I’m no programmer but I wonder why standard definition digital isn’t a thing. I know it isn’t that simple but you’d thing you could get half the quality in half the latency.

99% of people who buy the DJI system can’t even get close to the speed you can fly at. They are people like me who just little around thinking we are FPV pilots lol. I just love the cinematic view. Very jealous of your piloting skills.
Analog video is dying very fast… Digital is getting faster and faster latency as they up date them, they have way better controllable range and way the fuck better video by a lot… there is no reason to buy analog video for your drone, and everyone is starting to knows this…

Cap the latency higher, so that you can get consistent on the bigger latency maybe? A workaround – yes, but still maybe a solution too?

Thanks to the DJI pilots China has detailed strategic maps of working infrastructures and maps of Radio and Cyber surveillance In US, UK, and Parts of the European Union. Just like your I phone your Mavic or any other DJI equipment never sleeps even if you take the battery out.
Latency will also always depend on who’s flying too. I play games on PC and I’ve always maximized framerate even with 60hz monitors, you can FEEL the difference with higher frames (Less input latency). Rocking 240hz monitors and the like now too is insanely good but not everyone is sensitive to this though and there is always someone who thinks it doesn’t matter and TO THEM it may not. I for one would likely have issues with variable latency, but as mentioned if you’re not absolutely ripping ass taking tight corners etc you’d likely get away with it easily. I’d agree that cineflying would be best case scenario for these and I do hope they improve this tech quickly!

I just hope another company besides DJI can replicate it. If/when Remote ID ever becomes a thing, I could see DJI blocking the goggles from being connected or some nonsense in certain areas, limiting what we can do. That being said… I love my Fatsharks, so maybe I’m biased.

For the money, DJI should fix the latency. Yes we are all happy DJI turned to help fpv, to make it HD, With quality components, and to help the pilot. But I expected more.
I mean yeah the DJI has variable latency, but it’s a huge step forward to overtake analog, if you are not racing competitively I think DJI will be fine for “casual” racing even, but lets be honest the analog one looks like dog barf, it hurts watching on a computer can’t imagine how terrible it is gonna be inside those goggles.
I really want the beauty of digital but it sounds like variable latency is an issue.
We need a hybrid between analog and digital ?

I want to get into fpv drone and was wondering do i have to buy the dji goggles and controller to be able to fly digital fpv or is dji goggles only enough?
The laptimes arent even comparable on the last analogue runs after the digital MMCX popped out because you are taking a corner after a certain flag a completely different way. The laptimes are invalid

Put two cameras on same drone, one digital, one analog, put a small millisecond timer mounted on drone in bottom frame of cameras. Analyze footage.
