What are the value of d setpoint weight and transition
I have nothing but problems with this propulsion system, myself and others
have nothing but issues with it, “wobbles of death” is what we call them.
your video may have shed some serious light / insight for me! I build
several quads a month typically, and this one escaped me as far as tuning
and issues. I am used to my fair share of problems, but this is the first
time I have seen something as severe as this (the wobble). It’s crazy, the
quad will hover, but after a flip (LOS) it will shake violently, wobbling
left to right, all while ascending and at ZERO THROTTLE! I reduced PIDS to
try and compensate, but apparently not low enough. I thank you severely, as
you make have prevented me from tossing this system out the door!
I knew the PID loop needed to be 1khz, but the need for such low PIDS
escapes me, I typically run pretty high setups when they are all tuned and
locked in.
Yes there are motors from Prop companies… DALPRop and Foxeer are part of
the same main company and Foxeer are releasing some ESCs and Motors. ;)
Well Gemfan has Maverick esc’s and Motors …ohhh and props ;op How is
SNAIL easy’er when u still are tuning with same betaflight as other esc
company’s ?
There will always be people scrutinizing saying someone posted a video and
made mistakes, but clearly the video wasn’t geared towards who makes what
and whether DJI was the first… the video is about tuning the snail
system, which up until now, I was about to toss in the garbage (not
literally, the motors are absolutely awesome). I changed my pids to these
super low settings, and it was perfect. Thanks so very much, you earned a
sub!
I had my maiden with a diatone GT2 with snail propulsion – i was pretty
impressed apart from the thing having a bit high lowest idle motor speed.
My quad is a bit porky running a Session and 1500mah 4s @ 600g so it does
not exactly defy gravity. This video helped so thanks for that, i usually
start the pids pretty low when tuning but not as low as this.
