I do have those ones in mind as well. Have you loaded your quad with fpv gear ? Im gonna build something pretty similar than yours and i would like to know flight times you’re getting with that small battery.
No FPV yet. I am going to get the Quanum set with the next month to try out to see if I like it.
I have one advice to give you: CPPM !
if you upgrade your KK firmware you can switch to ccpm RC input, meaning your frsky Rx will use 1 lead only and feed 8 channels, meaning you could enable some aux functions like stab mode.
I actually have another advice, get a naze32.
How much flight time do you get? I’m looking forward to build one of these soon and I want to know if it is worth the money or if I’m just going to build another 600 Quad or bigger.
Nice video I didnt quite hear what you said about the PDB when you left it out of the build?
It was just too large for such a small quad. I ended up using it on a s550 Hexacopter.
+Simon Hahnel At 100$ I’m getting one too! Fat sharks with tx/rx, antennas and a camera is like 10 times the price of the Quanum bundle.
+Simon Hahnel I’ve got to learn how to fly rates first though.
I bought this same quad hooked my battery up and the escs melted. A 3s 1300 25c
my motors twitch back and forth and someone plz help me
Check out the Reptile X260 frame from Banggood.com. Only $20 and better for sure!!
You should change title. This is not a qav250. Its either ZMR or Mystery frame
Definitely a ZMR and yet all the instructions had QAV250 on them. Definitely some copyright infringements there.
What are your pi & stick scaling settings?
Did you have a assemble document for qav250 ?

Hey nice build. 🙂 may I ask why you didnt use the multi wii? is there no way to use it without the usb ftdi? Also what radio controller are you using. thanks
+Ofa Ahmed You need the USB ftdi to plug it into your computer and configure the flight controller. I am using a Turnigy 9xR Transmitter with FRSKY Radios.

Since you have a D4R-II and KK2 board, you should set them up to use PPM. It would be a few less wires on your build. This shows how to set it up:
+travisgrindal I must have been having a slow day when i did this as I could not find the ppm settings. I have upgraded my kk to RC911 firmware and found it later on the initial setup menus. It is now running PPM

Nice. The D4R-II was my main choice for receivers because it supports PPM. I like less wires. 🙂
I am looking into start building quads and there is so much out there to learn. I can build and solder just fine, its how the electronics work together and which software I’m unfamiliar with. Does anyone have a good guide for getting to know whats out there to differentiate what motors with what ESCs or what ESCs go with which flight controllers etc… Also a guide for the software to use to program them. Any info would be helpful thanks!
i need those i instructions. anyway you can help out.

What are your PI and auto leveling settings? if you don’t mind sharing
What PID did you use?
kilovolts again!
hi where was that purchased from sorry couldn’t quiet make it out can you provide link thanks looks good for price
+jason richards
RC_TOP_ONE Thay have a range to buy from.
Think this is one of Banggoods ebay sites. Not sure though.
wow thank you quick response the build looks easy its just the board and tuning that has be a bit worried but thank you looks nice
+jason richards Get one that has a cc3d or Naze32 controller not the Multiwii like I bought. I ended up using my trusty KK2 controller. I love them as the configuration is on the LCD thus you can update in the field without a Laptop.
i like the cc3d open pilot, that looks a bit easier in your opinion would that be easier to set up than the others thanks again
+jason richards I have not yet played with the CC3D but have read a lot of good reports about it.
Thanks again your videos are always good you always explain things clear top job cheers
Why are you using such a big flightcontroller? Why dont you use a NAZE32 flightcontroller instead? Btw thats not a QAV its a ZMR
nice info to build being new to this it has helped thanks for video bruno
Isn’t this a zmr?
+Rc Maniac It is. Chinese and all. Not quite a QAV.
Sorry, but I must buy this motor and I must take it that spins clockwise. Must I buy the motor with black cap?? Sorry for my english
question Simon. How did you wire the esc’s into the KK FC? I assume you did not remove the red wire from the esc’s. You left all of them in. And wired them direct to M1-4. I blew up a KK2 this week assuming that I needed to remove the red from 3 of them. The esc’s were emax 12 amp. So I burnt 3 of them and then the board also. So Im a little hesitant to do this again. Can you give some advice. I have a new KK2.1hc and have 25amp plush esc’s I know these are linear. But I dont want to blow these up also. So just checking to make sure before I do anything. Thanks in advance.
are you able to scan the documents and post them?
Hows the thrust and stick control for bank turns.. Will it be a good racer?

+chas presnell A bit sluggish but turns nicely
What’s the link to the website?????
I dont recommended that motors. I dont know why my have (only one)a lot of vibration and on one of this the winding was broke so motor cut off.
5×3 props?
+Ncy_ [#] YEs started with 5×3 Gemfans. Then 5 x 4.5 from hobbyking for a bit more lift. Now I have 6 x 4.5. Goes nicely
Thx
Great kit, really surprised how decent these tiny motors are and if you swap out the ESC, they take 4s without issues on 5045 whihc is quite a bit more performnace than 3s 6″ props.
sir…that motor can support 4s?
+Mzul Mustafa 3s Only for these motors.
andruino pcb? so this must be easy to upgrade things like battery, wifi ect?
what you think of all in 1 escs? im new but been looking. cant see why the hi end drone programmes for return home, hover, follow ect wont work either.
I just want to build a fast none fpv for now. seen frame cheap and that power board you used infact these motors and escs too for real cheap but obv this old so what have you done or would you do for more power? im thinking racing too for fun.

ah hows distance determined. by transmitter and receiver crystals? whats max distance and name for them these days? been a while but all looks familiar.
no servos then?

Doesn’t look like a QAV 250 to me.
162 dollars was way too much for that quad, shop areounf ive seen then for 89 to at the most 115 dollars for that kit ,cheers tho still a good vid
The real QAV 250 from lumenier has an all in one base plate and looks much nicer, uses much better carbon fibre. This thing looks like it’d break quite easily.
Good video. Shame the same can’t be said about the commentary. I was forever having to turn up and down the volume Incase I needed to hear what you were saying. Turns out you just mumbled to yourself alot. Shame as it’s a good video.
That wiring harness you created would have fit nicely in between the bottom halves…Very nice ZMR build…I’m building nearly the same unit. Naze32 with 20amp esc’s. Got mine from eBay, 73 bucks delivered…I’m thinking there are a lot of these out there but they are different. Mine has no nuts holding the body halves together, they have built in threads on the upper bottom piece. Making it very easy to change an arm without taking the plates apart.

OMG WHY DID THEY INCLUDE THE PDB IF I DIDN’T NEED IT JFC ALL THAT SOLDERING FOR NOTHING LMAO
And from memory it was huge
I did eventually move it under the bottom halves. Sold now.
