Have you tried the creality ender 3d? It’s on sale and I was thinking of getting it. It would be my first printer
Swoosh!!! That’s the sound of this stuff passing me by
Dang, I wanted to see the quad build. ?
I am in. ?
Loved this video Justin! Your print came out fantastic!
Did you get a chance with the prototype this week. Release will be coming out later this week! 🙂
I never thought much of 3D printers. Now I have.. 🙂
I hope you show us the printed quad flying in another video. Also how heavy is this frame, crashtest etc, thingiverse link?
I agree with you about the size for starting out. I started with a Monoprice about that size. I sold it and purchased an Alfawise from Gearbest. It is a CR-10 knockoff that works well. 300X300X400. It’s a fun hobby but really great for designing and making parts you might need.
Love my 3d printer. On the whole 3d printed quad thing. I have tried every Material under the sun pla, petg, abs, polycarbonate, taulman 910, carbon infused nylon you name it. I wouldn’t recommend printing anything in which the Dry weight exceeds 80 grams. They just don’t survive crashes well. Taulman 910 is my favorite followed by carbon infused. The taulman may not be as ridgid as some but really hard to break. Keep in mind though taulman needs a heated print bed and is hygroscopic so needs to be stored appropriately. A quick tip on the taulman alloy 910 is if you do get moisture in it, put your oven on its lowest setting like 160 and bake it for 4-5 hours. Dries right out.
I don’t see the link to the 2″ quad frame that was posted for printing
I gave up on 3d printed frames, like last week. Maybe for a brushless whoop, but they break too easily. Especially for a beginner like me. Regardless of the materials you print with. Abs is too brittle during an impact. PETG is too floppy and in a decent crash it’ll break. The closest filament I found that will almost work with small drones is a carbon polymer. But then you need a printer that can hit 260c safely, a hot bed at 80c safely, and It takes forever to print. It’ll fly well, But again in a decent crash like the rest it’ll break. where a carbon plate frame 2” (frame thing) will just brush it off. (I have a baby hawk r 2.5” so that’s my comparison in crash-ability). The next step is to make a CNC and cut my own frames.
