Why is it so hard to hover an FPV racing drone? This video will go over all the reasons it’s hard to maintain altitude and hover, including some suggestions about how to fix it.
Thanks to Liftoff Drone Racing Simulator for building a model of my house so I can fly in the sim on days when it’s nasty outside. If you want to fly at my house, Liftoff is available on Steam at: https://store.steampowered.com/app/410340/Liftoff_FPV_Drone_Racing/
Thanks so much for the tutorial
Some body said with me. Practice alot with liffoff will make your skill go wrong with real life. Is is correct sir?
I’m a newb, but is it possible to mount a second fisheye camera facing backwards (maybe) and get both signals to the goggles? The fisheye could just be a horizontal slice and not the full image and put that in a small window.
LOS is one thing, its a whole different animal in FPV.
How many inches is that
Is there a firmware that enables us to hover automatically?
What would be required to add this feature?
The only way I can hover (and do it quite proficient) is if I don’t tilt the camera at all. With camera tilt set for freestyle or race, not a chance.
Wow, thank you this have been having similar problem in another sim.
My first touch of the sticks I literally lost it it flew so high? but thanks to your videos I had a beeper on it
Joshua, thanks for this video!!!!! Great, could you do more. I built my first quads when DJI didn’t even exist. I am flying since so many years and I always have given up on Acro mode. I am able to fly really good in auto level. I can hover like a pro, acro mode, line of sight, but when I put on my googles I am lost! Well quads are only a tiny hobby in my life so I guess I just should practice more, but until this video I was sure that I just lack the ability. Your explanation really in detail about what is happening, helps in understanding what micro-skills there are needed. Are there also PID settings which can help newbies, so that the stick movements are more forgiving? Thanks a lot for enriching the world around this hobby!!
Hi Joshua. Great video for a beginner like me. I don´t want to invest in all the stuff just jet. Can you recommend a cheap controller for practicing in the sim? Later on I´d like to fly a cinewhoop for film making. I´m not going for hardcore acro or racing.
Thanks in advance!
This tutorial is very good. I assume like many new comers to your channel, exploring your vast library is well worth the effort. Could you recommend several Simulators to learn on? Unless I just can not find it, do you have tutorials on learning to fly? Like this one… it really will be watched several times. Thanks.
really cool video as usual, only the autogenerated subtitles seem to be on acid
Wait til iNav starts supporting more boards than we get pos hold alt hold. I am sure there is a CLI way to go about doing this.
?I wonder if josh practices on the simu to be able to fly around his real home, or if he practices around his real home to be able to fly in the simu…
And above all, what happen if he decides to fly both at the same time? WIll he be capture in an other dimension like TRON ?
doooood , i love your vids 🙂 and your sound effects 😛
