XK X251 Whirlwind Mini Brushless Drone Flight Test Review
This is one of the smallest and lightest brushless motor quadcopters currently available. Yet its light weight combined with powerful brushless motors help make it an amazing flier. Find it here http://www.banggood.com/XK-X251-With-Brushless-Motor-3D-6G-Mode-RC-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1038369.html?p=RB0922217402201307U3
Pro’s
– Brushless motors! More power for its weight and less likely to require maintenance.
– Varied levels of flight control, from full stabilization with angle restriction, stabilization with no angle restriction, no stabilization with angle restriction, and no stabilization with no angle restriction. Yes, with practice you should be able to do loops and rolls with this 🙂
– Good quality controller/transmitter.
– Great range at close 300 meters (but this little quadcopter starts to get very hard to see at half that range ;-).
– Amazing flier, with plenty of punch, maneuverability, and speed.
– Total weight only 214 grams. A brushless motor quad that does not require FAA registration!
Con’s
– It’s still fairly new. Spare parts and spare batteries are not yet available.
– NOT suitable for beginner fliers. There’s just too much power in these motors for a beginner to safely handle.

It’s very tough ABS plastic but the tubes and the landing gears are
actually carbon fiber, according to the website.
The X252 model not yet out comes with a camera and the red button starts
and stops it’s camera. It’s also suppose to have inverted flight unlike
this model.
The back button is to back out of the menu, mode puts you in, dial to what
it is you wish to change, then push the dial button to select it. Hit the
back button then dial up the next thing you want to change, etc.
Did you get an owners manual written in English? Most advanced copies of
this model show up in Chinese only.
Help!!
My X6 Tarantula had a run in with a tree yesterday. We got it down, but now
it won’t fly. Seems to pair to the Tx, but when I up the throttle the
lights blink slowly on the quad. Props don’t move at all.
Any ideas on what might fix my poor quad?
I have been looking at this quadcopter for a couple of weeks now and been
hoping you would do a review on it soon. Now that I have some flight
experience, I am wanting to get into the brushless quads.
HOLY MOLY!! LOL!! Great Informative Video!!
can it lift gopro? just asking..
My buddy showed up on our lunch hour with one of these today! Of course I
had to go get the JJRC X1 outta the car, MAN THE XK251 COOKS! And it isn’t
as “herkey jerkey” as the X1. I have to attribute that to the smoooooth
auto stabilzation! It isn’t as intrusive as the X1s is. Its a winner for
sure.
the quadfather does the best reviews :-|
