Wow, adherence to the drone pilot skill.
I like this drone because it is pretty affordable. I hate the battery life
though, and I wish they could do a better job, but I understand if air hogs
can’t.
I had a very similar air hogs drone, and it was pure garbage. It always
flew away on it’s own and you couldn’t even trim it.
This is not a race drone. It is just a toy grade drone.
Lol racing drone. Inductrix is faster!
No yaw control? That’s too bad…
I have that drone
Man, that would be an awesome gag for someone to go to the drone nationals
and park themselves right next to the guys with the lumenier QAV-x, impulse
alien 5″, x-hover element, Armattan f1-5 , vortex pro 250, TBS Vendetta
etc….and open up his case proud as can be and pull out his air hogs helix
race drone. He would say, what do you think guys? Pretty bad ass huh? It
was the most expensive one at Toys R Us.
Race Drone for kids. A real Race drone has massive batteries, big brushless
motors, FPV, less body drag, led lights for indications and a light
aluminum or steel body. This is just a toy people for kids to see “race
drone” and force their parents to buy it.
It is silly to put ‘race’ in the name. Also, will you refrain using the
word ‘drone’ for everything that flies? The most accurate definition is ‘an
unmanned aircraft capable of autonomous flight’. If you release the
controls this thing is going down.
I like AirHogs stuff in general so I’ll be nice. I find it ill intentioned
to label this as a ‘race’ drone. Imagine the grandparent buying a gift for
their favorite grandchild. Dollars don’t matter, they can’t take it with
them when they go. A value is always nice to have right? So proceed to
favorite hobby joint, sadly Walmart, and find just what little Jenny was
asking for, a ‘race drone’, oh and look it is at a really good price. Bam,
unhappy grandchild after that gift wrap comes off. Now they scowl at the
AirHogs box. Jenny or Jenny mom gonna tell granny someway that this isn’t
it, but the thought was nice……the….. Thought…. Was….. Nice!
Granny might fix this debacle, but may no longer buy Christmas cool stuff
out of fear, and Jenny gets to wait 45 minutes every time she wants to play
with her toy if Granny wasn’t understanding. Advertising knows that the
misnomer is going to sell. It looks cool, even with the permanent battery I
might have bought one, then stripped it of all that crap that kills flight
time and soldered a lead on for a swappable battery. I am almost as
offended by the battery as I am the label. Good day AirHogs!
Once you’ve seen or have a real racing quad, you would never let yourself
buy a cheap piece of airhogs junk again.
You should have mentioned that the yaw (turn) is bad to the left and almost
not existing to the right. Anyhow, trying to turn always results in rapid
descent. So does full tilt forward, due to insufficient power.
