After learning about the world of FPV quadcopter racing, we couldn’t wait to build our own. With the help of Lumenier and FPV quadcopter flyer Charpu, we learn about all the components needed to build a solid mini racing quadcopter for under $850, FPV kit included. Charpu helps us assemble the quadcopter and gives useful tips for first-time builders. It’s really not that difficult!

high slow flying, but nothing fast and low.

+Jolt Flyer Sure, the Lumenier gear is high quality. Generally the QAV250
size is smaller than most would want for real aerial filming, but it can be
done. You may want to look into the larger QAV400 or QAV500. Both of those
are well suited for gimbals and geared for aerial photography.

you guys had a budget of $850? I made one that goes 123 mph for under $150. sad how you thought expensive means better. and yes I had a radar gun. and the radio and fpv goggles made the total price about $248.
You can build one way cheaper for about 100 bucks

modern day parts from china are now a lot cheaper, and the quality is pretty good. Dont think the price is out of range. Banggood and ebay is are great websites

This is soooo outdated its incredibly interesting to see what the hobby was 4 years ago, when we considered 1806 powerful and the Naze32 was all the rage even thought it is so basic by today’s standards.

I really want to build a drone but I dont want the speed. I just want fpv and long range. I cant seem to find a build kit that isn’t a racing drone. I do t want all that speed. Can anyone give me advice?
What is the thickness of the frame?
How would you build a quad that just focused on range and distance and not so much the speed? Bigger transmitter with bigger blades and small motors since you dont want it to go crazy fast?
