Do you know that after the 6th of April 2019 some of GPS modules might stop working? Yeap… GPS is switching epochs again and on that day week number will go from 1023 to 0. How GPS receivers will react? Nobody really knows. Rather new should be fine but old ones or clones from China with extremely old firmware might just go crazy.
It’s because of how the GPS system encodes UTC time. The week number is stored with 10 bit, and that means there can be only 1024 weeks in one GPS epoch. In April, we will go from week 1023 to week 0. How cheap cloned GPSes will react to that fact? Nobody really knows.

Pawel, I was just going to install this Chinese knockoff of an M8N called a V.KEL has no battery back up for calendar. Not sure how that works….. But anyway I was wondering is there no way of testing its parameter with UBLOX proprietary software.
What am I going to do with five or six DJI and Neo M6N with compass? Soldering in a replacement Ublox “engine” is very difficult. I know this by hard experience.
Hopefully we will have as many problem as we had with y2k
I have several BN-220 and BN-880 modules. They are Ublox 8, will let you know if they went nuts after 6th of April. 🙂
