal camera mount is sized for GoPros. Other cameras can fit, but may require some slight modifications of the mount to hold them securely.
– It seems to have an electronic fence set at about 200 meters. You see me bump into it at 11:59, from which I couldn’t proceed any further outward. Believe this can be modified to allow further distance, but am unsure how to do such at the moment.
– Requires FAA registration.

i have the runcam 2 (similar to runcam shape), would it be able to mount to
the gimbal?
Forgot to mention one thing in the video. It seems to have an electronic
fence set at about 200 meters. You see me repeatedly bump into it at 11:59
through 12:30, from which I couldn’t proceed any further outward. Believe
this can be modified to allow further distance, but am unsure how to do
such at the moment. For those of you familiar with the FreeX, was I really
experiencing a fence restriction, and if so, how do I turn it off?
I’d have to agree with Bill Somrak. I was going to buy one until I saw all
those glitches starting at 12:02 with the camera. I counted four times in
all. Alt hold doesn’t work well either. Flight times are stated at 15
minutes. Not even close. I’ll pass. However it was a good review 101. Thank
you.
101, I didn’t here what kind of range you were able to achieve. I think
specs say 1000m. Also is the battery compartment able to take a larger
battery ?
Thanks for the video. In comparison with the X380 and the CX 20 I am
thinking this is not something I would be very interested in for two
reasons.
#1 NO SUPPORT And Firmware Upgrades
#2 Obvious Glitchy Flight characteristics
Sorry but this one will have to be a bypass at best. Still Considering the
X380 and the CX-20
Great review, I had one of these but it was so sensitive and glitchy, if
the compass was not calibrated EVERY flight- even from the same location,
it would act very strangely. Great fun in alt hold and fast, as you found
out! Main reason I got rid was that the video had micro vibrations that
even a walkera G2-D gimbal could not iron out, it was as if the gains were
too high, I also noticed a sort of whistling sound from the motors which
seemed to correspond with the vibrations.
question 4 u getting ready to buy either the 003 or the mini Skull. drone
which one do you like better for indoor and out door use. thank you
Would be interested to see what you’d think of the Seraphi and Hornet S.
Similar quads to this in that they have quite sporty flight characteristics
in non GPS mode.
if you download the software from freex.com, that will let you set distance
and height plus some other things, watch alishanmao. i bought one in oct.
2014 for $399 but it came with a bad compass/gyro. the compass was 60
degrees off and my first flight ended in a flyaway. i suggest the long
landing gear or the camera lens hits the ground if its not completely
flat(in gravel and grass, etc. the lens will touch).DJI props and landing
gear will work and are a lot cheaper than freex parts. if you watch
alishanmao you will see this thing can take crashes no problem. hope this
helps.
yes indeed the metric system is actually used throughout the world and its
more accurate down to smallest sizes 🙂 thus why the rest of the world use
it.
It does check a lot of boxes for me. I wonder how it would do without the
gimbal and a runcam fpv setup? The big question is parts
availability/support? For $200 seems pretty decent, even if it didn’t have
GPS.
in my country (Indonesia) also available the FPV version.. which is include
transmitter that equipped with the LCD.. and with xiaomi yi as the bonus..
the price is about USD 540..
