Here is how to change out or replace a motor on your JJRC H8C. These motors can and do fail. But replacing a motor isn’t very difficult. Replacement motors can be purchased here for under $4.

Wow thank you again. Great vid… Got to the the same thing. motors seem
s cheap. Well we fix them,, an fly on
you can fit the same motor in to all arms… the way it turns depend how
you conect wires. its also much easer if you cut the wires then soldering
to the board. if your motor turns in to the wrong direction just swap the
wires and it will turn in proper direction. I hope this helps
Yes it will work initially if you run a CW cupped motor in a CCW direction
(or vice versa). But you will experience early wear and failure of the
brushes as they are specifically designed and intended for a particular
direction.
It would appear you can splice the wires and not take the chance of damage
to the circuit board.
This is true.
The proppelers have 2 types. A and b. Did you know how its gonna sit? I
don’t know and I have change the engine and forgot how it’s was before
Thanks for the great instruction video! Just replaced two motors, only need
to find a way to prevent them from failing again.
This might help you stretch it out before the next failure. It’s good to
spin the propellers by hand before/after each flight looking for any
unusual resistance in the gears (caused by sand or dirt particles hiding in
between the teeth of the gears). If you notice any unusual binding or
stops, do not fly until the problem is corrected, or risk overheating your
motors. Also do not recommend flying with batteries larger than the stock
OEM batteries (for this or any other toy grade quadcopter). The extra
weight of larger batteries, and their extended flight times are also motor
killers.
+Quadcopter 101 Thank you for the tips. I’ve never used any other battery
than the OEM standard ones nevertheless two motors died at the same time.
My new approach to not killing any motors is to fly with some breaks in the
given 8 minutes to hopefully cool them down a bit.
thank u man it really hekped and it did work yay
hello.. I did replaced the motor as your video, very helpful, to fix the
motor issue. I had motor issue soon as I hit something during the 1st
flight in the backyard..once replaced the motor, back right, took to a
park, tried the 1st flight..
Here the problem, it flew to only one side, to bring back the quad, did not
work.. not much windny either. I am pretty sure, not wind issue. Could this
be I need to recalibrate the controller?
Any idea why this could be?
Thanks in advance.
Recalibrate the gyros, especially after a motor change. Turn on the quad
and place it on a flat and level surface. Turn on the transmitter and bind
it. Set the rate to 100%, Move and hold both control sticks to their lower
left corners until the quadcopter’s lights blink. That’s it, try flying it
to see if the problem is corrected.
+Quadcopter 101 Thanks, will give a try soon.
thanx!!
Many Thanks, just followed the video and my Jjrc h8 is up and running
again. I did loose one screw along the way but got a spare from the prop
guards that I don’t use anymore.
Yeah, that little pill box that I got from the dollar store really comes in
handy for keeping track of the screws 😉
Hi and tkanks for their educational work. ¿Is this motor serves the JJRC
H9D too?
Saludos from BOGOTA D.C
Helpme quadcopter 101 will i change it iam a little bit scared of changing
mine because my motor is broken how can tell me can i use my old
quadcopters motor thay is still working can i use that as a change
Hi 101 I have taken apart my JJRC H8C and lost several screw including the
smaller prop screw. I ordered small screws sets from both banggood and
ebay but they are machine screws not self tapping and most of them are to
small. Any idea where you can order screws for the JJRC H8C?
Please can you post a video on how to change the circuit board on this quad
+Quadcopter 101 can you please watch my last video and help me if you can I
have a holy stone m68 R quad and is not operating right the motors are just
spinning at full speed when I turn it on if you can give me any input on
this situation anything would be greatly appreciated thanks bro
Thank you for showing how to replace the motor had one go bad, I replaced
it and motor runs fine BUT the air flow of all four motors is in blowing
the wrong way on all four motors. Its now a fan not a drone, i saw at the
end of the video how you calbrated the gyro of the unit also are there any
other secrets that could correct my problem?
You likely installed the wrong blades on the wrong shafts. There are two
clockwise and two counter-clockwise blades. It really sounds like some of
them are in the wrong spot. Take a close look at the following two
pictures. Notice the shape of the blades. Notice that there are two types
of blades (CW and CCW). Notice which arms they’re installed on, and how
they alternate per each arm (no two installed side by side). If you
reinstall the blades as shown you should be fine
What size are the motors? I’m looking at some 8x20mm motors someone
mentioned in a forum and didnt know what the exact sizes are as none of
the replacement JJRC motors I find tell the actual dimensions.
Exceptional video! Much appreciated as I didn’t know I will be needing it
so soon. I literally just received my JJRC H8C Quadcopter today from
Banggood.com after a 41 day wait time for delivery, and right out of the
box, the left rear motor doesn’t work! I can’t tell you how disappointing
this was. Anyway, I had also ordered 4 motors at the dame time, but they
haven’t arrived yet, but are “In Transit.” So far, I’m none too happy about
the quality of this company.
+Jim O’Callaghan Now I show soldering the motors to the circuit board in
this video. But the wires can also be simply sliced if soldering is not
your “thing” 😉
sir can I use this motor on my wltoysV636? please help tnx.
Enough is enough. 1s is the sweet spot for these toy quadcopters! These
motors are just too fragile for 2s, by law of physics. My Syma X5C-1 is
just so durable and reliable. Lots of flying fun with it. Did I mention
that I flew my X5C-1 nonstop, rotating 7 batteries? I know I should rest it
a bit between battery changes, but really, I bought it to feed the
impatient part of me. 40+ flights with 5 crashes and the motors are still
going strong! I just ordered 6 more batteries for totals of 13 batteries!
Actually my initial reason to buy X5C-1 is to get flying as fast and cheap
as possible, as I’m currently planning and designing a F450 clone with APM.
Building is a big part of the hobby and even planning the build is a great
fun as well, which is better done slowly. And guess what, X5C-1 exceeds all
my expectations. Thanks to X5C-1, now I can definitely wait before
unplugging my new Futaba from the PC sim — which is dead boring!
Well.. At least they could try putting obstacles in the sim..
Did you test the new motor somehow before installing it? Like touching the
leads to a battery? Or is that too much power direct to the motor? I
wouldn’t think a quick test would hurt it.
+lwolf1952 No I didn’t. But it could be done with a simple attachment to a
1.5V AA or AAA battery. It’s a DC motor, it should turn it.
Very helpful.
I put 4 brand new Syma x5c motors in a JJRC H5 quadcopter after two of the
original ones ceased up after 1 flight. Haven’t had chance for a flight yet
but all 4 run perfectly well whereas before one of the JJRC motors seemed
to run slower than the others. Not as many screws as the H8C as well.
nice pointers,this is helpful.
+Adam Benson You can simply splice the wires also if you’re not comfortable
with soldering.
Thank you so much for this video.I’m just starting in RC quadcopter,i have
chosen jjrc h8c to begin and your video is really instructive and very
helpfull,thanks again.

Yes these little motors fail rather quickly. I only had about four flights
and one failed. I believe same one that you replaced . I have new motors
gonna attempt to repair it tomorrow. Great video as always.
