Great twin motor bush plane, but it took a few mods to bring up to standard. Wheel retaining circlips didn’t do their job, steering servo stripped on the maiden landings. Supplied bush wheels are overkill and too draggy. Much better flight times are possible with smaller wheels.

Hi Andrew, should carry a 6 amp Lipo I would have thought..?…Tell me the Prop hubs are not the split collet type..?
I love the big 3 blade props, but Im guessing decent two bladers will be more effective, and easier to balance.
11 minutes with a 3000mah? Wow, you really know how to squeeze the flight times out of your batteries. I know the big wheels cause drag but that’s a big difference. The Bushmule is a fantastic plane. I have so much fun with it. Its a keeper imo.
Nice looking plane. Very good tips, MODs, and transmitter programming for this plane 😉 It’s a shame so many factory planes need these fixes and MODs and that’s been my experience with factory planes as well. I can’t wait to see it fly.

Just curious if two smaller 4s batteries say 1800mah in parallel would be a good option for longer flight time …I know it would add more weight but I don’t think it would be too significant

thanks for posting. some thoughts. since it’s a stol airframe, the wing is high-lift, all the time; with more than typical drag. flying over-fast will use More power. maybe, swinging the scale props just takes a lot of power. adding Any Weight, even that of a strip of tape, to the Tail should be done Knowing that it Adversely affects a model’s Distribution of Mass. as does the aft-installed servo/s. cheers

Good vid. If you have differential power, why not make the front wheel a simple free castor? Then, no need for a steering servo which will obviously use some power.
I may try smaller wheels on my Maule also, see if it increases time. Those foam wheels…Ack!
i also got it a month ago, i fly a 2650 4s battery and total weight of 2kg,
i like a more rear cg as it wont change pitch as much when its more nose heavy,
it only tips backwards half the time when standing still but i dont care.
planning to add flight stabilization for more wind handeling and a better cargo drop bay so nothing gets stuck while dropping
also a big li-ion battery would be nice for flight time flights
