LOL I know exactly what you were going through with that whole issue. DJI just flat out does not work well with Android. Especially with a recent version of it. I actually bought an Ipad mini just to be able to use my DJI stuff. If you want to do anything with android, wifi, and DJI you have to connect to that network, then close the settings, then wait for the prompt to pop up that says “do you want to stay connected w/ no internet” click yes, then launch the dji app. If you do it in any other order than that it won’t work. If you don’t click that “stay connected” prompt it will just stays connected, but doesn’t actually send/receive. If it’s been a while since you’ve connected you will have to tell your wifi settings to forget it and start fresh. Once you get through all that you will have to create and be logged in with a DJI account. DJI spends min effort writing it’s Android version apps and it shows.
If I had to guess I’d say that while you spent so much time trying to set up the connection, your battery got too low for a proper flight. That’s why it struggled and failed when you attempted to take off.

Do not feel bad at all with this bc honestly I had the same issue with the setup. It’s not very clear and took me hours as well.
