I demonstrate how to change a quadcopter ESC from the outside, without disassembling your whole frame and flight controller stack to get at the PDB. Also, some tips on soldering.

Off the wall question, where did you find the foam mount for the gopro.. or
your yi camera?
holy uptilt!
I usually take a photo of the ESC using my phone before I desolder the
wires. That way I don’t have to rely on my old man brain. Great tips. Also,
silly putty or play-doh is perfect for holding your work still while you
solder up.
Did you buy the new ESCs yourself? If so, why not Blheli_S ones?
The only time i had to solder the motor wires on by folding them over was
on a very small frame (150) where there was not enough room between the ESC
and motor bell to solder on the normal way.
cool vid as always man,but hot dam I couldn’t have done that without
cleaning the hell out of those arms haha.
Hi Joshua, nice “as real life is” video. Thanks. If you don’t mind, could
you comment what frame that is and what rcx motors where those (2204) ?
Thx
Maybe you will make a video summary about best ESC-s on the market right
now? Which one you recomend etc. (like that video about best cleanflight
FCs)
Quick question – will it be wrong to solder the “signal wire ground” to the
main esc ground ? when i am checking with multimeter i see that the ground
of the signal on the FC is indeed shared with the “main” ground
are you Canadian ?
