+Zachary Horrobin have you found anything out yet…? i’m so desperate…
UAVfutures can you sell kits so we can buy them and make them
I enjoyed how you reduced the complexity of one of these builds in to very simple to follow universal instructions for a RC generalist like me.
How can I buy this
What battery
Awesome
Hi bro! I am a mechanical engineer and drone manufacturing specialist and designing officer of UAV’S, I like your video pretty much
Thank you so much for making this great video. I ordered the parts today. So lets build this drone soon.
Can I do this without the fpv cameras
I want this to be my first drone but I’m confused do you just leave the vtx free moving inside the frame?
I’m not even planning to build this but I watched it all because it is interesting. xD
So where does one purchase a kit?
I’ve been waiting over a whole year for another $99 build!
can u do flips whith them?
Can you make a video on how to setup the program for this flight controller, snd how to hookup a 6ch spektrum radio receiver?
How do you get a controller for this? I have a Specter drone and was thinking of upgrading it to this, but can I use my Specter’s controller? Or do I have to get another generic one? Thanks for the great video!
I love how it’s only 99 dollars wow that’s amazing
awesome video! i loved the drone footage at the end, looks amazing. I’ve tried to build the $100 drone before and done everything exactly how you did it and it just does not work 🙁 Ive tried searching why it does not work and i cant find anything to fix it. It would be great if you could help me fix this 🙂 contact me on discord Xenonbeats#1193
Has anyone got any experience using the CC3D flight contoller running Open Pilot for a build like this?
Hey Stu! I love all your vids and am wanting to get into the hobby, your videos really help me to understand what I need to get into the hobby, and where to get the parts. This has helped me so much! Thank you for all of your videos! These videos can definitely help out newbs like me figure out how to build a racing drone!
Very helpful to FPV noob like me. ?
I need help. I have a Racerstar F4S flight controller and I have a DSMX receiver. How do I make it work. Please someone help me
Eric Settineri sure! As long as you keep it in line of sight (obviously)
I am creating my setup so I would like to use 210mm 210XT frame, 2300KV motors, F3 flight controller Deluxe 10 DOF, three-blade propellers (2.0X4 Inch), 14.8V 1500mAh 75C battery, 5.8G 72CH 0/25mW/50/200mW switchable FPV Transmitter and 2.1mm camera. Any suggestions? And which speed controllers and gps should I use? Thanks
So do I choose PAL or NTSC for the camera?
The prices are way higher now and I just got a grabd total of 158 dollars because of the flight controller being 68 dollars the frame was 17 dollars and everything rose up in price.
Alright Stew, I bought what I thought I would need for this build. Some parts were not available when I made my purchase. I ended up with the omnibus FC, like you show in the video. But, I went ahead and bought a Racerstar REV 35 A 4 in1 ESC. I’m not sure how to make the connections between the FC and the ESC. The ESC came with a connector and some short wires to make connections. I’m not really sure where they should go. Can you offer a little help here?
What type of batteries do you need for the builds
What battery would be recommended?
Stew, don’t get me wrong – All good information however, I’m telling you now, those minuscule solder pads near the bolt and nut assembly of the flight board are ridiculously too small. Not made for your average hobbiest to play around with. Short circuiting is the biggest hazard here. It’s not your fault but is the exact reason why I believe bind ‘N’ fly is taking over. We’re working with high tech electrical hardware and then playing with manual solder joints. Is the reason why I reckon the weakest part of a high tech quad build is the manual solder joints. It’s exciting, and satisfying but the size of these things is just getting ridiculously too small. You’re going to need a magnifying glass soon. (electron maybe – LOL)
Alright so im kinda thinking of getting into fpv flying, i would really like to have this drone but i think its not really that beginner friendly? Perhaps could i make it slower? I just want to learn how to fly and i dont think i could handle these beasts 😀 Any suggestions?
Hew stew can it be a freestlye drone?
+asif karim going on the links in the description…
Are there any other cheaper goggles to buy for this self-made drone (under 100)?
Can this drone carry a GoPro hero 7?
yeas it can
When i get 99 dollars. I’m gonna make this right away! 😀 (And hope mine works)
I am an inspiring drone racing pilot and am wanting to build my own racing drone, and I was wondering, which type of KV motors should I get 2300, or 2600, I don’t really know the difference, and am partially confused. I was also wondering if I should get 2: 4s 1800mAh batteries or should one be adequate, I am trying to save as much money as I can and I could really use peoples opinion.
how do you program the drones
What about the batteries?????
basic racing drone in my area cost me more than 1K. this video, is gold. I been wanting to build one my own for a long time
I’m brand new to your channel mate. You made this look super easy. I started with a $23 whoop from amazon and soldered on my own fpv camera I got for $18. Oh what fun it is but the quad wants to go down on its own because it’s not made for the weight of the camera.
Watching this video I may just go this route, you made it look super simple. There’s a whole lot of learning happening in my apartment right now haha
Which battery I have to use for the BASE Flightcontroller?
I just ordered 50$ worth of electronics, not my first drone, not my first RC vehicle (actually my 7th). Cheapest drone yet?
so im not even a beginner at this point but smart audio means what exactly?
i thought that it means that i can hear the drone but that would need a mic so what exactly is smart audio?
I want this to be my first drone.
Can i use the flysky fs-i6s radio for this quad?
So… for the pro VTX… RP-SMA or SMA? Whats the difference
Man this video is incomplete, no battery information, what to do with sma or rp-sma, Im stuck
Can you build me a drone I want to try but I’m to homeless no joke some guy almost cut off my ear today with a drone now I want one <3
can i just buy 2 antennas and slap one onto my goggles and the other one on the drone or is there one drone and ne goggle antenna?
Both the vtx´s have at least 7V input.. and in both the base and standard version the vtx is connected to 5v.. i don’t get that. Has anyone made that work? I bought the eachine TX5258 to use on the omnibus.. But it only has 5v outputs, so it doesn’t light up when i plug in the battery. :/
well my original 99 dollar build seems to fly much better and has much more control not sure why but the first frame seems to be centred much better its a thin frame but quite strong if you put some updated hardware in that frame it will be a great racing or freestyle kwad
Hi MintGreen, yes smart audio means that you got a mic on the drone. I have a fpv cam with a build in mic or you can have a vtx with a build in mic like the vtx in this video.
Im pretty sure it can
$99 build??? I just priced the base build and it came to $190
Does if matter where the motor wires attach to
In a noob so can someone tell me which solder pads I solder for the reviewer
Fantastic video… I’m new to this, and this is the best introduction to drones I have seen yet. Thank you. I just have one question… What is the range in distance you can fly on the two-builds?
GUYS IS THERE ANYONE TO HELP?
upgraded motors has the same price (normal and wei samguk) which to choose?
(i m gonna build standart version with 35 amp esc’s)
Solved it by connecting the VTX directly to lipo battery (via the soldering where i connect the xt60 onto the FC) works like a charm!
Where is the link to Blheli??
he completely over looks the radio(transmitter), the receiver, the battery, and the post-build programing and tuning. ( if you’re a beginner its not as scary as it seems.)
I just got in to drone flying in this video was the inspiration to build my first drone I definitely am happy to view more videos like these and I really appreciate the advice you give to a beginners like me
is it possible to control this drone using mobile phone or app and video for fund saving??? radio controller and fpv goggles are very expensive… not for racing purpose….
thank you for a good video but forget to show how to attach radio controllers
thank you
These drones look so cool, I have been following these for a while, UAV Features and Mr. Steel. I don’t have a FPV but I’d love to get into this. I only have a AR. Drone 2.0, not as much fun but better than nothing.
Does this giveaway apply to the United States?
Hey guys i havce a taranis QX7 and want to build the pro version. Do I need other part for it ?
i’m fascinated by all of this, and i love the idea of a $99 fpv, but there is so much more that i’m curious about – like the battery system and charger, and then the radio. And then in the end the goggles and what the cost is for an entire package – i wish i could find a used package and then maybe build one of these. Great videos though – i watched the first one and this one.
This video makes the daunting seem so much more possible. I have been flying LOS for a few years, and started checking out fpv racing drone builds on a whim a few weeks ago. This is one of the best ones I’ve seen, and I must say that I am considering getting into racing much more after this video. I know its more difficult than it seems in your video as you have so much more experience, but this is certainly an excellent video to reference for when I get the courage to try this build myself.
At what weight total ??
Great videos as normal , What size batteries you running on these ?
Loved this drone video. I liked subscribed and watched the whole VID and soooooo won’t a droooonee
Does it has gps lock
this video has really got me into drone flying.
BUT INDIAN PRICE IS SO LARGE !!!
Should the fpv camera be pal or NTSC?
Hi there I’ve got a problem. I built the pro version from this video and have got everything working, but not the RX. I can connect my fs i6 controller to it but the drone won’t respond to the signals. I know that the signal is comming through because I have put an oscilloscope on the signal wire and I can see it move when I move the sticks on the transmitter.
In betaflight I have turned on serial RX on port 1 and under the configuration tab I have set it to serial based receiver and ibus. The receiver tab I have set it to default and on my fs i6 I have made sure to turn on the ppm output. Please help me!
Love the vid I am so happy for this you have made my dreams come true
Thank you that is so nice of you
What about programming? Isn’t there a lot of that involved?
Could you redo the get flying for $200 video or are those goggles and remote still the best to buy?
wish I would have seen this video before I bought my drone. cant wait to build the pro version this spring after I get my new controller.. would like to see vids about expanding range for flying through buildings and such. brand new to the hobby but hooked like a junkie. . .
i think i might make this
what goggles do you yous
Very nice video! Only concern is you didn’t show the installation of the battery.
If nothing else, this is a great video on basic wiring/electronics. I work on avionics; lots of splicing, pinning, and soldering. Your tips for soldering and your knowledge of the boards/electronic components are spot on and I’m happy to say that I learned a couple new helpful tricks to use in my day to day. Awesome video.
Loved this , Thanks for the info!
So I was going to invest in a new gaming PC. I’ve changed my mind. Drone racing it is.
Thank you for this awesome video and introducing me to this.
dont know where you get the whole “$99” part from….. simply open the links and do the math… its much over $99….. not even including shipping..
Nice I have been trying to get into this for quite a while and this may give me the opportunity.
If I’m in the outskirts of the country, how do you sell or send me this drone?
whats Ur recommended soldering iron for $20-40 USD. I have had bad experiences in the past with cheap amazon soldering irons. I just want something thats nice to use and I can count on to get all the jobs done.
Ok so you’re confusing me with mixing the parts on the pro build i just want the esc/fc combo but then you give a tutorial on how to hook up all the upgraded parts to the esc/fc combo so I feel like I need to spend extra for the nice cam and stuff but I don’t have extra for a nice cam and stuff

That moment when you realize you still have to buy batteries, fpv goggles, charger, and a remote

99$ is so expensive here in our country.. ? unfortunately i cant afford it.. ??
Mate, get to the info that we are watching this for. Ffs stop taalllkkkiiinnngggg
Excuse me. Is the giveaway still going?
I am a starting pilot and i like this build becouse its a amysing prise and the simple lesson of uavfuteres about how to build it so realy cool as always uavfutures
Does the battery strap on to the bottom?
Who else getting this for Christmas tho
What kind of mah battery would it recommend?
What battery do you suggest I get. I am using most of the pro components, like the motor, the camera, the esc and the vtx!
fpv is the best 🙂
I have build drone but when I went to attach my receiver my sbus signal copper pad on the racestar flight controller has fell off what should I do should I fix it or buy a new one please help!!
*HEY!* Ok guys, i have been thinking about ng about getting into this hobby and i need help, i am planning to build the pro build from this video and i need help about the batteries, radio controller and the goggles, also could someone explain the 4s thing to me and is this drone compatible with that thank you! 🙂
Please replay
how much all this? include controller without camera
just basic for new pilot
~Thanks 🙂
I’m a younger Airman in the Air Force stationed at Whiteman AFB and alot of my fellow Airmen have been interested in drones and whatnot. Having one of these drones as a showcase of what this sport has to offer would be an outstanding experience and would bring alot of joy and morale to the shop.
Damn you must go through a lot of solder!
Hey, You do a great job with your videos, and EVEN Josh Bardwell sends folks to you for your expertise along with “LeDrib”! For me, you move along and get to the point, you get that we can pause during your build videos, and with your “Pace and Accent”, you keep it fun, easy to follow and you energize the topics by being very passionate about the world of “Fun Drone Flying”. Pro to noob (me) you do nice work.
Put me in the hat for a give away please. Thanks for the links below! Helps me buy to do the builds sir. from Minnesota. Scott
I’m building pro version. What battery size you recommend?
I love dro es. This is awesome. I would like to get in the hobby.
can i 3d print a frame?
3d printing a frame will cost me £1.50
You probably can but usually 3D printing is not very strong. So yes you can but you will probably have to replace the frame after the first crash.
Jon E B I wish?
+e_r_o_n i will try to increase shells, infill and i will temper the frame
+jakub rembacz I mean that will probably protect it alot more and if you are a decent pilot then it should be no problem. And it’s only $1.75 I think you said so I’d say it’s worth a try! If you do I’d like to hear how it comes out!
+e_r_o_n okay, let me get £200 for my fpv setup first because im new to this
Thanks for teaching us
Because as a beginner we do no know this things
I guess I’m too late to try to win…
No software to download
Noon question here:
I have a new Spektrum dx6i TX. Will it bind to the pro model?
Thank you so much
Hope i win!
Oh, its over 🙁
How does the pro drone compare to walkera f210 in terms of speed agility and battery.I mean it s worth to spend more on the walkera or this diy rapes walkera?
It would be so helpful if you told us about the battery time, range, max altitude, and how fast it goes
Are we going to ignore the fact that he was holding a chopstick through out the video
No pdb on this build ?
Hi Im Australian too. I love the channel and the sport. Im really good and flying drones. I have 2 low quality drones which both broke. I would LOVE it if I got a fpv drone with that speed then I could flips and stuff.
Hi guys i am building FPV drone but i ordered some cheap version parts and pro version parts.. i soldered everything together, connected battery and then you can hear some normal beeping when battery is connected but i hear some whistling from my vtx too and i cant get any picture on my fpv goggles..
Vtx: Eachine TX5258 5.8G 72CH 25/200/500/800mW Switchable FPV Transmitter
Fc: 9g 30.5×30.5mm Omnibus F4 Flight Controller AIO OSD 5V BEC Current Sensor
Goggles: Eachine EV800 5 Inches 800×480 FPV Goggles 5.8G 40CH Raceband
anyone knows what i sould do because i want to fly so bad :/
great guide, now…first I miss at least a scheme of where would the receiver be connected to, 2nd – I would like to add an ardupilot thus add an auto-pilot feature, would the current setup in therms of thrust be enough? would it be connected between the receiver and the FC? (and if so – where to)
Both flight controller have build in pdb, though on the pro version you habe only a 5v power output pad. Greetings
+Maro FPV thank you so much for replying that fast !! ??
Why is there no power distribution board ?
I am brand new to this hobby and I can’t wait to get started. I have read some comments saying that this is not everything that I need to know. I would very much appreciate some help with this regard. I would like to know what components I need besides the drone. I have no gear for drone racing so I would love to know where I can get started. Especially with the radio transmitter for the controls as I am unclear on how this works. Any help is very much appreciated. 🙂
Also, what is the battery life and range on this?
Hi Stew, greenhorn here. Very newbie. Building Ur pro drone. Thanks 4 all the help.
Excellent! Clear instructions given with enthusiasm that keeps you watching. And the promises of a finished build sounds great. Best bit for a single father, cheap! Cheers
I am new getting into the racing drones. I don’t have one myself but I am trying to build one and this video is very helpful on getting building information and all the parts are listed.
Yesssssss i won!!!! Stew sent me the pro version!!!!! …. then i woke up… smh, still droneless…
You left out a receiver and batteries… More things were left off in this video but at least the receiver and lipo should of been included.
Where do I connect flysky i6 receiver in base version?
Been waiting for this a long time…. You’ve been doing some serious work behind it. Great quad ..?
wheres the battery?
Awesome videos! Danny from Shepparton Australia. Really keen to get into fpv racing and your videos are amazing to learn from and enjoyable. You have convinced me to build one of your quads instead of buying one ready made. Cheers mate
hey guys, I’m just wondering if the antenna is included in the probuild vtx full pro version and if not wich on should i get
btw looks great
To anyone looking to build this, which I highly recommend get the upgraded camera! Love this thing. I’m hooked!
I been wanting to get into drone’s esp with my 6 yr old son, i watched yr older video of 99$ diy build n was like ya this is the best video i have seen on this. It truly helped me out alot, but i have 1 question. How did you kn which wire on the motor was hot n ground to go on the esc? I had no idea what you had to have to build one, every one i have seen is like 1200 bucks n flight time is not good until i watched yr older video. But ya buddy thanks a lot for yr help as i’m sure you have helped many other’s. And also i can’t soldier good also till i watched you do it. Thanks again!!
I have seen your video.the drone is awesome, I wish that I could get it.
UAVfuture I love your videos a lot and I know that I am not going to win the drone but I am trying my best.keep up the good work.
The se drone are só fast
almost 2019 plas in 2019 build a v3 this thing is awesome for that price
Damn i never thought that it would be this cheap to get into drones. As a matter of fact I didnt even know about Drone Racing. Thanks for the video and ill probably start building one of these beasts soon.
Does anyone think this drone will work with Mr Steele’s new series of getting into FPV
Does this drone do well with a go pro hero 7?
What a awesome! In a race, with a easy circuit, how much time you tink can it fly?
Very awesome! Congrats!
I am really trying to get into FPV drone racing but most of my money goes to bills. Do you have a old drone you no longer use you would like to pass on to someone that would really put it to use? and maybe one day i will save up enough to get goggles lol
Good vid ! I’m new to this and found it help full . Help full walk thought on how to build one ! I need to win this
Cool❤️❤️?
what are the cheapest fpv goggles and transmitter
and what battery should i use?
Hello, I was wondering if a cheaper FPV goggle would still connect to the VTX?
G’day Stew, I’ve finally managed to build my first quad, mostly thanks to you. What a feeling of accomplishment that is. It took me a good day and a half, but now it’s done. I have one minor but important issue though. Everything seems to be working, despite my almost non-existent soldering skills, but when i power up the quad and put on my fatsharks I get a really distorted flickering image. Tried different bands and channels and it’s the same everywhere. I’m at a loss.
Hi there Stu! Thanks for all the hobby help! To someone entering FPV somewhat late at this point, your channel has helped immensely to play catch up.
Is this build still your recommendation 6 months later?
When pricing the builds pro/base via your links I get a total build cost of about $200 (Pro) & $130(Base) have parts just gone up in cost since your vid release?
I will most likely be building the pro version upon your reply, even @ $200 that seems like a good deal, but it does put it closer to the price point of something like the Wizzard e220s or ARRIS 220 V2 which I am also considering. (Build vs BNF/ARF is not a concern for me)
I am in this for the long haul, and plan using this a my beater, learn to freestyle quad. – Currently only flown Tinywhoops and my DJI photography drones.
You response is greatly appreciated!
mine will not connect to betaflight. this is the first one i have built
Anyone have any idea why the video from my quad would look like this?
Where link to setting direction program ? Im newbie
What’s the range on it like?
Dude complete the video and show how to hook up the receiver. Don’t cut corners. You were doing so awesome but st the end you just stopped showing how to hook the vtx to the plate and receiver. Why man, why?????
What the best battery for this ?
Just getting into the hobby, this video makes things so much easier, thanks!
Awesome! How will these do out in the woods? specifically mountain bike trails.
loks awesome
UAVfutures hey looking at getting into drone racing I’ll go for the pro but what else do I need goggles receiver and other parts would love to chat to someone if you have time and I’ll sign up for a Velcro strap to represent 🙂
Phil Waud where do I get this??
Pro version what about a battery ??
I would love to build one … only proplem is that Im in South Africa and Im concerned how much the shipping costs will drive up the price.
Stew !!! those motors have CW nuts only???? i dindn´t find CCW motors to buy
Quick Q. How do you capture the video from the drone? is that something extra I should get?
Nice video, thanks. I didn’t know its not that expensive anymore. The goggles and handheld controller most likely costs alot, I would like to hear your opinions on these too, what is the best for beginners that is not very costly. Basically what has the best money to performance or bang for the buck.
where do we put a receiver on the pro version??
please*
Doesn’t the VTX need to be soldered directly to the battery since it needs 7-24 volts?
Nope
Saves to sd card in your goggles
Switch the motor in betaflight
4s lol
Like what
Try a better channel
Did u hit connect button
Hi Stu….thanks for the vid too…….how do you know which wire is for which motor terminal would they run in opposites i mean ….. all mixed up …..I’m going to give it a try……. never done any self builds before ……I fly ones that are already built. still got sooooo much to learn. oh one more thing …. can i get all the parts sent to Canada?
+Atmosphere FPV Atmosphere FPV I guess I should given more details. I had tried many different channels, on different bands. As it turns out, I had somehow gotten both the vtx’s and the camera’s signal wire on the video out pad instead of the one from the camera going to vi and from vtx to vo.
+Atmosphere FPV what mAp..
I have 1500, 1300 is good too
+Atmosphere FPV oh ok TNX
Oh at least u fixed lol
can you suggest cheaper transmitter and receiver for both setups, thsnks
What battery and goggles should i use?
Hi guys! All very interesting, especially for people who wants to start with this hobby. Thank a lot!
But one question: do you have any suggestion about the battery we should get?
Thanks!
Which battery do you think is ok for this build? I guess a 4s, but which capacity and discharge current do you suggest?
Ima just replace the motors to make it faster
Do you build and sell ?
What battery did you use?
The Eachine TX5258 VTX has an Input Voltage Range from 7v to 24v.. Does it really work well with 5v?
I didn’t see anything about batteries. Plus you use 3-4 times as many words as you really need to. But thanks for the parts list.
Epic awesome!!!
Where you plug the green smart audio cable to the starf4s FC…I’m having to plug in my tbs nano rx plugs. Is there another Uart option I’m not seeing on this board where I can plug the smart audio to?
+Atmosphere FPV yea, but the nuts doesn’t spin out when the motor is ccw?
I’m pretty sure it don’t matter
I accidentaly spilled solder on the biggest chip thingy on the omnibus FC please help me tell me how to get rid of the solder
hi Stew i have a question:can i use the motors and props from the upgraded version on the base version?im asking this kuz on the upgraded version if one esc burns you have to buy a new stack but you have individual escs on the basic version so if a esc burns its so cheaper to repair (i seriosly enjoyed the vid and i watched it like 10 times )
What is the weight of the pro version?
I’m looking to get into the hobby, and this seems like the best option by far. with mostly the base line items, this is cheaper than the kit I was looking at getting off amazon, and has some extra features that the kit didn’t have. on top of that, less soldering, as that kit had separate pdb and flight controllers. not sure when i’ll be ordering this, but it will be pretty soon, hopefully.
Batterys?
Hi, I am building the pro version and am using the racerstar f4s 30A.
when I was soldering the battery wires to the pads I noticed that one of the resistors just above
The negitive pad was missing.
Should I be worried?
And if so what can I do?
Pre-Noob here. On the pro version vid it looks like there are three black wires coming from the motors. Is there a way to discern pos, neg, & signal? Does it matter which order pads to solder it too? That wasn’t clear for me.
What about the controller where do you buy it or how do your build it
Thanks..please tell me that how high can it lift from ground.?
Video starts at 03:48.
My RC truck is that fast. I been wanting a drone for fpv exploring at a cheap price and not one of them DJI’s or any at $1k….
Any suggestions for Lipos + chargers? Was looking into getting a 4s but not sure which are good for that ESC 4 in 1 (if it can even take 4s lipos). Sorry if this is a dumb question. Wait does the Racerstar ESC have a built in 4s battery?
I am just looking to get started. What do you recommend for a battery and charger for the drone? Thanks … great video can’t wait to get started.
Would this build be ok for a beginner? And what else would be needed to actually get it in the air? Thanks
Funny, I started building a drone last year and never finished. Martian frame with dys fire 2300 motors. Maybe I’ll finish it this time.
Hi stu what batteries does this use I’m planning on getting it for Christmas
hey do you think racer star rs 30 amp escs would work?
loved your video, very informative.
answered a lot of my questions about building a FPV
I love it. I don’t usually comment, so I hope this enters me for the give away.
Stew!! I just have to say I have watched countless of these types of videos all over the net for the past couple years. And you truly are the best of showing and explaining the process of what goes into the hobby its self. Now only if I could get the wife to understand that its not just a waste of money!! Now if you got any tips an tricks for that I would deeply be in debt to you…..Absolutely great videos ty….
i love it!
wow!
I’ve been interested in drones for a while. So glad I ran into this. Thank you for being thorough in your explanations.
Did I miss the giveaway winners or has it been cancelled?
the fuck?? it disliked the video automatically for me
This guide seemed very useful I’m looking forward towards starting my first build, and getting into fpv racing
I loved the build. This is something I want my son and I to do together because it will help our bond get tighter and also show him there are things outside worth doing. This will be our first drone and hopefully it will be a start of a new hobby for the both of us.
Can you help m make one plz. If I send you $99 will you send me one?
do you sell the whole kit as one package?
The price must have got up because I found that they are a total of over $200 CAD
pro version has beautiful connectors and you solder them…. buy a few caps put some pressure on them with pliers and done.tommorow when you build a new drone you dont need to desolder you just unplug.allsoo most of those connectors have a small hole in them you can put the wire throu and then just put a blob of sloder it would be a lot easier for begginers to manage i think
Can u gift me the drone pls I am a child only I want toys like drone
Does anyone have any experience with this fc?
how far away can you fly with these before video is lost? I’m getting pretty interested in building/buying a drone but im less interested in speed and more interested in the fov to explore the forests around my house! I might eventually get into the speed and stuff too but I really just want to explore from the sky 🙂 If these dont go far is there a way to make one that does? I don’t mind spending quite a bit more to do it.
this is a perfect guide i never heard of drone racing but im gona ask my parents if i can buy won so i could learn enginering en perfecting this perfect build.
the motors and FC are $100 by themselves!?!?
how can I make a drone like this go a farther dstance like 1 km withut using r9mm and thins like that bult antenna wise and different VTXs or wa=hatever that is still desently cheap/ I would love to know this because I waant a longe range racing dron. Thanks and love the vids.
also is he battery 4s 5s or 6s ?
are you at a graveyard?
No radio receiver?
please make one with GPS
think you forgot to link youre XD60 cause i cant find them
That was one of the best videos on how to assemble a drone I have seen on YouTube. Very helpful i am going to give it a go.
My dad is worried that parts may not arrive and waste my money. Can somebody tell me if it’s a reliable website?
His video is very misleading. Things like adding a transmitter and receiver was not mentioned, programming the quad. Also getting the right lipo wasn’t mentioned.
3:50
When I get my Christmas money!
Its 4s
+herman haslum thanks
I tried to search on xd60 which is a part in the build and i cant find it. it only comes up a keyboard.
Good vidéo keep going
How do you make it slower?
I am building it. The pro board is not that challenging to solder, but I encountered a big problem! I accidentally dropped one drop of molten solder onto the board. It doesn’t sound like a big problem, but I can’t lift it up! Normally, when we drop solder onto some kinda surface, it would just come right off. But this time, even I heated up with iron, it didn’t come off! It stuck on there firmly, and my solder sucking pump is in a box that’s sealed up. I don’t know what to do… And, please buy a soldering station. It will help you a lot, a lot. I don’t have one.
hey stew not sure if I did something wrong or if my gt r4 frame is just faulty but the m3 screws that hold the motor dont fit through the slits in the gt r4 frame I had to end up drilling them to get the screws to fit. again not sure if im missing something but seems like the dys motors dont fit on gt r4
Please can you put batteries in the description because I cannot find a good enough battery thanks
Now the base version is like 140$ :/
Great build. I love your review and your step by step assembly and your comparison of parts and there qualities. I love the unibody frame looks indestructible. I am new to the sport and love the $99 price tag money is a little tight but flying this around would catch people’s attention and with this price tag wouldn’t have any problem recruiting new people to the cause.
I’ve watched your Chanel for a couple of years now, I just left a comment on your giveaway “highlighted” and now I’m looking at my dys 2207 2600kv Wei motors my twe frame and a Furibee stormer 220 stack ” lost an arm well after the motors fell apart” while watching this videos flight section and as a budget brasher it sure looks sweet sitting here but super hot in the footage! Thanks for the idea of the frame and motors… Cheers
Thank you the step step instructional video. Also the links that are categorized is very helpful. This will help me as a beginner. Thanks again.
just go to his video that is called Drone (Get fpv drone racing for only 200 dolars…) There is 4s battery linked and charges.
forget it. i found it out
I don’t even have enough money for the cheapest ones ? but I’m really into the hobby and I plan to buy one when I save enough money for one.
Can you program the motors? like how high/low the drone flies. also can you make the motors to operate on one specific hight?
dear UAVfutures, where does the battery go?
what kind of battery should we use and also where can we get the plugs for them
Um can I have it plz? and do I need a fov headset??????????????????????????????
all this cost $250 in my country but still a bang for the buck, way better than the $100 drones available on the Indonesian market
great tutorial stu!
Um I ment gov headset
Stupid autocorrect
I said fpv headset
Hey I know you probably already gave this drone away but is there any chance in you heart you can give me one please and thank you
Hey I know you probably already gave this drone away but is there any chance in you heart you can give me one please and thank you
Gday
I’ve built the pro version and useing the bace radio
I’ve put everything together and programmed it but will not arm but the receiver is connected I’ve got know idea what is wrong and so confused please help someone
How durable are the drones?
Just want to check something first on the racestar 30a 4 in 1 there is a 5v on thefar right is it okay to use that instead of doubling up wires or is there a reason for only using the one 5v
Hello, the “Base Build” ESCs link isn’t working, and the pro version is too expensive for me. Is there any way I can find the base ESCs used in this video? Thank you very much!
I feel like you should have tested the electronics before putting the hot glue. Same logic as why you did not shrink wrap the esc in the beginning of the video.
This video truly puts good advice out for new users like me that want to get into the sport.
Have anyone bought the pices in the video from the link? My dad and i are scared that the parts wont come and that i will waste money. plz someone help.
Awesome I’m just getting started in FPV and I think this is amazing.
What about battery’s and a charger?
Great video with loads detailed instructions, it’s given me the confidence to start one of my own builds soon ?
Would a 2.4ghz open source transmitter work for the pro build board and/or do I need to or can I add 2.4ghz to it
The footage at the end is the view from an external camera or the fpv cam? I’m going to presume external?
It seems like DYS is a bit lax when it comes to QC. I got their motors today and just two of the four are good. One wiggles around a bit when you turn it, the other one has some kind of sand in it so it makes a scratching noise when being turned. It also significantly increases the drag (and therefore power consumption) of the motor
Brand new noobie here. What batteries did you pair these with?
Was looking for a few tips on starting to build my own fpv drone with custom fimware. Those modules seems like a good starting point.
Never having built a drone before, I feel like I could do it after watching this. It was very simple to follow along with and instills a good bit of confidence!
Oh man, i never get giveways in time…lol But thanks for the video…i want to start on drone racing and trying to find all info i can 😉
One thing missing as beginner power. How much for power supply ? How to choose them (size and capacity)?
The overall the presentation is awesome
Does this guide work the last $99 did not work for me.
Can i use an 6s battery with the samguk wu ?
im a complete beginner to drones but not to soldering
most people ant going to know what a soldering iron is
about what solder is .you say in video must have these motors
that there great and and if you can must have this great fpv camera
well is that not pushing the price over 99 pounds or dollars and you ant even added stuff like batterys chargers tx radio controllers and im shour im missing something .but with all that said very nice video
This is an awesome video for starting. I want to get into this hobby, and so any help on the right controllers, goggles, the whole nine yards would be deeply appreciated. Would like to get started with something that is user friendly, and gives good performance. I want to build the PRO version, and later look into upgrades for the drone. Any idea if there is a place in central Texas that offers drone parts and equipment?
What battery would you recommend for the upgraded one .
heyy man im doing one just like this , i just ordered the parts ,it should come in a few days , can you show in a vid how they both fly?
So… i got a topvision drone for xmas. My daughter absolutely loves it. To help encourage her i started looking for racing videos and found you. I must say, as a professional slodel teck you have the best skills on you tube as a novice! Also i looking for a group around Oak Harbor Washington to in our skills. Nice biuld BTW
What kind of controller do you recommend for these two builds
What website to shop for drone parts
Ahmm wishing i can have a budget like that to build a drone
I’m looking to build something crazy, so this is helping with research. I don’t have a lot of money so it is going to be a slow build.
I wish I could just buy the whole Kit from you Stu
Alpines. Always the same.
Tôi muốn mua 1 chiếc với giá 99 dolar. I want buy a drone with 99$. Pls
Will this work for the eachine ev800 goggles?
any recommendations for batteries? And chargers
At first I thought, ” this guy talks too much.” Then after you got into the meat and potatoes of the build and the reasons for choices i was actually very entertained. I will be building one of these soon. I have never built a racing drone. the last one I had was a Phantom. not the Phantom 2 or 3 or pro or anything like that….the original with no camera.
Is the testing section in a cemetery
Where would I find information on getting the correct transmitter and receiver. I am completely new to drones, Thanks,
could we build it without the camera because of how expensive the goggles are?
Thanks for the video I can build a new drone because all mine burned in the campfire
Hi man, I was wondering which one would you choose between the STX225 and this drone, it will be my first quad and don’t want to spent munch money on it. Thanks bro
Wow…. Im speechless, I have already followed your guide to last years build and i’m almost successfull. However, this build is something else ?❗️
Just a quick question the base v1 build now you done a v2 does that mean the the v1 parts are cheaper?
Love your videos always so helpful , you explaine everything so clear and easy to understand and follow , best helpful videos iv come across thanks so much
Has somebody well tuned beginner PID’s for the upgraded version
What would be the best battery to get?
Hey Stew, is it mandatory to have a camera and FPV goggles? And am I able to use a radio controller from an RC helicopter toy to control this drone? Thanks.
Awesome channel!
Guys, Due to newly releases, I’m considering to use a Racerstar Metal 50a flight controller and a R9 slim+ receiver as a improvent for this project. Anyone has already built a drone with Racerstar Metal? So far, I Could not found any wiring os schema documentaton for this controller. I’ll be glad if someone advise me.
My transmitter is a Taranis Q X7.
I’ve been looking for a drone that is easy to both build and manouver, but since the general cost of these drones, I have been hesitant. Now with this in the back of my head, I can maybe finally get to try fpv racing 😀
Beginner drone pilot here – what is the range on these builds?
great video.
what do you think abaout the dragon hx5
when i wanna get a pagoda antenna for the vtx what do i need?
RP-SMA or regular SMA
I have just got into drones and I love them. Honestly I had no clue how fun it really was… if anyone has and tips for me please help..
Can you link me to a controller that will work for the pro version
I like how this video shows that you don’t need expensive things to be able to do a hobby and race other people also I like how this video teaches you on how to build your very own racing drone on a budget build for if you are new to the hobby and don’t want to spend much in case you brake the drone or you don’t have much money. Also building your drone is much better than buying it complete because you will have less fear of braking it and having to repair it and look for parts with a pre built one but if you built it you would know what part goes where and where to find a replacement and maybe even an upgrade to some parts. This gives coincidence in flying your drone when you build it. This is why you should follow the video if you want to start flying drones or just want a drone that can take a couple of crashes when practicing. I have wanted to fly racing drones but have not had the money to get one but this video is a great tutorial on how to build on on a budget. Love the video keep it up
i want a UAV
What battery?
I have everything i need but this drone!!!! This ti.e of year is so depressing i need a good little drone to help me get out of bed!!!
Great channel
Can I use a dx6 with it?
Fucking love this guy
I don’t see the links adding up to 99.00 but much more ..Am I missing something? I calculated without a Battery -187.00AUD
How up-gradable is a set up like this? Would there be enough quality here to add a go pro once I get down the flying mechanics?
Would just like to point out tho that the total build would come to something like 130-150 dollars.
How do you record with this drone do you have to programme that stuff or what?
89 mph and only $100 bucks. Wow!!!! I’ve been looking at getting back into Rc airnautics.
I bought a 6ch helicopter and crashed it every time. Every time….. it didn’t have a gyro. I just quit. Seeing this video makes me realize I may be able to get back in the hobby and maybe bring my son with me.
Love the video.
So basicaly 99 In us dollars as all the stuff you showed is in us dollars
Fairly cheap build for a great price! Perfect for my missus
Love your channel man started following you I definitely hit the bell just purchased a few parts last night can’t wait to get my kit in the mail so I can start flying been practicing with a little few aftermarket drone but definitely ready for the big boys just sucks that I’m trying to find groups around my area where I live so that I can meet up with people so that I can go flying with them
What do you recommend for me as a beginner Builder and Pilot
Amazing price, totally building one with my son this summer, wow!!! He’s gonna flip!
I want it
hey, I know im not stu but you dont exactly need camera and fpv goggles. But its so much better flying fpv than LOS (line of sight). You can still fly it los. Also, you probably cant use controller from a toy control for this drone.
If you’re a beginner. I would recommend starting with a 3s lipo battery. A 3s lipo 1500mah 60c+ is the best to go. But if you’re already comfortable flying, move on to a similar battery but with 4 cell.
I love it and I want one .. Kick ass
do I get ntsc or pal camera? (for pro model) pls help!!! @UAVfutures
do I get the NTSC or PAL model for the camera (pro version)
+Jake Capobres yes. you can.
That’s looks like a lot of fun. Nice job
I summed it up but the price was comming above 200$ including all
Please do a video which sticks to the 100$ mark including batteries and transmitter
I liked the first part
Hey! I want to get into fpv because I would like to give my films a new view, so, with that in mind, can I attach a GoPro to this drone?
Thanks!
$99 race quad, insanely fast too !! Damn I need to win one of these.
Cutting that esc ground is a bad idea
Can these work with a Turnigy 9x transmitter ? Would I have to buy a newer transmitter ?
Great video. I’ll definitely be building one with my son.
I’m new to drone building (this is the first time I’ve even thought about it) and loved the video! Very informal, and I liked how you showed each step in detail. Thank you so much, I’ll be looking into building a drone after watching this.
I just sourced all the parts for the V2 ‘pro’ build, using the Matek suggestion. I opted for a FrSky X-Lite as transmitter with the R-XSR receiver. Including a whole bunch of other nice to haves, like motor protectors, motor dampening pads, landing pads, solderin iron ts100, shrinkwrap, 2 pagoda antennae, an XT60 connector, 2 batteries for the drone, batteries for the transmitter, charger for the drone batteries and a ROTG02 video receiver 2 smartphone. This would be the bare minimum to get flying if you are coming from 0, and not ideal for FPV due to the receivers latency. This one can order just over € 450,-
You could probably shave a bit off of that by dropping the pagoda’s, the video transmitter/receiver and the camera, and another 70 if you already have a soldering iron and shrinkwrap, and buy the video part of the setup at a later stage with a pair of goggles. In hindsight, I should have done that to spread the cost a bit.
If you are really really tight on money, get the transmitter first, and either velocidrone or liftoff .. while you are saving for the next batch, you can practice.
What batteries should I get for the Pro build?
But it might be on the low mah side.. in a month I will let you know :p Hopefully someone with more knowledge chimes in 😉
I just went from that stage to ordering the whole shebang.. exited as a kid on Christmas eve, following my BG orders and anticipating the build.. Watch his vid on ‘get flying for 200’ or something similar.. it explains how to get the 99basic flying, what parts you need in addition to the drone, and how to configure. When tight on cash, buy the transmitter and velocidrone or liftoff drone sim. You can practice crashing for free in those :p
Wow $99 build for an 89 mph drone unbelievable and to be called a race beast WOW I’d love to win one of these
Good vid
What battery should I use
Hi, im building the standard version, shall i flash firmware onto the board before i solder or does it not matter. Or does the board already come with betaflight installed ??
dude do you know like how far can it goes the both vtx?? in meters would be pretty nice. huge thanks and happy new year.
Greetings from CHILE!!!
also, their are cheaper transmitters .. I just liked this one a lot .. I think .. I hope :p
Question regarding ‘cleaning up the video feed’ .. I read a lot about people adding capacitors to the esc’s. Is that something that can be done with this setup (or is even useful?)
nice drone. I want one!
Clicked on the vid expecting this to be an american talking american prices.
Happy to see its aussie stuff!!
Just bought a falcon x25 from target for $99 just to get used to drone flying to hopefully get the skills necessary to fly something faster and maybe build my own.
If i can build one like this for the same price as the x25 ill be a happy bloke ?
I can’t wait to get started flying drones i love your channel you guys have got it together keep up the good work and blessings for giving the drones away to those that can’t afford cool drones you go Guys you go!!
Man you earned a sub for that video. Great video
If I built this drone what head set and controller should I buy? Are they all compatible and connect to each other fine?
Thanks a bunch for the soldering section. Had no idea I needed to pre dab them first. My connections with be rock solid now! ? Love to upgrade basic models. Very informative like Dustin Dunhill!?
it says 122$ for basic without a controller
my god. this drone is so awesome. definetly gonna build one too 🙂
which battery do you recommend for these models in the video?
Is there a way to watch the recording directly on the phone instead of the glasses
Ummmm
I added up the base model and it came up to 143 dollars not to mention the FPV goggles and A decent radio not included in the price
i love drones always wanted one that high tech and able to do such smooth tricks and ive always wanted to do a first person veiw with a head set and i go on walks with my dogs and film love doing it i could do some tricks around the trees msg me if i win please IG keelankobe love the vids drones are a big hobby of mine
just order parts waiting for them to come in very excited
I love your videos and you helped me get into drone racing it has Bob a blast
How would mounting a GoPro Fusion weighing in at 220g go?
I would really like a drone like that to begin flying
Do you use PAL or NTSC?
Good video that explains everything involved in building a drone very well. I just watched the original video a couple of days ago and found some time to watch this one today.
Slow down! OMG I want to watch this and enjoy it but you talk so fast. I tried to slow down the video to .75 but that’s just a tad too slow. I need like a .85 to comprehend what you are saying. ffs
Great video! Im new to racing drones and this video was a great way to get ideas. Also to be able see what it actually takes to build your own drone along with seeing the outcome and how fast it actually goes! Woo! I’m excited!
I think all of the cheap parts have sold out. I’m looking to do a cheap build to start with before I move onto a more expensive quad but using what’s available it’s all coming up well above $200aud. Any updates planned?
Those really ARE beautiful drones….. “If I don’t say so myself” lol
What battery would I need for this? I am new to flying but I will definitely try this
So the 4 in 1 only has one UART, which is used for the smart audio. How the hell am I supposed to hook up SBUS from my FrSky receiver?
And what if i use a wifi action camera, streaming to my phone which i get the pic to sbs and put it in a mobile vr?
I will definately look into this build
I didn’t realise these drones can be this cheap, I always wanted to get into the drone hobby, but I always thought it was a bit costly
dirtbikeboy66 I agree what you have said this channel has really got me into this hobby to thank so much
I found out that these work just fine and they also are linked in his list down below ?
That’s amazing, I’ve been looking everywhere for hand drawn I can afford I have a fast electric car but drones seem to be very expensive
why dont people like put a heatshrink around every electric wire/board? Is that a bad idea to prevent rain-related shortagE?
How do you connect a controller??
Thanks for putting this together. Your video has given me the confidence to build my own vs buying pre-built. Please keep the videos coming.
couldnt help noticing bud, you are using your cutters the wrong way round when skinning wires… always skin with the outside side of the cutters jaw to the way you are skinning, cutters are designed to skin that way… just a tip.. hope i dont offend… bless you, i enjoyed your video as well as the enthusiasm and information… well done 🙂
what battery should we use?
Hey I want to build this but What do I need besides the drone (and the tools needed to construct it)
As someone who didn’t know that there was such a thing as drone racing I was hoping you would also walk through the transmitter, receiver & fpv goggles setup .
Great vid
I actually never seen someone win a giveaway and then post a video of them getting the gift . Just saying. Giveaway sounds fishy. But if is legit. Lucky u
Wheres the battery? I’m a noob. Where can I buy the battery n controller
This should definitely be a step up for me all’s I have are the micros finding my house back and forth from the kitchen to the front room it would be super cool to fly around the house while sitting on my front porch
First quadcopter video of actually set all the way through watch the whole thing
Wow the hobby is becoming significantly cheaper then when i started 3 years ago
What size battery do I need to get with the pro
Do the motors come in a set or do I have to order them individually
Also do I buy four of the same motors and does the board make two go counterclockwise and the other two go clockwise
Can anyone link me a good battery(20-50dollars) for the base build drone =)??
can beginners go slow with the pro version
how about a battery??
What if I buy some of these components and they’re dead? How do I adjust PIDs and rates?
Your drone is really good but cost of transmitter and focus googles increases the whole cost
You helped me build my first drone in your 2017 video!!! Now they’re wrecked but i had a lot of fun!!! Next coming up!! Thanks man!
I’m new to this but what kind of battery would you need? Would a 11.1V 1500mah battery work?
Really liked the step by step process ii actually just lost my drone I was flying it and it lost recover signal and just kept flying away from me not sure why
One of the best video on this topic! Hats off! 😉
did the pro camera have a 2.5 or 2.8mm lens?
So I am really short on money and my question is: can I use the flight controller and the ESC of the old 99$ build, because the current build would cost me at least 125€ in the base edition and a few differentparts like the ESCs. Unfortunaletly the ones in the video are not available. And the FC/ESC combo is even more expensive. So any tips how I can cut a bit of the price?
Loved this video, this drone is amazing. Others just like it are worth hundreds. Great job and good flying!
I love your videos, I have never had a racing drone and this I helping me a ton!
I’m not sure about the hot glue, what if i want to change vtx or other components?
i know i am to late for the giveaway but i recently got a drone for Christmas and are having so much fun with it. i think once i get good at controlling my drone i am going to try to build this drone
Yeah cool and all but I made one and can’t get it to connect to clean flight.
I`m new to drones. TYVM!
Can I reply hereÉÉÉ
Hi I’m just getting in the hobby but I don’t know what drone to get. This drone looks good and if you give it to me that would be very helpful thank you your the best love your vids thank you pls the drone looks very good
I really think this could help me to get flying a lot more, right now i got a rodeo 150 with a broken flightcontroller so i cant change any of the pids or anything and the stock pids just suck, and its not durable at all I have broken 2 motors 1 frame and 1 or 2 esc, and i have changed the pdb cause it broke when i crashed one time 🙂 good luck everyone
What about the PDB?
What battery do you recommend for the pro version above?
Hey stu I’m a beginner in FPV racing and I just started building your old 99 dollars build, for others out there both of the builds are good for you if you are not that good at handling drones go for the older version but if you have experience with regular drones I suggest that you guys go for this one.
what battery should I use in this drone
and do you have a vid on how to put the receivers in?
Wauw
I have now a furibee f36 for a jear and he is dead so you help my a lot if you give me a new drone
I’m a newbie just starting out, i got myself a parrot mambo and caught the bug, then a few little ones ‘eachine E010’ now I’ve gone and purchased the components for the pricier build off this video, just wondering now which battery to get?, can’t wait start soldering and eventually flying fpv, any help would be greatly appreciated
Very good video, for all the peaople, the pro build is around 185USD (all things in it + cyclone propellers)
I’m new to the party. Here in the US…curious what the weights are on the two different builds. Love your passion and never really considered playing with drones. I’m getting my FAA 107 in the us to fly commercial. I think building a drone would be awesome to have to learn on before doing inspections and camera work. Thanks.
IDK how you think its a 100$ build, when you put it on paper, its 146$ for the cheaper version, that does not include battery, radio controller and fpv googles…. smh…
What about the reciever?
When buying the motor’s do you have to have 2 cw and 2 ccw threads or can you use 4 of the same? Any help!
I just recently got into drones and was disappointed by the cheap plastic for 100 bucks. it didn’t last me 2 weeks sadly… I guess every drony should learn to build and repair one.
Im wondering why not use telescopic arms to make it easier to transport?
Which flight controller with gps you recommends?
what battery do you need for the basic build?
This video got me into this I want to get one now forsher
The total price of the drone in Europe
(On 12.01.19)
Base = € 127.38 / $ 146.06
Pro = € 145.96 / $ 167.3
The 99$ “pro” version xd
I have a wish list full of frames cause I can’t. Afford one at all but rocking the sky viper app forecing flipping with out stunt button i want to go farther but I feel like I will not do lack of funds wish I could pull my app feed would be spectacular videos
This video made me so excited to see that it can be this cheep ??????????????
Thank you so much for this cheep build video this will be the first drop I could own thanks
normaly you heat the pad first and then flow the solder on it
Thank you. Now I just need a mechanical arm and a gun attached to it.
I have never experienced fpv racing. I’m saving up so I can build this and the rest of my kit. Thank you for the help
What lipo did u use?
Crap so I’m doing the upgrade version here got everything I needed. Except I ordered 4 Aomway 4 leaf clover antennas not realizing they come in pairs, second mistake i got them all SMA connectors. For the tx5258 I need a RP SMA male. Noob mistake I hope, this is my first build. Great videos tho and I will be getting on petreon soon. Thanks.
Frame Kit, ESC bundle and 4 motors FROM YOUR LINKS is already over $100 Where do you get that you can build it for $99?? That’s Crap!
NOT! His first three item from his links and you are already over $100!!
I love to
Hey could you possibly send me another link to another escs because it is not piping up on the base version please
How long does the battery lasts?
I priced this out today and its coming to $150 USD. Seems to me like they are raising the prices a bit.
What about the PDB?
I’ve built the pro version with the racer star board and I’m trying to get my flysky receiver to work. It’s plugged into the sbus pad with signal + and -. I read that the signal pad is inverted. Is there anything i can do to get it communicating?

Quick questions from an absoulte noob, you didnt show anything about powersupply, what do they take and whats the runtime, also are these guys able to hover in place?
And good job on the video, comprehensive, easy, good quality. Keep it up!
Is any reciever compatible with the fc?
A thing that might help new people solder is using flux
Is this good for zooming through buildings and doing flips and stuff?
can the mothers be higher than 2600kv?
can you do a $150 or under $200 250g build with FPV goggles and remote please
Is it possible to use the D4R-ll with the tattoos f4s board?
Can the samguk motors run on 2S or is that not enough? I need replacement motors for my bugs 3
The link to the props for the pro version dont work, and i need to know what props it is…..
what range would this get ?
i need what battery i can buy for the drone
+SHadEN 123 they are Emax
Avan flow 5 inch props I believe.
+super plants do you have a link?
You fly in 4s or 5s ??? In 1500mah ?
What lipo battery can be use on the PRO version?
Video starts at 3:48.
I love this video! I am new to the FPV world and don’t yet have my own quad copter, but have been doing a lot of looking around. This one may be the ticket for my budget though unless I win one ? I love the videos you put out and am so grateful for the wisdom and insight to help understand what I am looking at.
My drone broke two day
How far away can you fly?
what about soldering the receiver and the osd?
13:40 turn the strippers around and it will work alot easier
17:30 i don’t know if some people power the flight controller from separate power but theres a reason you use a data line as a twisted pair with ground… yous sending pwm signals and the straight wires act as a capacitor potentially allowing the signal to interfere with itself
Which camera version? Pal or the other?
What i like is how cheap and easy they make it i mean my son of 6 can build this thanks
What battery should I get?
I was inspired to make one so I got all the parts built it and my fc suddenly stopped working when trying to connect with receiver literally the last step the amount of trouble I went through for nothing didn’t even get to fly it so now I have a $300 paperweight WAST OF MONEY!!! (If you know what is wrong please reply thanks)
Why don’t you show that flying is also needed in the receiver and the transmitter. You will not show all of your videos as you add these devices. People then come to me to help them. I tell them that the transmitter and the receiver are missing, but they say that watching your video shows there is no need. Why don’t you show it?
Neeeeed help!!
How or where exactly do I connect the receiver
I have buy the pro version
can you 3d print the frame
I would like to have a drone because my mom and dad can’t afford a drone for me i love your cannel i like racing drone or dji if you can thank you
I got the pro camera from your link and the lens is nowhere near as big as yours
What kind of battery do I buy?
I can ‘t find the esc from the base firsion
is it gonna rip with returner r3 2550kv?
I want to fpv my boat can you guys help me? What do I need etc.
Would anybody be able to assist in how to install the matek upgrade? I ordered it and it came with no wires.
UAVfutures do you have a video on how to install the Matek upgrade, or possibly know where I can get info on installing it? Thanks!
How can you put 25a escs while the samguk bangood chart says that these motors Amp draw is about 32amps?
I can’t wait to start building
Please can someone Awnswer quickly can I solder a 14 awg power cable from the battery to a 16 awg wire to the 4in1
I loved how the video was so simplistic and easy to follow, other videos I’ve seen have been much more complicated and this one just seemed to click, I loved how simplistic yet powerful the drone could be for only 100 dollars, that’s crazy!
I just want to know how *BOB* became my uncle ?
What fpv goggles could you link up with these?
What controller, and fpv goggles do I need to work for this? (Very new to drones obviously…!)
I not have any rc drones yet…but I love those
First, thank you for the great video. I’m building my own drone with some of your hardware choices. The inky things missing is the fvp viewer. Can you please drive me to the best affordable solution towards fvp otg? I’ve chosen the 600tvl sensor. Thank you.
Take a shot every time he says “easy”
I’m not familiar with building drones but how does putting lead allow any type of connection between the rotator and the circuit?
Belive are not am thinking buying my frist drone to get me out the house more
This is my first fpv drone…I’m a little worried if I should do it or not, just because I don’t wan to spend a ton of money on a drone and It not work and I be helpless. especially because there is no specific name for this drone and I can’t return the products. Also, I’m looking at the batteries for this drone, and they look huge online, they are the 4s lipo 1500 mAh…how can they fir on the drone. some of the instructions are kind of foggy, but the effort is great. if someone could get back tp me on this that’d be faaaaaaaaaaaaantaaaaaaassssssstiiiiiiiiiccccccc

Do I need a power distribution board with this setup? Trying to get into this hobby. Thanks for any help
How do you install the receiver
What battery should I begin with if I order most of the “pro” build?
Stew, would this make a decent freestyle quad? If not, have you done a freestyle version? Thanks!
UAVfutures hey man, I just wanted to say that I’m new to fpv drones, but not new to flying drones…I don’t know if I should buy one or build one, not only because they are expensive, but because I don’t know how to build them. Basically what I’m saying is that I love your videos and would love to participate in any of your giveaways. I subscribed, like the vid, and turned on post notifications!!
How long will the battery last on one of these builds
how much does the drone weigh?
What is that dubstep at the end?
It will help me build my next Joan
which battery? 4s 3s? and which reciver for spectrum?
I’m so scared. I just spent $380 for the pro version with the eachine ev800d googles and a flysky i6 controller and some batteries and charger. I’m nervous for my first build.
Should I use 3000mah battery with this
Oh yeah yeah
This was so helpful because I’ve never built a drone before
maybe I missed it but what kind of battery are you using? and is the cost of it included in your build? Lastly, what controller and how much are they?
Building your own FPV racer looks like a lot of fun but soldering can be tedious. I suggest for those of you who are older like me with old eyes that you also invest in a decent solder station and a soldering magnifying glass. I priced out the PRO Version just to see what the suggested components cost and I came out to $177 USD plus $99 for a Taranis QX7. That comes out to about $278 USD plus googles for FPV. A RTF Hubsan H123D X4 Jet retails for $175 and on eBay can be bought for $165 USD. or less It flies at 55 mph . Hubsan FPV goggles HS002 can be bought for around $40 USD if you shop around. Conclusion a RTF Racer can cost less than you building your own, especially if you are new to the hobby. Cheers!
Do 1500mah batteries fit good on this done
better than Eachine Wizard?
Is this 4s?
What battery do you suggest?
Is the fc a two in on e
Im thirteen and recently built my first quad i am saving up for this one for more epicness
Ur soldering needs work. U should get a flux pen or sum. And hold ur tip until it liquidfys
And Performal coat it. A can is cheap and could save electriconix
Just got the last part I needed to start the build! I can’t wait to take it out for it’s first flight once I’m finished.
Holy Cow!!! this is a great video on how to build a FVP Holy Smokes 89 MHP. I hope to make one and get that speed. your soldering techniques excellent. great tips and tricks. Thank You.
Can I still win one of these hahaha I just started to research and I wanna get into this!
I’m watching this is Jan of 2019…should I wait for another build or just go ahead with this because this would be my first five inch????!??!?!?!??
So to get actually flying would I also need to flash firmware on the fc through betaflight? I know I need batteries, charger, transmitter, receiver and goggles and I know I would have to set up my transmitter and receiver. anything else to get flying? Also do I need a receiver in the actual quad for my goggles?
@UAVfutures I really enjoyed your video. I am new to FPV quads and building. I’ve flown plenty of RTF quads but this is my first build. I built the standard quad with the f4 AIO board and individual ESCs. When I plug in the board, the little blue light blinks, but the red light stays solid and never goes off. The blue light goes off. Everything seems to have power, but I can’t get the quad to arm. Any idea what the lights mean? Thanks!
I’ve got a hundred bucks let’s do this! I have an old receiver how can I make it work?
thx so much!!! this really helped, even though I am a beginner I do have a little bit of skill with engineering so this really interests me, my friends and I were even thinking of getting together and racing them to see who built theirs the best! try it, it’s a blast!!
Where’s my drone?
Love the video it was great
hi guys, I hope someone replies. Will it work with FrSky ACCST Taranis Q X7 radio controller?
What do you use for a receiver or controller?
Stew I’m building the pro version can you add a link for batteries you would use? I’m new to the fpv so this is my first build.
39:11
battery spotted underneath drone here
sam yo Oh yeah yeah
How do you mount a gopro and the battery on such a tiny kit?
my dad got me the parts or my birth day
Thanks man! I built this drone as my first drone and it is amazing! A little crazy fast but ill get used to it. Your videos are amazing and simple. Thanks again!
Thank you Stu for all that you do to bring new pilots into the hobby. I built one of the original $99 builds and it has launch me in to some really awesome fun over the past (almost) few years. I still have it, it still can fly though what is did is spark my enthusiasm for building great aircraft. Well done, hope this sparks the bug in another generation of pilots! <3
I really like these vids because I don’t know much about race drones but this guy will help so watch all the vids here and you cant go wrong.
I’m actually trying to start building my first fpv drone, I currently have DJI Ryze Tello, but when I see how much crazy a racing fpv drone can do, I was so hook-up. I don’t know how to start, but I’m so excited!
Wow…
Eyy
This was exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m so new to FPV that at this time I have nothing. Been doing RC trucks for two years now.
Two questions please. First:when attaching the receiver, does one need to remove the top plate/roof to the quad. Second: what temperature
Would you recommend for the iron so the soldering can be flow well with minimal contact time. On my 1/8 and 1/10 scale trucks I go with
750 to 800 degrees. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
How do you do the transmitter and receiver?
Um where’s the software bro??
What would be a good battery for a beginner making this build
how do i add a 4 in 1 esc with this flight controller?
What battery
Can anyone suggest rates/expos/PIDs for the pro build?
is building usually cheaper than buying complete ?
Loved the video, just getting into drones have tried a few cheap toy ones but there not that great. You explained everything so well from soldering to assembly?.keep up the great work.
How you get the smartaudio working??
So I love the video I do not own a fpv drone yet I have been watching videos on YouTube for months and want to get it to the hobby. Just cash flow is so low I could probably build this drone but I cant afford fatshark goggles or a decent transmitter. This video is so helpful for me and showing me how to build one when and if I can ever afford one.
for the pro version can you pair a fly sky i6 to it?
R-77 not always I’m a new to all this and been looking it all up for the past week and buying FTR quads on a discounted price can sometime be cheaper
How to bind?
+Tristan Galati cheers
Can you give me a little cheap one i really want a drone but im really broke regards frop Philippine
Can you give me a little cheap one i really want a drone but im really broke regards frop Philippine
I can see you are using 60/40 solder, what percentage flux does it contain? Im guessing 2%?
A love this video its the best video on YouTube
DO ANOTHER DRONE GIVEAWAY!
well luckily im an electrician^^ woop woop!
Where do you get the controller to fly it I’m a noob
What props do you use in the pro build? The link in the description is broken
I just got back into RCs i got a couple used Traxxas vehicles, but I really want to get into quads! I bought a used Syma drone to get a feel for flying, but now I’m toward fpv race drones. Thx for the guides, I’m going to be here often for help with my first build. Thx!
Can we add gps and telemetry modules in racerstar f4s? If yes please guide me through with the modules to buy
If I select the self centring throttle mode on my radio, does that work with this drone?
Hi, I’m starting to build the PRO edition, with a MATEKSYS VTX in. You say you want to show a wire diagram for it. However, I can’t find it. Can’t you show one?
How do you supply it? With 5V from the ESC?
Many thanks for a super video!
can you use also the upair one controller
Where do you attach the receiver? And, where is the micro USB for beta flight on the pro version?
Thanks for the info ….can u make them water proof .I live in Oregon and it rain all the ttime
UAVFutures > Which receiver should be used in this build and how do you wire it? I don’t see anything about it in the parts list or the video…
Awesome builds, beautiful drones
Go pro mount?
Hi im new to drone racing and I just got the REDPAWZ R011 5.8G 40CH Micro FPV Racing drone to try and i fell in love with it. i plan to get a better one soon. Thank you for the video I cant wait to build one myself!!
Don’t know how I got here, but I’m building a drone next week.
The best thing about building it yourself is that when you break something, you exactly know how to replace it.
Excellent…!!!
How do I setup pro version to fly? There is no usb connection there
+derkman127 good point
my best advice, who is the owner of 2 racing drones is. before even thinking of getting into this hobby, make sure you talk to someone that no’s what there doing and are willing to help you. even then, you still may not get it to work. I ask for help from someone that fixes and builds them as a job. both my drones have never left the ground yet. money won’t get you flying, experts might not be able to either, think carefully before going down this track. read the comments in part 2 before commencing any build of this kind. building it is the easy part.
Are you using 10 gauge wire for the xt60?
Parts ordered up now to just wait and see what else I need once all the parts get here. Already see a antenna for the video transmitter is left off the list, reciever ordered already. Can’t wait to see how it flys…and if I can fly it. LoL Thanks for doing the leg work sorting through all the Chinese junk must have taken ages.
How do I connect receiver to pro version?
It’s not really 100 bucks because you also need a receiver with a screen and I didn’t see a battery pack there, or maybe I just didn’t see it. Anyway, as a starter I suppose that most of them don’t have receivers so that’s also gonna cost.
Thank you. You have created an excellent build video. Perhaps it is the next phase I will enter in this hobby.
Hey @uavfutures I’m completely new but I’m gonna build this. What kind of controller, batteries, and goggles should i look for?
Can I Buy one from you cause I do not own a soldering Iron
This is the best video I’ve found on building a drone. I learnt so much, jam packed full of info with no filler crap, just what you need to know. Really appreciate the list of parts, thanks a lot stew
thank for hlep i raely neaded it
tank yo for halp rely nededed it sorry for bad england
fank you vry muc i was no confidant and nuw no how to meke drowne thenk u 🙂

Yuo rae gna gts its
This video is going to be helpful for me, because I am new to drone making and I was given the chance to in school
Could you put a gopro on it
What battery type or name to get?
Can u do a beta flight for these builds. I don’t know what uart to use with my frsky
i want one i want to start with this hobby .. me. me .me ow to late
hey, watch the “How to FPV” videos from Mr Steele. He explains everything about you need for this hobby.
what antenna did you buy?
Thanks so much forr this vid it will help a ton
Could I put a R9m on it for long range as well?
+Mr Garkeiner I bought the Pagoda SMA rhcp. But I now realise I have no idea what the video transmitter uses…or what I need. I have learned a bunch of these little problems with this my first attempt to part together a quad. Once I get my parts in the mail I will update with if it worked out. Lol
So it’s $99+ a transmitter + goggles right???
hey I loved the video but if build it what do I do about the controller
what u forgot to mention in the description is a battery
ok and did you buy the basic or pro version?
+Mr Garkeiner pro or upgrade.. The vtx I got was the one he mentioned in the video as an upgrade option.
Has anybody here built this and can follow up on how it flys? Video link would be perfect
i with i have a drone 🙁
Thank you for the video. Getting myself and my sons into the hobby and I spent only 400/500$ for myself to start but for my sons I didn’t want to to spend 100’s since I know they’ll be smashing them up. This will be great for them. And I won’t be choking them like Homer Simpson does to Bart if they smash them into pieces. lol.
What’s a good pair of goggles for a ten year old ? I don’t mind spending up to 200$ for him , but not much more then that for em as it will be his first pair ?
Soo.. I have to say as a beginner I was pretty disappointed with this tutorial. Especially towards the end.. the builder is kind of dropped on their head with the “we’ll just show you what it looks like when it’s done” bit.. There’s the transmitter that’s loose, and same thing with the contrast control thing you mention (but then don’t specify whether to attach it, or throw it..) and not to mention there is virtually no talk of the battery – where to get it, how to attach it.. I mean I’ve just got two raw cable ends where I’m assuming the battery is suppose to go. If you’re going to make a video for beginners, don’t skip steps, it’s really frustrating for someone with limited knowledge on what they are actually linking together.
Thinnk I found a new hobby! Thanks!
do you have problems with props unscrewing since the motors are all CW ?
the ‘pro’ controller is not great for spektrum users… you will need a separate voltage regulator and connect serial input to RX6; to get smart audio you will need to change the resource mapping in Betaflight (TX6 -> soft serial)… works great now but not what I was hoping for in my first 5″
Ve it 3fe
Awwwwwwwwesome…Bro.
my esc’s have 3 wires: black red and white. Do i have to cut off black and red?
how can i pair it with a flysky receiver because the receiver has alot of pins but idk where to connect em to
Ok so this is my first build when choosing motors can someone tell me why some motors are cw/ccw specific and some aren’t?
How much would it cost for you to build me one? I’m a disabled veteran and my hands are not quite still enough anymore to be able to solder without messing something up. Any help would be appreciated. I’m trying to find a hobby to get in to to keep my mind off of other things.
I need help. I built this upgraded version. I keep getting “system to high for safe flight” then it will disappear idk what to do to fix this.
2019? Build
If you built this, could you put the battery on the bottom instead on the top?
CW Motors means that they spin Clock-Wise, and CCW spin Counter-Clock-Wise
Understand that I’m talking about brushless race motor why do some specify cw and ccw and some don’t like the motors he listed for this build do you just buy 4 of the same exact motor? Is what I’m asking
+bangnhard so like in the video, you saw how he crossed the wires on 2 motors, so they would spin ccw, and the other ones to spin cw, if you buy 2 labeled ccw and 2 labeled cw, then you wouldnt have to cross the wires, you would just connect them directly, or if you bought 4 of the same direction (ccw or cw), you would need to cross 2 of the wires on 2 of the motors to get them to spin the correct way
What battery should I get for the pro version that will give me a long flight time
Not sure how this adds up to just under $99, that’s a bit misleading. Adding up all the components of the cheaper model comes to $126.94 (as of 15/2/19) unless prices have changed, and that is only with one motor and 1 ESC, but you need 4 of both of them so the actual cost is more like $189.93. A great video to show how the drone is built, but there is no way in the world you can build this for under $100 even using the cheapest components.
Super newb here!! Been into surface rc for a long long time, looking into building my first drone. Not necessarily for racing, but, I feel like a fpv racing drone would give me a solid base for flying drones. This is a great video, great information! Ty. ? ?
I bought Ovonic 1300 mah 100C
is the audio sped up or do you really talk that fast? there has to be a connection between the drone need for speed and the fact that you can speak 300 words a minute
No idea how this shit adds up to $100 lmfao. For me the ESC is already $80 canadian……..
EVERYBODY WANTS TO FLY!!!! IM SO GLAD I FOUND this Channel! Subbing
and SHARING
i iove this but i need money!!!
This is my first quad
Thanx for the cool build, exactly what I have been scanning and benjing over all my free time .
where was the controller receiver?
is the base version 4s capable
What would be the best battery/ engine/ prop the pro version. I am looking for a longet flight time. Speed is not important for me
I swear I could smell the solder when he started soldering. Weird.
I wanna use the upgraded controllers to make it easier
Hi I am really new and was wondering how you didn’t add a receiver to it. I currently have a spektrum transmitter and would have to wire it to a dsmx reciever right?
I recently felt like buying me a race drone because of that I would love to win it
Does the drone have a network i can connect to from my phone?
Where do i plug in battery and what battery should i use?
Hi,
What ESC could you suggest in 2019? Those from base built are sold out. Other are more expensive.
Do you really think that it is possible to build this drone about 100$? From my calculation it would be about 150$. It might be better to buy Tyro99? Do you fellows suggest?: )
Also what do you think, which engine option is better for begginers 2300kv vs 2600kv ?
I Will build the upgraded exept the U motors and the U Camera
does this build work on a 3s 2200mah battery??
You are using the stock PIDs?
Could you please guide me with the pids? nod very much when you stop accelerating
Hello, what is the song that plays at the end of the video?! 😀
Music by AGST- Overload
…In case anyone else was wondering!Stew keep up the great work sir!
Hey, id like to start FPV but as a student i naturally lack the money to do so therefore id like to have one of these 😀
This are the best parts. Wish you could make the FUL KIT for a cheap as possible
Ca somebody tell me what do i need:no bullshit just the list (full kit with the radio kit to hook it up charge it etc..)
Can anyone tell me what size lipo batteries I need to get for the pro or the basic build? Also is there a method that you can use to determine the battery needed from the parts listed? @UAVfutures if you could add to your description links for recommended batteries and battery chargers it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
My brother found your channel and forwarded it to me , we got into this hobby and absolutely love it , I just completed the pro build and am stoked for warm weather , any chance I could get a shirt or a hat like your UAV ones you wear ? Thanks Stu very glad to be into this new hobby such a smile ride !
I would like to get in to building and flying them
I think if I had the chance I would go far in the field
HELP! I’m trying to use an FS-iA6B receiver on the pro build but can figure out where to attach it…
is it possible to use FS-IA6B Receiver on pro version?
what about the PDB? Im getting the martian one that Stu linked to in the list of substitute frames…. but dont drones use some sort of PDB? or are those built into the FC these days? this is my first build. thanks for any info
and what batteries are recommended for the pro version build?
Hi I built the pro version and having trouble with the flight controller, basically every time i go to lift off the quad the motors spin up very quickly and bunny hops the quad then shuts down straightaway no matter how slow i power the motors its the same. i can hold the quad down and power it to max no problem but when its moves a bit or lifts just slightly that happens any ideas its my second build.

What battery do you use on the pro model
I wonder if you would you pick this $99 build over Eachine Wizard TS215?
What’s the name of the song at the end?
Ok so lets say i got the base build. And im a complete starter. So i need batteries. Radio.transmitter and receiver, might even get a buzzer. Do i need anything elese?
I’m looking to build this one as my first drone but I’m not sure where the radio receiver would go?
Please do a 2019 version
Hi All,
I have done the build, and i fly line of sight with my drone. Is there a way with the PRO version that includes the racestar f4s flightcontroler to display voltage of my drone on my qx7?
Cheers!
Loved the part when he said alrighty.
I love how you made two for your buddy. I live in Kenai Alaska and have a few smaller drones. You mad this awesomely fun I hope to build two like this to keep me and my pals busy! Your vid is completely helpful. Knowing I can just buy parts and make one is a confidence booster for sure. Thanks for sharing your fpv experience!!!
Hey,
if good a Question can I mount a Gopro hero 5 on it
will a Flysky fs i6 transmiter work with this drone
May I know how much this drone weighs approximately?
Now i finnaly know how to make a drone thx, now i have to spare Some money
does the 4 in 1 fc/esc/pdb not need an antenna that i have to solder to that particular board or am i missing something?
what is smart audio?
You do a fantastic job explaining your projects… I came across your video looking to build a affordable drone to do videos with so glad I stoped here. Thanks
I’m new to drones, is this a stable flier that will allow me to go from beginner to intermediate or further?
Anirudh Sathiya about 500g with 4s battery
Arvydas Andrius it allows you to use the FC on screen display and your controller to change the power level and channel settings on the fly
dog the gamer googles?
Daniel Agudelo Gonzalez that’s a big battery, but yes
You should put the AKK 600mw vtx instead! It’s only $9
Would this still be valid now? 2019 🙂
Also, by building your own.. can you give yourself more than 10 minutes flight time? If so, how?
Overload – AGST
I both all parts .. assemble everything sbus pad fell of. And i still do not know how to pair this thing with my taranis remote :/
Do not buy this useless Racerstar StarF4S 30A.
I both all parts .. assemble everything sbus pad fell of. So i can’t connect receiver into this. Also just look at reviews …
i know it’s 2019.. and again I;m late but I want one now please! ;D! amasing stuff as always !
awesome is all i can say about the hobby! i cant get enough of them. ive been in it for a few months and already have so many! love it!!!!!!!!!!!
hey what about the receiver?
Hey, I build the pro-version, but I have a problem with my fpv-picture, there is very much noise and white stripes through the picture. Has anyone an idea what I can do for a better picture without noise?
Sorry for my bad english
randomness Look at 100mph Build part 2
How fast is this drone?
Can you do a budget drone like all things together Googles, radio controls etcetc because I’m a beginner so I’m confused how to setup radio controller and I have never use a drone..Im just going to start…so need more details how to setup everything….please make a budget drone for beginners
I really want that drone I still can’t afford my fav part in your video is were you talk about the components and were you show how to build it?I subscribed liked and turned on notifications
Sorry I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but can you put a GoPro mount on top of the drone? What would you have to change, since the whole balance of the drone would be different? Thanks
will the pro build work with my QX7?
Love this tutorial, I’ll be making my own very soon. Great work
I watch your videos like there epasode’s of breaking bad…..coff coff 3 times over
I got a problem with the pro VTX. On the link isnt a VTX with an plug. I ordered it now, but don´t know how to solder them :/. I think I only have to buy the cabels and solder it on the spots I think or someone tells me. Thanks for helping
thanks to you, I now have my first drone! it’s easier as i thought.
Not only it was easy, but it’s also really fun to build, solder and tweak it. Even if i started to train myself on a simulator, building the drone was already the start of the fun. even if I destroyed the video port on my flight controller, i was able to resolder it directly in the matek vtx.
Not only I want to thank you, but I also want to thank the discord server that helped me a lot while building my quad.
i really need this because i am a beginner at the whole thing
$99 nice gonna have students build them!!
Do I need a power distribution board for this build?
You can use a different uart for sbus, but depending on the receiver you may need to find hook it to the uninverted signal pad somewhere on the board (good luck finding it lol).
No. For the BASE model, the flight controller is also your PDB and on the PRO model the FC/ESC combo also functions as your PDB.
Hi guys. I have just got into this FPV hobby so my question might be silly. What is the stuff that record the audio on the pro version? I don’t think the camera has built-in microphone. Btw I’m using the matek VTS. Thank you
Build the fastest version
I’ve had my little $30 Holy Stone battle drone for some months now and had a DJI Spark in the shopping cart… Then watched many videos of people saying not to get any sort of DJI/camera drone unless you’re really wanting to take video/photo.
I just love flying and don’t necessarily care about taking video or pictures, so I’ll probably be building one following your guide! I’ve built several major PC rigs, so hopefully there will be some carryover in assembly efforts haha. The word “solder” terrifies me slightly, though, as I’ve never done that before ?
$100 for a racing drone sure as hell beats $800+ for a camera drone, and DEFINITELY is cheaper than a hangar and a plane/helicopter!
soooo what battery can I use for this
lol if I was one of ur students it would be great!
beware, the mounting holes in the pro version fc are connected to positive power, so mounting on or with conductive material is a no go
Yes, none of these builds include a receiver, so you’ll just need to use a receiver that works with your QX7
He didn’t install a battery
These look, sick! Wish i would habe seen this before i spent almost 1000 bucks. This’ll definately get alot of new pilots in the air.

Way to research and save, bro. I came to the same conclusion. Rather build em and know how to fix everything for cheaper than paying dji for quads and repairs.

+Jopo what do you think is a good one to use ?
+Infamous_potato I don’t think I’m the right one to ask since I’ve never flown a freestyle drone before, but I’ve just ordered the Frsky XM+
Is there still a giveaway?
This dude gave me headache. Stop talking so fast damn it. Btw nice build
ntsc or pal?
I finally build my first racing drone. The drone part of the drone works but I used the pro version vtx and on the right channel on my goggles but there is no video. I think the vtx isn’t working. Everything is soldered properly but no video just static
What’s the range on the pro build?
And how long does the battery last?
Also, is there an updated version to this video?
Hahahaha, “EIGHTY NOINE MOILEZ AN HOUA!”
What’s the range on the pro build?
And how long does the battery last?
Also, is there an updated, 2019 version to this video?

Might make Titanium frame and use Titanium hard wear
I just want to get started flying. I don’t want to race yet… what might I buy for learn to fly?
You made a very helpful video. I’m going to start my first 5 inch build on Tuesday! I can’t wait till I’m able to fly it. If you ever got any extra parts or looking for some one whose new to the hobby to try out anything I’m your guy! I love this hobby
These prices must change a lot, or maybe Australian dollars by more than USD. I’m looking to get a basic nonFPV drone together to learn on with room for upgrades. With just the frame, (better) motors, ESCs, and controller, I’m already over $100! That’s with $10 off for promos! Still need props, a Rx, and batteries.
AFAIK video is only one channel. If you’re not getting video in one eye of your goggles it’s probably your goggles.
But is it high quality???
Yea the matek doesn’t really come with shit. Stu actually does an entire breakdown review of this particular vtx module. Search for it. What is actually a good thing…is that there’s no cable to buy and you just direct solder wires individually on the board. Those connectors are a pain when one breaks or if you lose it.
you could start off with a mini drone not racing, get experienced and then start building the drone
its pretty good, very sturdy and extremely fast however you need a lot of experience
But how do you pair the camera to goggles? I’ve never built one but I plan to? that the only question I have lol
I did the pro build I have a racerstar f4s with xm+ RX and a qx7…..I watched a ton of videos and I cant figure out have to get the qx7 to detect or read VFAS or other telemetry. the qx7 reads telemetry with my other drones like ur65 but I cant/don’t know how to do it on this setup. Thanks
Well Stew, it months later, but I’ve got the quad laid out and am waiting for the motors. As soon as those are in I’ll be ready to assemble.
Please close your mouth you talk a looooooot
What kind of battery should we purchase with the pro build? how many Cells?
what are the battery specs you used in this video?
Is the wizard x220s better then the pro version?
Me too how do we setup a controller?
I want a drone that goes the Speed of sound, Fly by with a sonic boom
Do I need a antenna for the vtx and what is a drone radio and can someone help with the setup he completely slipped it so I’m confused
PS this is my first time
Solder that on their and then Bob’s my uncle DONE!!!
Solder that on their and then Bob’s my uncle DONE!!! whats next?
hello.
good video for explain.
i have question (don’t know much about racer drone ), for the erciever of the TX,, what kind of reciever is good, and where and how we soldier (put) on the flight control?
another questions about motors: i see you have soldier all the wire same order on the flight control, so where do you change the direction of the motors ,because we must have 2 motors clockwise and 2 other direction?
thank you.
So how do I know which remote controller I need to fly it (sorry very new to this )
you didnt add links for the extra wire or connectors ?
it is static in both eyes. I have a drone from rc tech that works with my eachine ev100 goggles so the goggles work, I think it is the vtx+nivvis
based on the 25A to 30A ESCs he is using in the video. Most likely 4s batteries, they are pretty standard
edit: 1300mAh, 50c-75c discharge rate are good.
Receiver depends on the radio you want to use… Spektrum, flysky, frsky etc. All FC have different tabs allocated for different types of receiver (ppm, sbus, omnibus, etc)
I’m having a little problem myself to figure out witch is the best.(I fly spektrum)
And motors usually solder straight on because you buy a set of 2xClockwise and 2x counter clockwise. It should say on the motor bell housing with a little arrow marker. Sometimes it can be changed in Betaflight and if not just figure out witch motor is spinning what way /or needs to be spinning and just switch one of the 3wires from the motor(need to figure out on your ESC’s witch to change) . Hope that helps and didn’t confuse you too much!
anyone else have the budget fc fail on them in the first few min?
+Red Alpha (thank you for your quick answer. 😉
+HopeFullSpiritFlyer1 You’re welcome Sir! Hope it was at least a little help. I like helping if I can. I started by myself (on 3D collective pitch helicopters)and had to figure out many things and I know how much pain it can be…
+Red Alpha yes you have help me… i’m from belgium, and i have not a perfect english, , one more thank you 😉
Awesome ??????
thank you so much i know how to build a good cheap drone
Just priced all this equipment from the links in the description and the prices must have just about doubled!!! Came out to $190!!!!
so much arm flapping. when do YOU take off? tuned out at 40 seconds.
What battery did u use 4s?
+Timmy Jumbo yes 4s
Why do you speed up your vids ?
Why doesn’t he know the difference between a screw and a nut?
Thanks for the rad video.
A configurator site would be super cool for newbies.
+HopeFullSpiritFlyer1 Sir you are very welcome. Any time. Your English is good! Nobody is perfect! Greetings from Ireland.
you skipped things we need to know
What transmitter used for this drone
check his 200 dollar total vid he gives a transmitter and headset
am i the only one who doesnt know where the battery goes?
Please do a 2019 version! That would be so cool!
do the motors have to be turning the same direction or do i need 2 clock wise and 2 counter clock wise
Won’t the zip ties create drag and if so how much
It straps on the bottom with the strap he mentioned in the beginning of the build and it plugged into the yellow connection
Literally look up wires and connecters
The antenna is included on the receiver
It’s priced in U.S Dollars
Is there a link for a go pro mount?
Please do 2019
i want the fpv
Says its for beginners he says, goes as far as teaching you how to solder, even tells you to use heat shrink on connectors, yet mentions nothing about batteries, controller, or headset. Absolutely misleading this is
some people never happy.
minimal
lol cheap and nice
Thank you for your infos that was very helpfull. I will start this nice hobby ???
I really want to get into fpv drones and want to build the pro version. I have a Futaba 6ex transmitter which I used for a plane a while back, can I bind the drone to this. Where is the receiver ?
Hey I’m super confused about this I haven’t got it to work I just try again after giving up for a few months
could somebody tell me how to go about connection my controller?
2019 version…. PLEEEEEEEEESE
How to do computer work on this drone . Collaboration etc
At witch time this build was 99$? Because so much money only costs a stack, and four motors. Without frame ,camera antenna, receiver ,props…
The VTX is specified for 7-24v input but its connected to an 5v. Will this cause any problems?
The VTX is specified for 7-24v input but its connected to an 5v. Will this cause any problems?
Why did i spend 1000 on a mavic?? Whyyy?? 🙁
I am using the control board for the first build with the camera and vtx from the second build. When I add power the vtx works until I plug in the camera. When I plug in the camera the vtx shuts off. When I unplug the camera the vtx powers back up. Any suggestions? I’m on my second control board because I thought I messed up the first one.
Nothing here about the remote you control the drone with ??
do a 2019 version please
If i buy the motors do i need to buy 4
I took this build on as a challenge sadly you didn’t show how to ad in a receiver and how to set it up in betaflight so now I am stuck with a expensive drone that won’t fly
is this 6s
How much do they weigh?
Hugh Booth hi…. how are powering (voltage pads) the vtx and camera?
Thank you for your reply. I figured it out late last night. I removed the 5v wire and ground from the vtx plug and was attempting to power through the 7-24v plug. I switched the wires back to the 5v jack and it worked instantly. It’s my first quad build so I learned a lot.
Hugh Booth that’s great! I ran into the same issue and resolved it the same way. Good luck!!!
Yup, unless you get the cheap version, the other two choices are singles and 4 of them have to be bought.
Chronos King thanks!
Adam Haduck no problem
Good Luck for the build
Can you post a video after the build is complete?
Yeah.
You are rich?????????
i am from india and i want to make a racing drone …. your video is really cool…
On the more expensive one, how do you connect it to your PC for the programing?
Is it to late for the give away lol
What about battery power?
What is the range?
What’s a good battery for the basic drone
What’s is a good battery for the cheaper drone
Swe The Swedish Viking, good question and what I enjoyed about this video is his cooool technology
Is this build still up to date? I am looking to build my first drone. Also in the end of the video you go a bit fast! “It’s real easy just this and this do that and that and your done!”
can I use a phantom 3 controler
Please help!!! If i build this drone is it ready to fly or do you still have to program it???
“For all my Patreon subscribers, I couldn’t make these videos without your support.” I enjoy your videos but trying to understand comments like this. What would be holding you back from making videos if there were zero Patreon subscribers?
Making a video requires work and some cost (production, editing, lighting equipment, etc.) his patreon subscribers donation could cover some of those cost and give him some money for making a free informative video.
Thanks this really helped me
it is but even if you build this you need to learn betaflight
+Seth Bryan the software used for the FC? I was referring to the lack of information on connecting a receiver/transmitter. I know that it is “different depending on the type”, but a example in this total build tutorial would have been nice. Same goes for attaching a battery, what is the best place to attach the battery, using velcro fastener? Positioning it where?
Some stuff that is pretty basic but would totally fit the rest of the video.
+Johan van Breugel I was debating on building this exact kwad but I ended up buying an eachine wizard x220. The 220 is prebuilt and comes with a battery , crappy charger, and transmitter with reciever already installed. If it’s your first time then I would buy this to understand more
+Seth Bryan Thank you for your advice, the thing is that I’m actually more into the building process at this time. It just means I have to do more research, find additional video’s and how-to’s. All part of the figuring out I guess.
If that includes BetaFlight than that is okay.
+Johan van Breugel ok cool building is really fun because you know exactly how everything works and if u crash u know what to replace. If u need any help I’m always here, good luck!
+Seth Bryan Ordered a bunch of stuff, was wondering if I can bother you to look it over (on compatability)?
If not, no problem pretty sure it will work out 🙂
March 2019 still only £137 to get a drone off the ground
So I have my quad all built and connected up to betaflight, but the Racestar Starf4s fc doesnt talk with my spektrum reciever. Everytime I unhook the battery and plug it in again the reciever goes into bind mode, but even if I bind again to controller it still doesnt control anything. Anyone else run into this trying to use the Racestar Starf4s fc? I tried updating firmware, didn’t help. Double checked connections as stated on Racestars pin outs, didn’t help.
+Johan van Breugel hmm I’m not too good on compatibility tbh but I can try
Is that footage Sped up in post????
Yes you do I think
Yes i watched some Videos, must program it with betaflight?
Am I the only one who couldn’t find the screw and nut for the camera mount because the screws that came with have no nuts like shown in the pic so I can’t mount my camera
Adam T.V no
Nick Bozos its american dollars
+TheDoortree i know man. I buy stuff in usd. I know.
I would love the drone please. I tinker with arduinos and raspberry pi. it would actually be very helpful in my projects !!!
+Seth Bryan I added another comment with a list of the stuff I will try and put together if you have a chance to check it out. Or if you know anybody else willing to give it a look.
Got the same question! Added a comment with the stuff I want to try and put together, hoping on a meaningfull comment on that from somebody that is a king in compatability.
Help! 🙂 I am a absolute beginner, more of a beginner than you think possible. Your video is a bit fast for me and more pro. I added a list of parts as a comment that I want to try and put together, but I do not know if the battery etc is compatible. Could you comment on that?
+Johan van Breugel sure! Would u mind copy and pasting to me, I’m having trouble finding it
what diameter and pitch props does he use for the pro version? I went to the link and it no longer works
I’m thinking about getting into drone racing but I was trying to do this on a budget kinda sorta. Either way I don’t know what the heck I’m doing and what to do. I just wanted to thank you for making this video and the other videos very very helpful!
sorry pal you are about a year late to the giveaway.
When you click on link you see up on searching bar all detalies . 2-Pairs-Emax-AVAN-R-5-Inches-5065-3-Blade-FPV-Racing-Propeller PRO VERSION
I live at 8000 ft will they fly that high.?
Is it possible to mount a GoPro on a drone like this?
So which battery/akku to use? Which one?
Can the pro flight controller use i-bus or only s-bus
Woah
How do I conntect a remote control
A little constructive criticism: Please stop asking to join patreon so much I liked the video and effort, but just ask ONCE to support you on patreon. It’s a really big turn of my man.
Other than that great vid m8.?

yes
amazing build! i’m a first time viewer and i am so impressed!
Can I use a different vtx I wanted to get more rang ?
Can I get your opinion on these goggles Eachine EV100 720*540 5.8G 72CH FPV Goggles With Dual Antennas Fan 7.4V 1000mAh Battery For RC Drone Black
The PRICE! Wow! Sweet!
Harry Cowley my very first video on these things. Had no idea they existed. Lol. Good luck with your build. Might be following suit.
100 dollars?? Hell yeah!
Hi, Im planning to build the pro ver of this drone, I am a total nooby to the hobbie, is this quad going to be crazy impossible for me to control?
How can I program the base version on Betaflight???
Which model takes the most work?
Love race drone. I’m new to this don’t own a race drone but I own DJI phantom your video teaching me about race drones is great showing were to get deals plus showing us how to setup esc camera n motors
Can u tell me when you get it?
Felix S , hi there , so go to Bangood .com , copy and paste the drone in and Boom !! Your a droner !!! Good luck ??
I’m building to the pro version but I don’t know which battery I should get.Can someone help me?
Idk
No one ever replies to comments like these.
Well, this vid certainly has me hyped! Where can I order and how can i support you? Excellent tutorial!!!
What battery should i get as a begginer
I need help with this too
+Felix S I will fly you and answer asap !!
This might sound stupid but where is the battery? Is it builded in the drone? Can someone help me with this.
I would recommend a 1300mah 4s lipo with a c-rating of at least 45 better 65
+Norbert Banjas 4s vs 6s?
are those 5 inch props?
Nice info. Thanks. What is the weight without battery…???
lol 38:52 2x speed it sounds like he is talking backwards!..
pls do 2019 version.
gonna build this one for sure…. impressive……….. thanks a lot man
configuration???
I’m Jack’s Nipples As a beginner 4s is the way to go in my oppinion
Whaaaaaaaaaat 140 kmh???????!!!!!!!!
Battery?
UAVfutures, what type of batteries will I use??
Thank you Stew. I found you a yr ago for a new build and since then i follso you and got furthe with Zoroe and Botgrinder and the Rotor Riot pack. But it was cause i found you first. So. My budget is very limited as i am divorcing and all that sick issues. So at the end, i will love to make a build and finally rip. This video remids me what i can try. Thats why ibdo thank you. Happy 2019. bless you all and who knows…perhaps i’ll be ripping thanks to the positive help of Stew aswell!! Peace out!
I just left hobby store trying to buy something reasonably priced and nothing everything is outrageous
I’m going to make one just like yours because it goes 90
You order in the description
Yeah, how about the batteries???
bobs ur uncle
First time building, and it was very easy to make, love it so much
how do i know which cables i plug to the esc’s?
Okay thanks for sharing
Hey hey, you guys still have a drone to give away?
This channel is going to blow up soon, I guarantee it.
I like the low entry price for this build. Hopefully, I can save up for this since I have a headset but no drone.
G.I. NEFI UNDERGROUND STUDIO … D.M. KID … I LIKE THE DRONES. RESTARTING TO DRONE TRAINING RC DRONE RACE.
G.I. NEFI I THINK IT A GOOD PRICE FOR A RACE, ALSO A CONTROL AND HEADSET IS LESS THEN 99 $ SAVE EXTRA MONEY HELP ANY THAT LIKE TO LEAN ABOUT RACE FLY.
What RC controller do you use
Reed Stedje same bro
This drone is a good baseline for starters to build off.
Generally if you want to build a 90 degree drone you’d first want to start off with some basic flight skills. This all depends whether you’ve flown before.
What transmitter should i use for pro version. And how to bind transmitter….some please help
Can i use flysky i6 with pro version and how to bind
This video hel;ped me see that I did not need to go out and spend $1000+ to get into a good drone racing setup thanks for all of the amazing content.
Do i need to tune it?
Bateries??
Anyone over 40yr. , get some cheap jewelers head magnifiers , make life easier when soldering.
Please Help!!!!!! What reciever or Radio can i use?
I build this Shit and now Nobody can Help me what reciever or Radio can i use…. So i have a Drone but cant fly it… Nice thanks??
That’s awesome, always wanted one but can’t afford it. I been watching your videos and gotta say it’s my fav channel. You go deep into details but in a way for newbies to understand. Keep up the good work. I have learned so much here that I feel like I could build one myself with a bit Google help. Again keep up the great work, I appreciate it for sure.
What battery do you use for the pro build
how do i get the right remote for this? please reply
Thanks. I always wanted to get into drones but all i see is is more over 500 dollar mark for a good/decent one. But your build would be good for someone like me who wants to get in but afraid of crashing a 500 drone. Here i can build for 100 and upgrade later when ready to improve flying.
What song in used at the end
Can you send that pro version here in Finland. Im really interested about those drones but no job and no money. I watch your channel daily and im becoming jealous to not have money to buy one.
Does anyone have any recommended PIDs or a Betaflight Config they can share?
Hey yo,
thanks for this amazing video! I’m new to FPV and just ordered the pro build *-*.
Can I install a FlySky transmitter for a FlySky radio on it?
you meant flysky receiver, and yes of course you can, but I wouldn’t go for the pro build fc+esc, I would rather get mamba stack for a beginner
Great job! I feel like I can actually build an FPV drone now… Thank you!
+Stefan G yes of course I mean it, thanks 🙂
ok nice! thanks again (Y)
But what battery do you use to fly with it
Ah Bro awesome vid. Going to make one of these when I get some bucks!
What about the receivers??
Hii i am big fan of your channel
I got a spedix s100 setup but not to much info for the vtx out,,,,it says it has 100mw power but I am use to 600mw vtx’s and just wondering can I get anything close out of this vtx??
remote is by your choice and finance. taranis q x7 is a great radio for 100$
I believe a 1s, 2s, 3s, or a 4s. He doesn’t mention it, but I did some research and its compatible with a 1s to 4s LiPo. Hope this helps.
How do i connect a remote controller / Goggles to the drone ? I need to know it before i can buy the things i need.
Seriously looking into getting one of these. I have a phantom now but want to get into a race rig soon. Great video!
Isnt the 25A esc underrated for the samguk wu series? The testing table shows that these motors can sometimes pull almost 35A
What is the difference between Black knight and matek VTX?
Would this build be slower on a larger frame like the martian 2? Thanks
Faster
$100 drone, doesnt include goggles or controller needed to fly it xD
I learned alot! Being new to the hobby, these are the kind of informative videos I need to keep me interested thanks alot
christian williams it clearly says $100 drone.. not $100 drone, goggles, and controller altogether
What range does it have?
Im almost convinced.
+K V i get that but the video starts off saying it’s for getting people into drone racing that don’t have much money to spend and then he lists $400 in additional radio and goggles you’d actually need to get started and fly like he was. Not being negative just a bit of misled sticker shock. Actually subbed because of this video as it is a brilliant drone
+K V his updated video where he pairs this drone with everything else you need for $200 is much more inclusive for someone looking for how to get started on a budget.
christian williams oh I see what you mean, oh well
The black knight has switchable 25, 200, and 600 mw, and also includes smart osd. The maytek tax has switchable 25, 200, and 500 mw, and from what I can see it doesn’t seem to have the “smart” osd that the black knight does. The two are really similar though and choosing one really just comes down to personal preference.
I loved the video because it inspired me to get into drone racing and to build my own one
How come, 99$ quad price is £99 too, when you pick the parts from the website? Shouldn’t it be less in £?
Ima new subscriber what happened to your back walll
So questions
1. Do the propellers make the drone kind of self balance in the air if you aren’t steering it anywhere like the drone would just hover almost perfectly or do we need other parts for that?
So I bought everything in the “pro” version and got everything working. The only problem is that my video feed is great right when I plug in the battery to my quad but after a matter of about 30 sec the quality becomes terrible and then unusable. It can be sitting on my desk or out in the field and the problem still occurs. I tried swapping the antenna, the vtx and the camera and nothing changed. And this is all when the quad is still unarmed. When I do arm it and add throttle the signal also gets worse and I understand that problem can be fixed with a capacitor but its odd that the issue persists even when the motors aren’t spinning. Any Ideas why this might be happening and how to fix it? Thanks anyone for the help
does anyone know what battery this drone needs?
why not just twist the two 5v wires together before soldering them onto the pad so none of them jump off when you try to stick an other one in the same spot? (face palm)
I wanna have it
hes just moved house i think
Im a big fan of drone ?
if your starting to get into this hobby and have absolutely no fpv racing drone gear then this build costs close to 500NZD to get started. by the time you add the fpv googles and remote your buget goes way out of line.
Can you fly it without goggles?
this guy talks so fast…
Normally a 1s Or 2s LiPo is used for these kinds of drones. LiPo Batteries are very good for these because they are the best to make your motors go up to speed to actually be able to lift off. I wouldn’t recommend NiMh Type Batteries for a racing drone like this Because they dont put as much “juice” out as a LiPo battery does. I hope this helped ?
The Samguk Motors only seem to be available in CW version. Is this normal? What about CCW? I can imagine the nuts come loose when you dont use 2cCW and 2xCCW ?
Awsome guide =] How much does the complete drone weigh?
Theoretically yes, but if there is wind they will blow slightly to one side
I wish i could do fpv drone racing
Hey mate u got a 2019 version of this coming out so excited I wanna give this a shot looks sick love the video/tutorials/guide bang up job keep it up
What is the range on something like this
lol.99 dollars. i wish. not even close where i live
find myself on this channel alot, as if you knew I was going to need help on a subject and made a video for a week before I needed it. (twilight zone music)
thanks for all the help, its much appreciated
Thanks for your help Iv been flying dji dones but they don’t have the freedom of a race done I like making film of mountain biking and been trying to find out how to build one this would be perfect thank you for sharing your knowledge
thank you for your help. I am going to attempt my first build…
Wich Lipo should I use? ?
Do you have a kit already done or a already put together drone?
Drone Art i think 3s or 4s lipo
Good luck, make sure to have a battery, a radio, an receiver and an fpv screen! I built the old 99$ drone, and I can’t fly it for… like 18 months before now, so just do it, you gonna learn an huge amount of things, electronics, betaflight, openTx, ect…
Enjoy! ❤️
I think the giveaways over???
u just got a new sub my friend great video , i was looking for a new hobby i raced nitro rc cars now about to jump in this kool hobby . thanks
This drone how fast it go?
how far does it go?
I love that little flip you did at 1:53. I have just a cheap slow drone that can barely move, I’m going to have to try making one of these. That’s just fantastic!
Can you put a GoPro hero 6 on it
Are we able to electrical tape the wires?
It may be an upgrade to get the pro all in one controler but easy to replace an esc if one fries with the nonpro one.
Is it ok when j use other esc‘s ???????
I enjoyed this in 2019.
Drone ++
Now it’s the new 2019 price of a low low $187.69
Build me one!
Do not buy DYS motor, they are shit and bearings are cheap. Plus, he wired the vtx incorrectly on the fc on the pro build, its a 7-24v vtx, which means 5v wont be enough. Your video will never be stable or clear if you do it wire it up to the 5v.
yeeeeeeeee
The drone is sooo fast,I love the design
Great video as always Stu, thank you.
Currently upgrading your 2017 build to this one.
Will the VTX run on 5V ok as shown in the video? Spec says 7-24V.
Or as there are only 5V outs on the FC can I just hook it to the XT60 connection or not recommended?
Cheers
Thanks for the video! I have a question: do you have to programm something? great Video!
I killed my FC with my VTX while testing. Never try to lift up you drone with hangingcables and battery plugged in.
This was a random video on my feed but this just got me into drone racing.
i bought this in 2019 (pro with basic fpv camera) for 150$ + ev100 + FrSky Taranis X-LITE
This is so amazing I have been wanting to get drone flying so bad I have bought a few cheap ones and they were crap but I have 3 young kids so I haven’t been able to get another one and this is great I’m going to try this for sure
AUD?
$99 build….I fell for that $2000 ago. But you know…now that I have no money…living in the woods in an old refrigerator box ain’t as bad as I thought it would be. LOL But at least I have my two 210mm builds along with a 220mm, a 250mm, a 90mm, a 130 mm in the works, a 140mm being rebuilt right now, a Chameleon started, and a 270mm Robocat. And it STILL hasn’t been a year yet ! Yeah I’m gonna need a bigger frig box soon…but it sure is fun. ps, solar battery chargers take a while to recharge lipos…the only downside.
These are amazing, thanks for saving me the money
Is the flight video sped up it looms so fast 🙂
Very nice video. If I follow the pro built, what type of battery should I use?
Is that a graveyard you are flying around?
I’m not familiar with drones etc, but I am with electronics, if your battery outputs 7-24V (depending on the amount of cells ofcourse) continously, it’s best to use that, since there’s already a voltage regulator anyway. However make sure you’re looking at the correct specs and connection, maybe it has both a 5V in and a 7-24V in.
What is the flight time for this drone
i have a phantom 3 advanced 😀
Dude, I love your vids, even though this isn’t a 99$ build anymore I still think that it will help a lot of people.
can you advise on how to wire the upgraded VTX to this board? I purchased the Matek 5.8G 40ch but i can figure out how i need to wire it up.
I want one
Lol I never flew a drone before
which accu for the base build
my english is bad so maby i missed it
Go on his discord and ask
i love the v
Hello,
I’m building the “pro version” and I can’t find where to connect the telemetry signal wire.
Could someone help please?
Batery ?
Hey community / Stewie
Does the racer starf4s flight controller need to be connected to an fsia6 receiver? If not how do I pair my devices?
Could this hold a GoPro?
Nice video!
Please do a 2019 version
What kind of battery is needed?
I´m not sure which lipo he use. But on this version i would take a lipo with:
80C 1500mAh and 14,8V. That´s my favorite lipo, I am using that lipo.
When can´t understand it, I can write it you in other languages!
I built one of these and one of my motors burned up before it left the desk why would this happen?
clèwn thank you for your reply. I don’t believe the power will be regulated if I hook straight up to the lipo and FC does appear to only output 5v BEC. I think I will utilise the PDB from the 2018 build I have as it has a 12V regulated output and hook the VTX to that
How about a 3inch build stew?
Damnnnnn move yo bigg ass headdd bro lmao
Good shyt, deff helped me out thanks man
Hey just noticed that the vtx is rated 7-24 volts but you power it from a 5v pad, guessing this doesnt cause any issues? Thanks in advance 🙂
Not applying flux to any of the soldered elements made me cringe a bit.
What batteries do you put on this drones ?
Hay UAVfutures and racers!
I am going to build the Base version, but without VTX/Camera for now. In the near future I will upgrade with VTX/Camera/Goggles.
Currently the Racerstar MS Series 25A ESC BLHeLi_S OPTO 2-4S are sold out and I am looking for replacement. I will go with the DYS Samguk Series Wu 2206 2400KV 2700KV 3-4S motors, but I am not quite sure which KV to pick and batteries/charger to go for. Also a recommendation for battery power socket recommendation would be valuable.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
A higher kv motor will have a higher top speed while a lower kv motor will have better torque which means better responsiveness on turns and flips. If you’re going for cool stunts I would recommend a lower kv motor. Now for the batteries, I would recommend a smaller 4s battery around 2000 mAh with a charger with an LCD display. Personally I have a cheap battery charger that can charge up to 6s LiPo batteries. The display allows you to see more information when charging your batteries that allow for you to stop charging if anything bad is happening.(Overcurrent, etc.) For connectors, I would recommend the xt60 simply because it is a common connector that is pretty durable.
Is there a difference between a racing drone and a freestyle drone? Can this be used for freestyle?
I would LOVE to get one of those drones you built. Being disabled wheelchair bound. I love flying drones. I started like everyone, Horrible flying on my very first drone. Then after many failures flying, eventually I became good at it. It is not very fun to fly drones!!!, I currently have none, I would LOVE to get one of your drones!!, And I love the mixed colors. So Awesome!!!, People freak out how I can fly a fast drone, they always ask, How are you controlling that drone so fast!, I tell them there are some who just want to fly, take pictures video, I like Fast flying, and taking video!!!! I enjoyed seeing how you get all the solder points ready. And explaining helps also!!!
How i can make betaflight setting for this drone ?
I ain’t racing with you and your “basher quad”!!
How im going to put my reciver? can anybody help me
What battery do i need?
I used 4s lipo 2000mah 65 c
But you can use 3 s also on this build
IMAX b6 cost 15$ and is a beautiful charger for all batterys Not only lipo
Buy some little bee 30amp ESC they got bl Heli and dshot and are high quality
You mean how to mount it? Well, however you want. The most common way is double sided foam tape or zip tie.
best color combination

Great video! You helped me build my first quad! One question, though. I used the same frame as you, but cannot find a Gopro mount to fit it. How did you attach a GoPro to this frame?
plz give me a drone I love drone but I did not have money to purchase
No i mean in the omnibus f4(flight controller)where im going to make connection between reciver and omnibus f4
how to connect that drone into its controler?
how to connect that drone into its controler?
how to connect that drone into its controler?
and how to put reciever
and how to put reciever
and how to put reciever
How does the matek vtx setup with the pro build? comes with no wires and the gold bit doesnt click in to the hole. 🙁 very confused
what lipo do u use for the pro version ?
For some reason everything is soldered up but it won’t send power to the receiver or transmitter the motors work fine in beta flight I can’t figure it out any insight?
i will buy you one if you subcribe to my channel calls:Secret police
i will buy you one if you subcribe to my channel calls:Secret police
CAPTAIN PINEAPPLE yea how
I really liked all your drone on the wall
please do a 2019 guide
I would really really get a lot out of one of these as I am an intermediate flyer I’ve flown drones for a while but I want to get into racing and this would be the most amazing opportunity for me this is also an amazing thing you’re doing for people even if I don’t win I want to say thank you for the fact that the person who actually gets to drone is going to be just as happy and it’s a very generous thing you’re doing God bless you guys. I can’t wait to start flying like that I have never seen speeds like that keep flying guys. I don’t know where Ali what to say but other comments as well but I’m sure they want the Drone as much as I do so I’m just going to say take their words obviously into account as much as you do mine anyway thank you take care and stay in the air!
4s lipo
Any 4s lipo
I bought a drone for $139 I was Disappointed It went out of range and Crash on the roof Of a building ?
you’re supposed to take it slow and easy.
Hey Sir, Great job I must Say. You will be happy to hear that I have subscribed!
I am barely new to FPV drone Flying & Making. I wanted to know how to sync my newly made quadcopter to a controller/RC remote. I will be extremely grateful if you can send me a link of how to sync my quad to a controller.
Because its not like you just move the joysticks on the controller and it moves, Is it?
Thanks a lot. Love, Respect and Gratitude from India.
Yea 2019 version
With this batterie you last how long about 20 min ?
+Gabriel Bruni ahahhahahaha would be nice 5 min maybe 6 If you Go slow ! They need a lot amps
OK I’m new in drone. But how many MAH you need for 15 -20 min of fly
This looks like so much fun! I wish this guy was speaking english so I could understand it.
Than you So Much for this video!!! This exactly what I have been searching for and I want to fly as soon as possible. Thank you!!!
Variance Within I was going slow but It went out of range And fly away By itself
Would love to see a build with parts more suited to a freestyle quad.
31:40 you know you connected a 7-24 Vin to a 5V pad… right? Bcs I made this build and I wired that vtx input like you did… Video was running barely on the lowest setting (25mW)… But it was really really trashy video. Then I soldered the Vin directly to the battery + and now it works correctly. Why didn’t you mention that and how does your VTX work correctly? 😀
HEY NEW BUDDY,IM GOING TO BUILD TWO .IF ANYTHING IF YOU HAD TO CHANGE SOMETHING ON THESE BUILDS WHAT WOULD IT BE .I LOVE THEM BOTH 🙂 PEACE
I know this might be a stupid question but I’ve been looking at building my first drone recently and I’m a bit confused about the power distribution board. On some videos they use them but on others (like this one) they don’t. Do I use one or not? Is there a reason why some people do and don’t use it?
please am a beginner from ghana and i want to know how i can connect it the controller itself after building the drone
Michael D same
Do a v3
I enjoyed the whole video
Question for you experienced flyers…I’ve had a few Amazon quads and drones (nothing fancy) but really like the idea of a self built, faster, fpv drone. I realize this is the price of the drone build only, but what prices are reasonable for a beginner type controller that will last me a while, and what kind of fpv headset should I look into and price range? (Not sure if that’s even the correct term btw.) As far as wiring, soldering, esc programming, and the actual build, im very confident with doing but don’t know what else I need to get it flying with a good view. Thanks in advance for any tips or recommendations guys.
Love it thanks mate just what I’m looking for and needed the help cheers
*I love those waterproof fpv racing drones!*
*What a little cool remote control they use!*
*Perfect for a backpack!*
Where is this location where you’re flying the drones at the end? About to get into drones and just discovered it’s near impossible in NYC.
Hey guys for the basic build which esc was it ,cause the page was not loading for me.
I wish I watched this earlier so I could win.
But I think I will make it anyway
Hey is it capable of snapping picture my teacher said we are going to build a drone capable of snapping picture
I’m new to Drones and I’m going to build one of these so I Will definitely take your advice into consideration 🙂
please do a 2019 version! as of now, all those Pro version build is about 190$:(
I was going to get a dji spark but this seems like infinitely better.
Super cool video
what kinda batteries do you recomend for this
Still got the 99$ deals?
when i checked the parts, it came up to 180 dollars minimum pls can you give one to me pls i beg you.
Two questions.
Weight, are they under 0.55 pounds?
How much doe the flight controller help you fly? These have to be hard as heck to fly.
Nice video dude, thank
well,i luv your videos but can we have a 2019 version of this build plz…..
im your big fan from india
ive already built a 450 sized quad , but want to get in fpv racing…
What’s the end music called?
Busy building the pro series. What controller can I get with a screen to view the live footage that will work with the tx5258? How do you record the footage with the pro series?
This is the best vid think for the thing you do
God bless you
2019?
what are the pro props?
wow man the radio transmitter is already 70€..
This was so useful! The video I just needed to start this hobby. Cheap, durable, and it has power! Only thing I worry is the battery, so what kind of battery is good. Otherwise good and helpful video! Keep it up!
Hope I win good luck to everyone else
IS there a non fpv version
I’m thinking about building the pro version. Do the motors only come with CW thread? I cant seem to find a CCW version.
What is the receiver on this build , I cant see any receiver which transmitter or receiver i need to buy.(Is the vtx is receiver for this drone, can i use it with flysky i6s)
Regarding the Racerstar StarF4S 30A ESC Flight Controller in this video (I just purchased two of them), is it possible to use them with an IBUS receiver? The printed wrapper indicates that one of the pads is an SBUS connection but I have a Flysky transmitter and a Flysky FS-A8S receiver – IBUS. I tried a variety of settings in Betaflight but couldn’t get the combination working. And I’m unable to find anything online about pairing this ESC-FC combo with an IBUS receiver. Any help would be appreciated. I wanna go fly!
This requires pure skill to fly fast and precise, i recommmend in first step buy cheap radio like FlySky FSI6 and practice in simulator to learn (DCL-drone racing leauge is very realistic and free on steam) if you master simulator THEN go fly real drones!
Can I just buy one already built off you…
Ok so you suggested motors for the pro build but they are only cw rotation, what about ccw rotation?
unmanned aerial vehicles. gift me the wings of flight.
Thanks for the great tutorial! I’ve built myself the pro version including the RaceStar STARF4S FC. Now when I connect the battery it takes forever for the drone to calibrate (sometimes it works but I don’t know why). Do you have any idea what could cause this problem?
Could you do an updated video and made a couple different price points? Like $100-500?
Hi Stew, I have built the pro version drone and purchased the Turnigy Evolution and can’t get them to work together. I have no problems binding them and I see the drone tip and tilt in BetaFlight but the joysticks are not getting through to betaflight. I have purchased 20 complete kits for a Boy Scout High Adventure and really need to figure this out. I spent a little time on you discord and a couple guys tried to help but no luck. Please, if you could help me over this hump I would really appreciate it. I built your first cheap drone build several years ago and still fly it, it was a 5 video series and was easy to follow and get working. This time you showed no controller and no betaflight info, so an old fart like me is lost. (I’m 62 years old, but love FPV and enjoy getting others involved. I also purchased Eachine EV100’s for all the boys, so once the joysticks are working then I will work at getting the FPV part working.
Thanks
wkinne
I’m new to this stuff… the video doesn’t talk a bout a battery? Doesn’t the drone need a power source?
what receiver do you use?
How much does it way?
May I ask how I should choose the remote controller ? And one more question is that how can we download the software which is used to adjust the direction of the rotation of the motor , the one you mentioned about ‘2 clicks’ to set up the rotation direction
Just put a powerful and lightweight battery
I also don’t know
Wait try connecting it again
Awesome build man! This is very similar to how I got into FVP drone flying. At the time you had not made your last $99 build video so I did my research and worked hard to find what I needed to get in the air with my budget. I was able to get my brother in law into FPV drones by showing him your $99 build video and he got all the parts and built his as well! Keep up the good work.
Hey Wayne, it sounds like you are able to connect the flight controller to your computer if you go to the “receiver” tab in beta flight do you see any of the bars moving? If not then I would work backward by first looking at your connection points from your receiver to the Flight Controller, is your receiver getting power and the light (if it has one) is glowing on the receiver, do you have the receiver wires connected to the correct pads on the flight controller for the protocol your transmitter uses? if your receiver is able to be connected to a servo (and you have one handy) that is a good way to ensure your connection between the transmitter and the receiver isn’t the culprit.
+David Wood I got on Stans’ Discord channel and there were sooooo many wonderful, smart, helpful guys on there and they got me fixed right up! I was taken aback by just how willing they were to help a buggy old man. They had to explain some things 4 or 6 times and never did anyone complain, grip, or just leave discord, they would just chuckle about it and keep on helping, what a great bunch of guys. THANKS GUYS!!!!!
Eachine TX5258 is not working with 5 volts, it has 7-24 volts requirement, but you soldered it to 5 volts, does it work in your case?
I love your content, I wish I could build my own but I still don’t have enough money
This is so freakin cool. I’m coming from an audio background. Soldering audio cables etc… so this is neat !!! I would love to build one just for the video /photography aspect. Something different to add to my videos.
Also I want to add how good are the cameras ??? I have a Phantom 3 standard now and think the stabilization and video quality is excellent. Is there a camera I can buy that’s similar to that one??
Its in the discription i think
Can you put a GoPro on top?
I’m stuck will the ominous f4 flight controller support the R-xsr receiver Sbus.I’m having issues on how to tell if it will support my rx protocol,. I’m getting the Frsky Taranis X9 Lite 2.4G 24CH Radio Transmitter w/ ACCESS Protocol and another issue how do I know if the receiver I want is gonna support access and this transmitter, but the one I think I need to get is the FrSky R-XSR 2.4GHz 16CH ACCST Micro Receiver w/ S-Bus & CPPM and download the new access on to it
Will the flight control in the 99 dollar build support this receiver I want to be able to use the smart port and or telemetry what I have read says that only f3 and f7 processors are the only ones that support Frsky Sbus protocol. and for the future builds how do I know if the flight controller will support Frsky Sbus if inverted. will Any flight controller work if inverted. Please help me thank
Hey Stew, thank you for making these great videos. It is very helpful. I used this to make the pro build. Everything started out going well, but this morning one of the ESCs on my racestar controller started on fire before I got off the ground. This was my third time flying and have never had an issue before. Have you ever seen this happen? There is no evidence of anything shorting it out, I think the ESC just went bad.
One thing you didn’t talked about and show us some examples are the remote controls, what’s the best ones to coose plz ?
That’s awesome I want one see! So fast! How do I win!
Same
What battery should I use? Im building my own drone rn and Im using this vid as a general build guide (btw Its going to end up all in all costing about 250$!) I was wondering if someone knew any good batteries that are preferably cheap but that i wont need to later replace. Also thanks a lot UAVfutures for these awesome videos!
What song is this at the end?
what algorithm specific instructions for entering the contest you have there.
Is there a prebuilt one you can get? Doing some research now
Give the build a go mate! It’s not as tricky as it looks.
This is a hobby which I wouldn’t mind taking up ?
How do you connect the upgraded mateksys vtx hv ? Theres no connectors or wires that came with it
The esc link for base version is not working. Please fix
Could you make a V3?
I found this video really awesome.
How do you connect the drone to a controller? New to this and I’m missing info
Get a diatone gtr349 and an xm+ receiver, it does 112mph for like $20 more than this, 850mah 4s batteries are $10 less per battery than ones for this drone as well.
Hassen Zero He has lots of vids for that. Top 3 picks would probs be the Taranis X9D, Taranis QX7, and the turnigy evolution.
Hey uav I’m new to the drone stuff so far I got one tiny little micro drone but it broke within 12 hours so I got it replaced and that one also broke a few hours later. I loved this video I’m going to try these builds and I’ll lyk!!! Thank you so much man keep making this sick videos
I want to buy Tish drown
How to buy this drown
Is there a way to correct the soldering if like you accidentally melted the metal together with the wire next to it. Does that affect anything? I’d assume it would. But would you have to buy a whole new electrical chip?
Hello Stew, I positively LOVE your guides and have chosen the pro version described here as my very first build!
Question: can you suggest an alternative FC that would support SmartAudio, Sbus & SmartPort, and GPS?
How about the Dalrc F405 AIO betaflight F4 – would that be a good fit?
Thanks in advance!
Dude you helped me out so much I just started getting back into drones and this is the fpv drone I want to build I can’t believe how fast yours is, when I start buliding I am going to go to your video and only yours
I believe you can buy a different type of frame and you can give it upgrade motors to give it that same power it had before
Nah, you’re fine as long as you don’t power it up with the contacts touching. Just remove some solder so the contacts are separate again, and you’re good to go.
I would love if you did a build in asmr
How much did the probuild cost?
2019 Version!!!
It’s very cool!
Is there a link where I can buy the full pro build package one hit instead of having to buy everything individual?
Anyone brand new to drones. Do yourself a favor, save time and money and try a sim first then move up to like a tiny whoop. Dont try building your first drone. It’s a headache that may kill the desire to try the hobby. Work your way up.
This is awesome. May be I can build one with my 9 year old son. He loves this kind of stuff.
Answer this please on the fence which would be better getting a wizard x220s or building this pro version which would be best bang for my buck? thank you
The pro
150.25$ in 2019
What battery should you use
I love this video and I think it cool how you showed the video of it flying
Hey banana joe I agree with you have you should do 2019 video
Amazing info! Cant wait to make my own!
Could you post a link the the batteries that will go with this build
Can you use the props from the BASE Build and use it on the PRO build?
Ocean city NJ !
Hi dear friend, is possible to make from this kind of drone long range?? And what l need it for that. Thanks body and have a great weekend
dude i am new to fpv drones, i had a promblem. how to connect the base model drone to a controller and the camera? pls respond mate
yes Sigh
Hi do you think that you would be able to put a GoPro hero 5 on the pro build ? Or is it too heavy ?
Love your videos. You took us (my sons and I) from being doomed to buying overpriced, pre-built, low quality drones to building our own quads. Your videos have been invaluable to us, and have made the time my sons and I spend together building and flying quads more enjoyable than ever. Can’t wait to build this one! A million thanks!
I dont do drone racing but i would realy want to where i live you dont get racing drones so would like if some one can help me
plz do a 2019
But that transmitter isn’t included
I enjoined this video
Awesome
Waiting for the 2019 version!
Could you now put all parts needed in one transaction where we can just buy all from one supplier and we just need to assemble it once it arrives at home? What about the remote control needed to fly this copter? Which one on the budget do you recommend? Thanks
Edit: When I put the parts together I end up with $160,- and not with $99,-!
Battery? How long does this last and what’s the range?
yeEt
I know this was a long time ago. But if your still willing to donate a kwad ole slimventor_sumo could use one . Flying my h107c still
You talk more than you do things
Great video! Very informative, I have a Phantom 3 wanting to get into FPV racing. This video gave me the confidence to do so.
you could’ve made this video half an our shorter with just not talking so much. still A good video tho, thanks
Can you slap a gopro on it?
That is sick as the racing
How do i connect my spektrum receiver to the pro version
Great video
I’m writing this comment after my third watching
This video hell me a lot to build my first drone !
Great job man !
Thank you a lot !
It’s over 150$ for the pro version now
How Long does the drone fly and is it good for Freestyle fpv?
TGW Echo just looking to buy the parts the total cost is $350
Where can I get all the parts ?
Where can I get all these parts ?
@Dallas Brown what? I added all to cart yesterday and it was 150$ before shipping in the United states
Wher do you get one of these builds?
which battery I need to buy for the base drone ??
Can you post link whear can buy battery for this drone
I enjoyed the video it was very helpful
Nice!!! this made me realy want to get inteo this sport 😛
Didnt know it could be cheap now im in and want to start how much do you charge for a kit
Crikeyyy…!!
I am actually into helis but this got me tickled. I want one now. A friend of mine has one and I did a flip with him yesterday with his spare goggles. loved it. I AM HOOKED
I love drones but they are to expensive
For me
Then get off your lazy ass and get a job!
what’s the range
great video but it would be better to solder the cables by inserting its tip from under the board and solder above it
Owning a drone would be a dream come true… one day i will. Esp designing building my own. I feel pumped up! Thank you for the video. Great job. Keep it up???
It looks easy and verry verry cool !
Love the video, what else would I need to fly it? A remote and what about the vr system?
I really want it.. ??
Very helpfun thx
You dont sell them in india?
Whats in the kit in this video??
So, I see soldering is quite a commodity in being able to save A LOT of money on building a kick ass drone. Not to mention this would be an awesome project while learning to fly on a SIM and tiny whoop. Also for pretty much a dollar or 2 here and there some serious upgrades can be made. It makes me wonder what can be done with a $200 budget for just the quad. I’m really glad that I’m running across these videos early in my pursuit of this hobby/sport. Thank you for all your work and time in making these videos! I can even invest in a better than average radio and use it on a SIM while I get money together for a better pair of goggles. Use them both on a SIM while learning on a SIM still and saving for a nicer whoop quad. In all reality, building a 5″ quad with better parts over the period of a month or so instead of feeling like I have to buy all the parts at once to get up in the air. I’m an IT Tech by trade, so tinkering with things is already a hobby of mine. Making things better, faster, etc. This whole process is right up my alley!!! THANK YOU, AGAIN!!!
Super cool and cheap but to get goggles and a controller it is almost 400$
Fun to watch
that is so so so dam cool. how do you guys get to fly the drones so fast? or is the question rater how long are you guys flying drones for now.. your so talented in flying and building them as well
I’ve been wanting to get into drone racing/flying for a very king time and this is a rlly helpful guide
Sir please give me sir?
I have an DX8 radio. can i use it with there components ?
What it looks like in comparison with wizard x220s?
$100 lol… Just the ESC + FC Combo is $90..
This video was so cool loved it and its amazing how you managed to build such a good drone for $100 can’t wait to see if i can build it. By the way you are really funny and it’s so easy to follow your tutorial.
Not much, but yes you would need a remote control, I recommend the fly sky one it’s $50 and a great controller. If you want to fly it with fpv (first person view) then you would need a set of fpv goggles, but the good ones are all really expensive. At the bottom of the description there are some suggested ones. Hope this helps 🙂
do you have to buy the remote control seperately?
Love the video i just startsd fpv
will this be able to lift a go pro easily??
550$ down the drain
6 months later
Confused asf
I should’ve bought something better.
I wish things were more clear about binding radios and how to use s bus if you went on a budget build.
I wish I bought an acrobee rtf kit instead and worked my way from there.
what battery do you use
I just started on drones but the racing drones are pretty sweet not gonna lie and I would like to have one?
What about a transmitter?
Why so much down the drain?
Both drones are very lovely, so I’m 9 months late but that’s ok, information to last a life time (or the life of current tech). Cheers!
Stu, is this still valid for 2019?
Cameron Jones you are nine months late
which lipo do you use ?
Do you sell whole pro kits?
Frank Dong Yes you have to buy the remote separately. But you can get one cheap for around $50.
Hey can you tell me if the motors can be put together with LEGO parts ?
just my luck. video old.. no chance to win. hehehehe how much does controller gear cost?
What I hate about the after market hobby industry is that it makes everything look really vheap
I’m new to hobby and a bit confused by all the different batteries. Could you tell me what size
battery to order for this pro version drone? How many do you need and what to charge it with or cycle it or whatever else I need to get this started. Can the same sized battery be used for the skyzone 02x goggles?
Mate I looked at the links, fpv goggles are at least 200$ minimum, and a remote will also cost at least $100 as well, so it gonna probably spending at least over $300 easy. Take it from me, but it is certainly tempting to build tho.
Me: wow $100 race drone? Heck yeah sure I’ll make it.
Also me: sees $200 fpv goggles and $150 remote.
Me again:
Battery name to use?
hi can i arbor some of your old drones?
ive been dreaming of it ?
@mxpro 64 .20 DARN, CANNOT AFFORD IT. ON DISABILITY INCOME. VERY VERY LIMITED BUDGET…. TIS LIFE……
So this doesn’t factor in battery cost right?
Can you mount a gopro on it?
Is bangood legit? I just placed an order but am concerned it could be a scam
tenjohn231 very easily
It is legit
Buy a battery from 1500 mah to 2200 mah. The bigger is not allways better!
It must be at least 60C that means it can handle the current 60 times the cappacity. Buy at least 2 batteries so you can have about 20 minutes of flight time to a one hour of charging. For charging you will need a lipo battery charger.
Hi
Hai boss
Are you comedy 99 its possible
@DroneMatesFPVitspossibld
It would be great to have a 2019 version of this
The part at the end with whop and ur done is kinda “lets skip the receiver, batteries, binding, betaflight config, radio config” .That’s not a full guide. that’s a 1/4 of a guide
Stew? Does the bigger /slower- video type drones do better being bigger? does big props and lower throttle make battery last longer ?
Yeah I order off bangood, all good and not a scam. Btw, I see y u would be sceptical though?
Wondering if you will be doing a 2019 version anytime soon?
@mxpro 64 .20 haha yes, it seems to good to be true.
@XJlover I also buy batteries of their as well. Everywhere else charges much more.
How to do a tunning of this drone..?
Loved this vid best rn drone tutorial ever I like the VR feature wish I had one
This build doenst include a power supply or a controller? How would this fly without these 2 components?
You are not limited to his radio or FPV goggles. You can get a pair of functional goggles AND decent radio for around $100. The Eachine VR D3’s are only around $60 and the FlySky i6X for around $50. The radio comes with an RX, so you don’t even need to order the one listed!
@Kaity M thanks man. Btw, do u need a certain radio cos I have an older one that I want to use, and don’t know if it will work. It’s just an average 2.4ghz radio so I’d like to use it. Plz reply if u think I can?
2019 version!
@mxpro 64 .20 You might be able to use your radio provided you have an appropriate RX to bid to. For quads, you can fly them with 6 channel equipment, possibly with 4 channel. What radio do you have?
idk if I’m dumb cuz i don’t see a battery option for the drone does it come with something or what??
how big is the battery u used in this vid for the drone???¨
What battery can you fit on the frame
Doing some reasearch before i buy my first rc drone and i came across this vid …. very informative and and very well put together .
Thank you
Sorry link doesn’t work.
Joshua O’Loughlin He has already made a 2019 race drone, but it is less budget and more performance. I guess the budget parts haven’t changed enough in 10 months.
@mxpro 64 .20 I will definitely look into the batteries I can’t afford to buy everything at this time I just got all the parts to build the drone and I’m going to wait a few paycheques till I can afford goggles and a radio then wait a bit longer and get batteries and anything else I may need.
@XJlover if you are after a good cheap remote, your best bet would be the: Free Sky Taranis X9
Do i need a extra Receiver for the 2.4 ghz remote ? Or does this work over the tx5258 5.8 ghz fpv ?
hey me to im fasinated! what did the pro one cost?
@mxpro 64 .20 thank you for the advice I’ve actually been looking into that one and seen good reviews. That’s probly what I’ll go for once the quad parts come in and I have the money!!
Which RC Transmitter mode are you using?
Where do you put the RX receiver?
are they strong enough to carry a Go Pro on them?
Rene G. Yes you need a receiver for your remote
Yes
Yea
Correct
Batteries?
can I put a go pro on it?
@Gus McGee thank you!
1:38 Ali-A is that you
What would the performance of this $99 build vs. eachine x220hv complete be?
What model u use for that pro build fpv camera..is it NTSC or PAL
It has to be better. I’m watching this video because my Eachine 250 is so proprietary and when I tried to use my new Jumper t16 radio with it it messed up the flight controler.
I figure I’m ready for better and this video if it’s true will get better for 1/2 the price as new eachine 250
My total was 147.33 ?
What is the weight of the pro version without battery?
Could you do a 2019 version plzz
I built the pro version, and watched many many videos on how to set everything up in betaflight. When I did my maiden flight test I got it into a hover (in angle mode) and it all seemed fine. However as soon as i applied a slight yaw it freaked and flipped over. I’m sure it is not gonna be an easy problem to troubleshoot but does anyone know what could cause this?
Love yr vid uav future that for showing us how to build our quards
What if you are changing your motors or fpv camera, can you un-solder those wires and easily solder new ones?
This stuff is confusing. What if during soldering you accidentally solder two places together on the ESC?
Ohh nice wanna make one and sell it in SA
Hi Stu, im thinking about building the $99 V2 pro build. Just wanted to know if the RaceStar StarF4S 4 in 1 esc is compatible with an i-bus receiver like the flysky X6B? Both versions of this build really do look awesome. Cheers.
Would the pro version be a good quad to start out with freestyle FPV Im very new to this hobby but i would definitely like to build my first quad so i know how everything goes together but any guidance would be much appreciated.
SO cool i don’t have a drone yet but don’t have the money
Hello buddy great work…. i brought the same set of equipment… built n it was flying well… using star f4s FC… suddenly receiver tab is not working on heta flight…. flashed fc with latest firmware… receiver bind well… green light is on… still i don’t see any movement on the receiver tab…. could you please help me out
what kind of camera would you recommend for drone fishing? i used my phantom the other day on the ocean, and there was so much glare. is there such a thing as an anti glare lens or antiglare camera you would recommend? thanks
Remove it by taping the solder iron onto it and cleaning the solder iron a few times over and over again thill there is no problem.
Luke I would say you should check how your props are installed if installed incorrectly it will flip like you mentioned
@Colton COnverse I’m quite sure the props are on correctly. If they weren’t then it would insta-flip wouldn’t it? But I am able to hover nicely, pitch and roll is fine, but as soon as I give it some yaw it flips and goes nuts.
These are cool. This video showed up on my suggested videos. Had no clue you could do this for cheap
I am so close to finishing my build but I need 1 more item to finish it off. I need a reliable gopro mount for my drone. And I need help fast!
Bhai you are awesome
Awesome info man! Highly appreciated. I’m just getting into this and have never built a drone. I also don’t own one yet either and had no idea one could be built so cheap. Thank you for that. I just purchased a radio and I’m just starting to use Velocidrone. Me and a few friends are all getting into this together. I have to say that my favorite part of the video is all of it. Lol. As I said already, I had no idea this could be done so cheap. Thanks again man. Definitely looking forward to more videos.
But what battery to use?
Where is the transmiter
These are awesome first. I gave a friend an older one of mine bec hes been outa work . And he loves it, like always flying it, building electronics. Hes older nd feels like a kid that believes in Santa is how happy I gave to him. He would blown away if he got picked. Nd no he doesn’t know I wrote this. Thx for ur knowledge too
Good
99$ drone! Yeah! But don’t forget about 70$+ for remote and 60$+ for cheapest FPV helm
awesome
is that compatible to all antenna remote control? I’m a bigginer sir. please consider this message.
Meanwhile i am finishing the first version of the $100 drone
took me 3 years…
welp
You didn’t mention the googles in the video
No mention of batteries?
could someone help me out, where are thePDB’s? are they built into these flight controllers?
Can someone explain me how to connect the suggested upgraded VTX? Matek VTX-HV. (useing the Racerstar StarF4S 30A)
In this video he solders it to the 5v.
But if i look at the product information it says that the Voltage input is the 7-27v.
Where do i connect the 7-27v? or can i just use the 5v?
please help, stuck while building the drone atm.

Edit: Found an answer, Connect it to the battery + / -. Don’t connect to 5v
does this drone go with a x q 7 controlor
what size battery does this drone use?????? No where do you mention anything about the battery.
What capacity and C rating battery are you using with these? Also, what kind of flight time are you getting with respect to those batteries?
22:45 for v2
Damn that sucksss, personally not rly sure how to do that but I just ordered all the parts as well and I purposely got the one that he showed how because I had no idea how to do the one ur using
2019 version? Would like to get some parts together for a winter basher build. Thanks for the help!
2019 version? Would like to get some parts together for a winter basher build. Thanks for the help!
Does anyone know if you could use 5V out on the vtx to power the camera instead of putting both 5V wires on the same pad I am thinking possible but maybe not ideal…? Especially with the distance from vtx to camera Also this vtx says 7-24V is 5V suitable?
Those seem a little high. Take a look on ebay/craigslist/local classifieds, should be able to get some real cheap gear.
Yes it does do sbus
4s
He uses 4s lipos at 1500 mah
@Thomas Games 4s 2200 mah?
That’s too heavy try the ones I put in
Its 1500 mah and it is lightweight so you get good speed
My own custom build was about 190 dollars still worth it
@Owen Flaherty cheaper than i wrote above? You gonna buy piece of scrap)
@Noksvell s Not really, just looking now, and I’m seeing a FS-i6 with FS-iA6 for $30 and a few models of the older fatsharks for ~$40
Is this still a relevant build?
As a completely new starter to fpv drones, can anyone recommend a good cheap controller and goggle set??
how much will it cost if you build it for me?
RGB !!!!
Can you use any controller like a DX6i controller?
I’m just starting out this video really piqued my interest because I don’t want to crash $1,000 drone and I’m going to crash. Thanks for the info
ye u dont need a pdb
1500mah to 1800mah 60c or above with 3s or 4s
Do you recommend any cheaper batteries near $10?
same, just hard to find time
Can you explain how you stream the camera to your phone or controller?
Hello can you please give me one of your drone ?i really really want a drone i hope you’ll give me one
$99 build. car with no tires or keys
Wow those are so Fricken fast. So sweet. Just blown away what you have created for the money. Mad skills man!!!
So these flight controllers have everything on them and you don’t need a PCB ?? Have I missed something ?? lol, Obvs a newbie
As long as you build in a Receiver that is compatible with your remote controll.
Am I the only one who thinks the standard version looks better?
it dosnt stream directly to a phone or computer, it streams to real time goggles so its first person
“im trying to not get my head in the video guys…”
2 seconds later: *puts head under camera*
Its not worth it
Wut
There are none
You need the correct reciever with the transmitter
I know this was posted 10 months ago but it cost like 200+ for the basic version
@buildIT. what do you mean its worth it?
@James Enloe better learn the electronics yourselves and dont ask for that i guess the price would be to high
Don’t buy this tho
You want to get a battery with the highest c rating you can get ayleast 70. Hovering with this quad gives you around 5 min flight time. So as with every other 5″ quad. But don’t build this quadcopter. There are many different builds that are decent at the same price
@buildIT. im going to buy one thats got good reviews and comes with the drone and hand controller. im not going to lose money. im being smart on this.
@James Enloe yeah i never said that you are dumb i just said that its not worth it to let him built THIS exact drone
Are all these DIY drones so skeletal? I have yet to see a closed body one or even one that at least just has a middle cover.
@Felix S Yeah, I figured that. Voltage sag is probably a big problem with these at low C rating. Plus i’m sure they draw some crazy current at points. I was thinking of getting into FPV flying and wanted to build a quad that I can buzz around with (not crazy speeds), and that has a decent battery life. But obviously I don’t want to spend $500 like any sane college student. Worst part is, the goggles and everything else that goes with just the drone itself is super expensive. Looks like loads of fun though.
This was to fast for a newb like me. A lot is unclear.
Like the wires from the motor to the board, powering of the VTX.
@Gerard Gibson you can get a flyskyi6x for 40$ eachine ev800 goggles for also 40$. And buy like a small drone like the eachine trashcan or the mobula 7 for max 100$ everything all to tether will cost around 200$ including a fee drones and a charger. If you need more help for which parts you should buy just ask me for my discord
It depends, some flight controllers (FCs) have nearly everything on them. Some even have integrated ESCs, in which case you just need to add a VTX, camera and RC receiver. Did you mean PDBs? A lot of modern FCs now have PDB circuitry included and so you don’t now need a separate PDB. It is really a waste of limited space to allocate an entire layer in the stack for power a distribution board. A 4in1 ESC might be a better use of the space, depending on your objectives and budget.
It’s all about shopping around for deals on the parts. You can look for alternative cheap carbon fibre frames. Also Bangood is one of the cheapest suppliers. So if you don’t see the part at the same price as when it was put together by Stu, you can go for another with similar specs. Check the clearance section. Put in a general description (E.g. F4 Flight Controller) then sort by price Low-High. The quadcopters shown exclude a RC receiver or battery. Also you will need a Transmitter and FPV goggles. Although a Flysky i6 and Eachine Box goggles can get you started for less than $50 each. Don’t forget, you will end up with a performance quadcopter which is definitely not a toy and the initial investment in a transmitter and goggles will be worth it in the long run.
Thanks for the video! I simply can’t wait to get started flying!
End song please !!
Can I buy these drones from you.?
my full support!
The f4 wont be in bootloader mode help.
So I got everything marked down on what I want for the pro build but I cant find just one xt60 connector anywhere. Also the antenna, velcro strap, and emax props. I tried messaging you but dont know how. Send me some links or something please! Love your videos.also what radio do I need.
you should do a giveaway for each time you said “down below”, “beauty” or “today”
styoo
poope hed
Josh Hill stew does it’s about a year or two old tho it’s called how to get fpv drone racing for under 300
Appreciate the tips and guidance. This beast is a lot of fun! The sky is the limit….. well 400 ft cap is the limit…….
U HAVE to do v3
HELLO FROM PAKISTAN it is wonderful how amazing they fly and this price point these are amazing
How do you record the video content of the flying drone? Is there any receiver for stuff like this?
Hey I’m a noob to this but I really want to build one.. my only confusing part is about the actual controller.. how do I connect one? Thanks
where does the battery go
Where tf is the battery
hi great video im new to all this what radio will i need to fly this please
what battery should i put in the drone
found this video after looking into prebuilts. you got my sub! Thanks!
UAVfutures hey I’m a big fan but I’m scared with this built I ordered everything I need but I needed to k is if I will need a receiver
I’ve never seen your videos before, popped up in suggested. I’m very interested in this particular topic. After five and a half minutes of you saying the same two or three things over and over and over and over and over and over again, I just can’t do it. Sorry man, you seem like a good guy, but I can’t spend 41 minutes watching six minutes of content.
Most receivers have a bind button, you’ll have to press that when connecting the battery. The radio (controller) will also have a bind feature.
mean bro keep up the good work !!
Hey man! I’ve been a big fan of the channel for a good while now but I’ve JUST subscribed :/. Since I watched your videos so often they aree always in my feed.
I’ve been watching fpv racing for years now but I don’t have the money to be able to get into the sport ?. When I was young I raced off-road trucks at the local track and I have this passion for R/C and these fpv racers have REALLY grabbed my attention and the strong wish to be able to one day be able to get into it. With my kids I make sure they have everything they need and the toys they like but It would be AMAZING for me to be a kid again for once and get back into the hobby. I was HEAVILY into R/C racing when I was younger and I would love to get my little boy into it as well. Of course I want to be able to present different forms of R/C to him for him to choose which he likes best. I started when I was 12 years old racing a Team Losi XXT CR with all of the best of upgrade,,batteries, airtronics controller and receiver, Tekin speed controller and Tekin charger and peak charger. Had a blast building itand breaking it down after every race night to clean and to Grease the transmission for next weekend’s race ?. I wish Ida never sold my equipment but things had to go when I started a family and I have since then gotten a tiny whoop for Xmas from my father who supporteed my r/c racing when I was younger so I’m not a stranger to the drone. Man,, it’s almost bringing me to tests reflecting back on those times I had when I was little at the local track. I placed 1st place in the Louisiana championship in B Main my first time entering it at age 14 lol. It would be a blessing to be able to have the chance on getting my foot in the door with fpv racing and to be able to introduce it to my littl.boy since he has all kinds of RC trucks and cars he has seemed to take a liking to the cheap helicopters I bought him over Xmas. Hopefully I can be chosen to be a winner for ANY of them, getting the fully built drone will be the headstart I would need tolibe like a kid again and to be able to bond with my son unlike my father did with me, he would just drop me off at the local track and give me money and pick me up with it was done, never stuck around to watch but I tuned that out and the love and passion for the sport kept m MORE than occupied ?. Keep up the great work and the great and informative videos!
Hello i am new at this hobby and found this video and i want to build the pro build and i found everything but the motors doesn’t say if they are CW or CCW so it is there a problem with that if the four motor are the same? I know i could later inverted motor but with the screw thread, i don’t know if there is a problem ? I would appreciate very much your help
what battery would you recommend for this build?
how to connect it with the remote controller and how to turn it on ? please answer this
This looks super simple.
Help I need the esc of the base build because it says don’t found ,someone knows another option?
2019 version?
Tried to build without a good instructions this looks like it will help fix most of the problems I hade
dude where is the program’s link for changing motor spin direction?
nice but in my country ship price price up from 99 to 170 🙁
I want one of these that i can fly with the goggles..
What educational degree do you have?
Does this build have a pdb
It depends on your controller and to turn it on, you just connect the battery.
I have been flying the DJI Drones and find them so easy to fly but I have watched YouTube videos of guys flying these little drones so fast and crazy upside down thru windows, trains anything are they really that easy to fly and learn using what kind of remote though? Please I would love to try one.
How fast ???
Know absolutely nothing about FPV but i think im gonna build the pro version… would i be able to fly this setup with a QX7 straight off the bat?
I love the look of the carbon-fiber however I just recently saw a video where he made the Drone frame out of Lego Kinetics I think they’re called between your profile with the electronics and his build-up of the frame the customization possibilities of it the coloring would make the information from both videos outstanding
The vtx says the input should be 7-24 volts but you soldered it to the 5v out
Can you mount a GoPro on top of that? Great Video ?
Gorgeous and really fast drones
what batt did you use
Had the same question thank you
For the pro setup could you hook up two batteries? If the size of the drone allows?
For the pro setup could you hook up two batteries? If the size of the drone allows?
Your awesome….you have helped me so much by watching your videos….I’m new to fpv and have already lost my Emax buzz but I’m building one of these now
So, gonna say you missed a semi crucial part of the build. Probably not gonna work without a battery…
can this hold a gopro hero 7
what battery do you yous?
I chose to try the race star 30 for my build but I can get it to talk to the RX…I’ve tried many different RX but no response from transmitter to FC…help?

Hi Stu, Any chance of a new $99 build for 2019? I have just seen this but it’s 11/12 months old and I don’t want to go out and buy this if I can get better? Thanks
i just ordered the same radio yesterday i belive you can fly anything with the qx7 watch mr.steeles how to FPV videos!
Interested but after building the drone now what? Remote and goggles? What’s compatible for this build, sorry I’m new lol.
Ok, if i want to use it for filming will it lift a gopro?
Would I be able to put a gopro on this
Where do I go to buy 99 drone ???
Should just make videos of you building them then put them on eBay with a link. Because you say all these tec words I don’t understand ?
And you didnt include the battery, not even in the video…
I wish I have one of this fpv… This is a informative video… Already parked… God bless
I have never flew a real drone but I plan on it and now I know you can customize your own drone
@Shayne Muise cheers!
yea
I would like to know, are these flight controllers like plug n play. I don’t understand betaflight or any of that programing on the computer, I just want to solder my motors in and fly, I don’t want to connect a computer. Are these controllers like that because I didn’t see you program.
I have a question before i start soldering. I am using the Racerstar-Starf4s30A and you mentioned that there is only on 5v. I’m looking at the diagram and i see another 5v available on the right side. Do i use that one as well for the camera or should i plug it together with the other 5v being used for the receiver as you did in the video?
I meant tx5258.
2019 version 😉 I so wanna get into this, and that speed!!! omy
Yo I’m super broke but have been wanting to get into fpv drone racing even if only racing myself I’m going all in donating plasma and all
where to buy it please?
where to buy it please?
Im looking at getting into building my first racing drone after falling in love after seeing first-person race footage.
In everybody’s opinion, are the components that are not worth cheaping out on?
My goal is to have an affordable first drone that gives a clear first-person view with a headset, medium/long range, easy to repair or replace damaged parts.
As a total noob, im ignorant about the features that make motors, cameras, chassis and wireless components good or bad. Most the store pages I have researched do nothing at all to specify what differentiates a £11 motor from a £5/£8 motor and I am a bit confused as to what compatibility issues there may be. Like with desktop pcs, are there combinations of chassis-camera-motors that dont work, or are the interfaces standardised?
Any tips or help offered would be hugely appreciated. This video was the first one I found that made sense of the assembly process for me.
What is the effective range? Is it depends on controller’s or google’s antena? Also are controller and google connected independently to the drone?
Man you are the best.
description
I’m sorry but you can’t build a quad for 99$ that is good
Don’t buy this, the parts are old and outdated
Then learn them
You have to plug in every quad to betaflight you build, without the computer you are very limited
Yeah don’t build this quad, never. Parts are crap, and outdated. Drone mesh has a good cheap beginner quad that’s actually worth building and will give you a pleasant experience
Join the uav futurs discord and ask help there
Yes but don’t build this quad
Noooooo, Don’t buy this quad
Felix S what’s ur recommendation In this range then? I thought he did a good job
@Charlie algert the parts were okay a year ago, not anymore, the parts he chose are terrible and will last you 1 month before they break. Jb. Has a website called fpvknowitall it will help you build your own quad, with good components
Please don’t, the parts are old and outdated
And unreliable
Felix S thx I’ll check it out
i went from a syma to a phantom 3,now a mavic air and always wanted to try a fpv racing drone so why not build one cheap first and learn like i did with my other drones ,thanks for the tips stew ,mite even get a battery strap off ya too :0)
Whats the max range? And is it better then the mavic air
anyone know a decent battery?
Great drone for that price! Amazing
Just don’t make this quad, the parts are old, outdated and unreliable
You need to install the correct reciever for your transmitter. And any fpv goggles work l, aslong your on the right channel and band
mines $672 with transmitter and googles! BUT i need power! where and what battery?
Would the non goggle footage been filmed on a gopro? I’m new to this and wondered why there is such a difference in quality.
Couldn’t get used to flying with goggles on so I asked a mate to fly my drone while I got familiar with it , he assured me that he had used this drone before I purchased it and was able to control it with ease, as he was taking off I told him that headless mode wasn’t set up so he was aware of the direction the craft was now in within twenty seconds he had turned the drone around so forward was back ect and flew way to high that the wind carried it down towards a field with overgrown nettles and spiky stuff that grew to a height that made Jack’s bean stalk look Small in comparison needless to say he tried to correct the problem but realized that he was actually speeding up in the wrong direction next thing he did was hand me the controller and bailed I had 5 seconds to ditch it before the range ran out only thing to do was recover it from where I had last seen it we made our way down to the area the camera was still connected but the motors were jammed we could see trees more spiky stuff that was our only clue to where it was we were hoping to see movement on screen if we came close, after a while my phone and drone battery died and legs cut to bits we decided to give up and buy a new one hopefully in the future , basically I’ve been on YouTube researching drones on a budget and came across your video so now I’m thinking that I could build my own . Could you do another video like this with prices for August 2019 thanks will follow your channel as you’ve peaked my interest in building and racing . sorry for long comment just needed to vent a little lol ?
I know I’m late commenting on this video before anyone points it out
Please please please do one this year too!
2019 UPDATE: $115.54 using those exacts links with so digging I might find it cheaper
But in the pro version the transmitter for the receiver is installed?, because from what I see is inserted only the one for the fvp glasses
Just don’t build it
Just don’t build this. Please
What’s the battery life difference between the cheapest motors and the upgraded ones?
Yes, the non goggle fottage (Which is called DVR) was recorded with a gopro
I don’t have this build, and you shouldn’t built it either. But the avg flight time is 3min freestyle
@Felix S did you not see this video lol?
He literally proved you wrong.
@randomshittutorials well then, add all products in the cart and see what the total is
UAVfutures it adds up to about $200 just sayin
Your not telling us Size of Props? What Version of Emax avian Propellers they are with the turn up ends? Need spec man specs !!!! If I’m going to build the same drone need more info!!!! On Parts !!!! Not just some vague mumbling of what it might be?
Do you realize how many types sizes there are? I’m sure you do! I could list crap for an hour!! 4024s, 4028s, 5028s, 5026s, 5030s, ect ect ect Think I’ve my point!!!!! If your going to tell us how to build something, Then give us something to go on?
Don’t use the Samguk motors and get the mamba stack instead.
Emax eco are much better
And a different camera
Just please Don’t build this.
Join the uav futures discord for a good quad
And how would I run if I’d go for the dji camera + controller ?
Do you have any info as far as where to solder a receiver to the racer star f4s ?
🙁 I’m a year too late
just got into the hobby. this is EXACTLY the kind of project i love. thank you
Anyone know the song at the end?
This good quality drone I mean this is hd version or 4k
Man I like your vids, but please tone down that over enthusiastic intro. There’s actually a growing number of people who find it really off-putting because when you are watching youtube for a long time EVERYONE is doing it, and it is like come on dude calm the F down.
Sorry, but what battery recommend for this drone
he can do what he wants dude lol. Some people find it friendly and some speds like you think its offending them in some way aha. Go watch some other drone guy if you dont appreciate his efforts in video making.
Oh my god this is the best way for someone to start the sport without having to spend too much. Since most camera drones with high quality cost way more than $500. Based on this factor many people give up their ideas of doing the sport. This video is extremely helpful for newcomers to the sport. It’s extremely helpful when someone with such expertise can share their knowledge on the sport, since it’s very hard to get into the sport unless you have a lot of money. People like you are great since you have shared your knowledge and time for just for us. These videos are extremely inspiring for people interested in drones and they definitely will bring more people to the sport.
Ishaq There is something wrong with you. Kindly go away.
@Ishmael Maphingers just let him do what he wants. He does to have to change his whole vid to please 2% of his audience while 98% could be losing something.
@Ishaq I am OBVIOUSLY talking about in general, in future vids. I don’t expect him to change this specific video. Why are you so offended by my constructive criticism? Why are you so desperate to defend this guy? Nevermind…I don’t want to know because I don’t care, and I also told you to go away.
@Ishmael Maphingers righto mate. Constructive criticism is now telling them to just eradicate good parts of their video. Hes a top notch good bloke with good videos so thats why im defending him. We will leave it there otherwise it could go on and on lol.
@Ishaq We get it….you’re an idiot. Learn to shut up and move on.
You just made me want to build one but I have no experience lol
what battery did you use?
Mate, what am I supposed to do with the vtx on the pro build? Im no expert but I don’t see a 7-24v port on my fc.
So like can I pay u 120$ for u to build me one? I have no clue how to do all the tech stuff but I really wanna try and get into the fpv drones
Well, I guess I just got the drone bug dammit!!! Where’s my wallet?
will love to build one for my filming on my sailboat so speed iso k but i like somting i can use when i am sailing thanks good video
I think he makes it easy to be able to follow an complete
You can put wires straight from the battery pads where the xt60 is connected. But I wired my matek vtx to a free 5v to a free 5v from the FC to the VTX and same with ground.
4S 1300 – 1500 mah
@Stig Lindqvist cheers. I probably should have figured that out ?
Does anybody know what sort of Battery is used for this kind of Drone?
Ethan j just tip; start with normal drones first ( if you haven’t yet). Doesn’t have to be a 200 dollar drone. A 20 dollar drone is fine. It’s just to see if you really like it and get the hang of the basics. When you’re done with it you can also take it apart and rebuild it to get familiar with “all the tech stuff”
Stijn Rousch thanks for the reply, I actually have a DJI mavic pro, I’m more on the side of using drones for film and photo and one of these FPV drones seems like it would be great for things like car chases and quickly maneuvering through buildings and other obstacles.
4s lipo about 1000 to 2500 mah
Is this drone compatible with dji’s New FPV system?
What’s wrong with these youtubers and going over the top with their retarded hand gestures when they speak? How annoying.
Me : great $99 drone can have some cheap fun with this. “orders parts and builds”
“scratches head” need a fucking controller as well ?
Hey bro i want one! Seriously i want one to build plus $99 goggles you did a vid on and a controller to suit! I just got a dji spark and love it. But im a rev head n own a sick XR6 TURBO used to love building slot cars so this is the next step. Pls msg me, leave a number im serious!
Hey im talkin about the better one of the two or even the 115mph ones you did a vid on.
NOT trying to be Debby Downer but be advised that you are also going to need batteries, battery charger, FPV goggles and remote all up you won’t have much change from $500 to get into the hobby.
Your enthusiasm and achievements for new comers to the hobby??
I would like to win pro drone
This is very exciting. I can’t wait to build one!
Can you 3d print the frame
Need one plzz don’t have one
2 questions:
1) will one of these units hover? If not what is needed to make it hover.
2) will they return if you fly it out of range? If not what is needed to do that?
Thanks. Gonna try building a couple with my son.
Can they go slower than that? I wonder if I can use a build like this for photography and videography but they seem crazy fast.
What would the weight be in grams of this drone? Is it less than 250g? I’m in Canada, hence that’s the reason I ask.
How much flight time do you get
They weight around 650g with the battery.
2019 version
love ya videos mate
What’s the difference between the vtx and the full PRO listed under the pro build?
No receiver? Battery? Hello? Way to skip over a million topics…
Uhhh where does the receiver go
I enjoyed the colors, the shapes and audio in the video
you need a cinimatic drone then, like a DJI drone, this is for racing, but you can tweak the motor rotation speed in betaflight to make it slower.
This is a great video and resource. Subscribed!
Im anoyed asf
Love it, Love it! Those things are so friggin Fast!
Ive owned lots o toy drones but never one with brushless motors,Wow.
Youre an amazing pilot, Ive got to get into flyin like that
2) you would need an additional GPS unit to get that to work and program it in Betaflight.
@Janosch Brand thanks for the reply. I see others commenting that these would need to be programmed etc. Where is a good video source that discusses that. I’ve tried searching and apparently I dont know the correct terminology.
2 questions:
(repost)
1) will one of these units hover? If not what is needed to make it hover.
2) will they return if you fly it out of range? If not what is needed to do that?
Cheers
Please don’t
As long you install it correctly, then yes
Sir your amazing, builder and pilot… I had given up on drone after losing a few up trees and flew away… you made this super fun.
Ha!… I learned something!… And my brain didn’t explode ! I’m not ready for the racing/building world, but when I do build , THIS will be the video I watch to do it ! I never lost track with this guy , not once ! I’d already decided on the eachine ev100 goggles …(the little thin ones)….which makes it the absolute BEST build for $200 so far !!!
Generic battery ie a 4S 1300mah w <90C (told ya'll I learned something !) and that El Cheapo China, "Sky-Fly" transmitter (60-80 bucks).... I know I know that makes it a $300 drone but still... It's affordable. (eventually)
So how does coding work drone wise, there’s no way this just works, this was a great place for me, an absolute beginner, to start but can someone point me towards some videos references that go more in detail about the other aspects that the comments are saying he missed
Tell me pls where is the main battery …
Is this a drone for 4s lipos?
This gonna help people get into FPV because its soooo cheap, some drones are mad expensive even base models. plus building with electronics makes some people wanna turn it down because it can be complicated
I’m learning and this video helped to know what I should look for …it’s just hard cause I don’t want to buy something I’m gonna regret
What about the battery?
give me the drone
is there something like this but RTF???
No, this is manually operated FPV racing/freestyle drone, what you are asking for is a very different type of drone. You COULD do it using GPS module and setting it up in Betaflight but you don’t really want to do that. Besides, you won’t be able to see anything but the skies when hovering because camera is tilted ~45 degrees…
@IDVert3X Thank you kindly for that informative response.
@Cheekykillers You’re welcome, glad it helped you.
I’m building the pro version currently. My question is do you have a video showing how to set it up in betaflight ?
Can you add an action cam to this?
Link to the Pro props is not working anymore 🙂
I never enjoyed cheap supermarket drones. I’m definitely getting a UAV kit.
yes, eachine wizard for example
i would recommend a 1500mah 4s lipo
yes
what are your questions?
check wiring diagram for your fc.
the pro vtx has 500mw and the base 200mw. the more mw the better video quality you get.
around 3-5mins. but its depending on how you fly
do it. but dont fly a 5inch without acro experience pls. get a whoop or a simulator first. it will save you time and money
Whats the weight of the drone ?
Which battery should I take for the « Pro version » ?
Which battery should I take for the « Pro version » ?
around 500g with battery
Mr Garkeiner Does my drone can be fonctional with only : The ECS/FC combo, 4 motors of course, propellers as well ? I mean, I want to put my own camera on (Independently of the Flight controller). Si I don’t require VTX or some other stuffs to be able to fly my drone. Am I right ?

@Serilum Le Blanc do you mean you want to fly it line of sight, not with a live video?
@† Serilum † do you mean you want to fly it line of sight, not with a live video?
In a first time I don’t want the FPV goggles cause they are pretty expensive, so I was wondering if I really need to buy a VTX to make my drone working.

Serilum Le Blanc If you don’t want a fpv System on the quad you dont need the Camera, vtx and antenna.
Great! thanks for the informations
Great! thanks for the informations
Great video
Such a good build vid. As a total noob having the top down build video and the talk through makes building my own quad a lot more approachable. Starting the buy bits for the base build. Love ya work, mate
Can you make a 2019 version please and add a battery, receiver, controller, goggles, etc?
Hey Iam trying to build a new Drone – Should i go for AIO – EMAX Mini Magnum 2 F4 35A Flytower or MAMBA F405 MK2 + Eachine TX5258 5.8G 72CH 25/200/500/800mW ?
@Mr Garkeiner haha sorry, what I mean is do we need to code anything, and if we do how would we do it (can you point me towards a resource)
ShaZam no u dont need to code anything. You will install a Software on your Computer which communicates with the quad.
Of course
What is the smallest fpv you can recommend that can hold a go pro 7 ?
This was a very good video step by step process. I would love to have one of my own. I will assist my friend on soldering all parts so we can let the children assemble the remaining products.
5 inches is the best choice that can hold a gopro in my opinion
@Mr Garkeiner but where you put it in the drone
Rainaire Hanford you have to buy battery straps and strap the battery under the drone
Should I purchase all this, would I need to program any type of firmware, or do any coding? Cause I dont want to do any other those things. Am I to expect this to simply pair up and work ?
oh okay I’m guess the battery is hooked up to pdb by a xt60 ports? I didn’t see you attach the battery idk if I missed it
Yes, needs programming. Need Google’s, a reciever… everything needs firmware updates
@SQuiD-PiddleZz Thanks m8!
I’ve just received all this today.. I can help you through it.. I’ve watched a million others.
Rainaire Hanford yes you plug the battery into the xt60
Get The mamba f405 stack,it’s cheap,a lot of people have it. Like me.but I’d get an akk ultimate vtx.
And don’t get Samguk motors theyre unrealiable. Get the xing e, emax eco or 3b hobby training motors.
Get some gemfan hurricane 46.6 props. And replace the fc and esc stack with the mamba stack. And get the emax eco instead of Samguk motors, they’re unreliable
can u make a best drone for bucks. to get it work with the new DJI gogle ? would be nice combination
@SQuiD-PiddleZz appreciate it! Was looking to buy an RTF as a gift for someone, thanks though thats a kind offer.
Hi there I found your video and I thought it was great. I have wanted to build my own quad for a awhile and with your parts list you made it easy to take the plunge. The only thing missing on your list is batteries do you recommend any? Thanks again!
I LOVE ???? HOW YOUR MY BOY IS SOO DAM INFORMATIVE!
.
.
I LITERALLY AM GETTING INTO THIS SPORT! BECAUSE OF YOUR EXCITEMENT! DEAD ASS THAT’S BAD ASS! ?
89mph ???
what battery would you recommend for this bild
good video however you forgot a battery, a transmitter, a receiver and a headset. also, can you do a 2019 version
do you need to buy 4 motors, or do they just come with four? Same thing with the escs?
I really like how u flip it and that u built it yourself and it goes super fast it’s super cool
Do you have to register this drone?
hi ineed drone please
I gotta remember your soldering technique. What temp do you typically use? I either seam to get to hot or to cold.
great if you know how to build them
I’m finally able to fly fpv but I bought a RTF and have damaged it and idk how to put it back together 🙁 I’m in need of help to find out where my parts solder back in and I’m dying to fly. I started with a 3 s king kong and I cant find the info I need . If I could have a drone like that ,I could die a happy camper !!! Please consider me please !!!! I have 4 kids and so all my funds go to them. I had to sell my life size replica of spider man for cheap just so I could get my first set up. I’m out of things to sell;( maybe my first born??? Anyway, I love the channel and have learned a ton . Thx again. Mike…
Was gonna order parts and build one but still don’t know what to look for with batteries or receivers or transmitters. Or how to set up the software.
Would have been cool to give a basic crash lesson on setup so absolute beginners like me have something to start with. Hopefully in the future
Transmeter cost
I love drones
Good vedio
My name is julian I’ve been a paraplegic for ten years now I’m thirty years once I saw this video doing a build drone for 100 dollars my heart set on needing one of my own so I can get into racing drones it would be a dream to be able to own one please may I be a winner on a build dr
Looking to get started in FPV and fixed wing RC this lets me know what to look for to start up. I have bought a couple of cheep box drones and not impressed so far looking for more this looks like the place to start. thx
This drone continues to be a good option?
recommend a battery Please
24:13 someones hungry
Are you gonna make another this year?
You dont solder a joint by heating the solder directly, unless you want a cold solder, that it. Heat the connector itself or the solder indirectly if possible.
I’m kinda wondering why everyone seems to pre-tin the holes on the PCB instead of sticking the wire through. Is there a reason for that?
My son is trying to build a racing drone. We need help PLEASE!! We cannot figure out how to program the drone. We are thinking maybe the receiver is bad. How do we get a replacement? PLEASE! We need help!
Watch he will show you how too…
Watch he will show you how too…
Anyone building and selling them?
Can I get one fpv from you I am from India
Everyone is complaining about how he forgot a bunch of stuff like goggles and batteries. This is a drone build not an entire kit build. Your radio/goggles/batteries all should be what works for you, Or your budget. Start with a cheap pair of box goggles. A flysky I6 and a sbus receiver and best 4s battery you can afford.
Is the code on the flight controller already written??
is there anyone here willing to help me build a drone? I have nevever did anything like building a drone. I just need someone to talk to directly about this and just the little things about chosing parts. I wanted a slightly better drone than this so if someone is willing to help a comeplete noob pick parts that would be awesome!
would this drone be able to hold up a gopro hero 7?
Pre-tinning makes for a better solder-joint. You don’t have to do that, but if you want a more reliable connection you want to.
@Eino Torkkel Pre-tinning in general makes a better connection, I agree. But soldering the wire onto the hole gets a better connection than sticking the wire through the hole? That doesn’t sound right.
What reciever should i get?
Don’t these need any software installment?
please can I get help for how to connect ia6b recover to the flight controler in pro build please I bought all the stuff
Love the work you got me wanting to jump the fence from rc cars
@Sharky mate not everyone has the tools to soldier or the knowledge and a kit put together is what makes it an awesome give away i need me a racer
Can a pair of fat sharks work with this
Can you put a go pro on these?
what receiver is should I use?
What type of battery do we use for them? 3 or 4s
So I did the calculations and turns out to be 170$ American dollars ? just to let you guys know. For the pro version. That’s without tax but still a great quad for beginners! And intermediates
Do you have to speak so fast very irritating
Okay I know this is late but I’m really happy that someone like you made this video. My brother and I are starting to get into drones but we don’t have a lot of money and this video is perfect. Thank you so much:)
You should definitely make it clear that this is literally only for a drone. Not including the battery, charger, Remote controller, controller receiver or goggles. $99 is very misleading since you’ll probably spend another $130ish for the other components alone not even counting the goggles. Which after watching the total on my shopping cart well exceed the $200 range is kinda disheartening… just saying the video is pretty misleading in this regard.
I love the quality and the work that was put into it
How do you bind the pro version?
Never had a drone before. Getting a pre-built to learn on and watching this for the learning of parts
the link for pro props dont work anymore
is battery 1s
It’s the $99 dollar build version of Mando. ?
what flight modes does this drone have?
can you mount a go pro on it
?
Built it in Dec 2019
I used the Racerstar AIO FC and Samguk Wu motors and the drone flies like a charm straight with default settings. It needs a little bit of tweaking to get rid of the drift that I am having but the PIDs seem pretty nicely tuned beforehand.
What battery is the best for this drone?
Very good video I learnt a lot out of this video
Look for a 4s 1500mah battery, I use Infinity 4s 1500mah.
Sangita Sanjeev Yes with a mount
Acro, which is fully manual and angle mode, which is similar to how a camera drone flies.
No 1s is wayy to underpowered. It’s built for 4s batterys
Depends on what receiver and transmitter you have. Normally you go in binding mode on your transmitter and press the bind button on the receiver while plugging in the battery.
Don’t forget that this price is for the drone only! You will still have to buy goggles, transmitter, receiver, charger for battery’s, soldering equipment if you don’t have it already and more…
Depends on what Transmitter you have.
Yes with a mount
@Mr Garkeiner so I assume 99 price doesnt include battery
Berk Can no, it doesn’t
Brian rapley I built it with zero soldering knowlegde, I never soldered before.
It wasn’t easy but if you have patience everyone can do it.
@Mr Garkeiner that is a lot of damage..I feel sorry for you man.. I have damaged so many stuff on my 450 quad, I know how that feels..
And I saw a tuning video of RotorRiot and they were saying that BetaFlight 4.1 onwards all drones should fly almost perfect right away with no need of PID tuning because of the backend development.. Guess BF is working hard to make our lives easier
Do u have a spare drone if it is ok to u that im begging a drone to u because I dreamed to have a drone and goggle sorry my english is not good because im from Philippines if it is ok to u to
@Mr Garkeiner ok thanks
Man, once you add everything up, the basic drone costs around 125€, that being without a battery (add 20€), it’s velcro (2€), the remote (40€) and the FPV goggles (cheapest, 50€).
I get it, it’s for folks begginning with FPV racing. But precisely, people begginning won’t have access to FPV goggles or a remote! Adding everything up, it amounts to almost 300€. Maybe try a smaller, cheaper drone and explain in the video what is the best *CHEAP* FPV goggles and rc controller with a price tag of around 150-200€ in total(?)… be realistic xD
Mr Garkeiner hi which build did u do the pro or base
Massive Raging Boi I went for the pro parts, and after burning my FC I bought the Mamba Stack instead of the Racerstar, because it’s better
@Mr Garkeiner yeah, stacks are pretty good. They might cost a bit more but those are pretty reliable.
Sudhansu Barik The mamba stack is actually a lot cheaper than the racerstar, I would never go for that thing again because of bad experience xD
Aweesomee broooo, I”m new to this so i think it was soooo useful thanksss……..
what controller do we use for this drone could anyone help me plz
What is the approx weight of the “pro” version?
@Mr GarkeinerThat’s ok thank you very much for your help.
Jeremiah Arjune np, and don’t forget to buy a receiver for the transmitter.
@Mr Garkeiner Can any receiver work.
Jeremiah Arjune this Transmitter works with frsky receivers. I would recommend to buy the XM+ receiver. It’s good an reliable and it’s cheap.
@Mr Garkeiner Once again thank you.
Looks like 1/1/2020 price for the base is $139
what battery do i use
Great video bro, my wife got me a drone for Christmas and I’m hooked. Awesome hobby, I love it ! In the future I would like to build my own . I will be using this video as a guide . Thanks for the time you put in to making this video .
If your building this drone, a tip is that the VTX in the pro version requires a 7-24V input and when built in the video, stew only uses a 5V. When I built the drone, I found that the 5V input was not enough to supply the VTX so instead attached it to one of the esc power supplies. This worked for me as now the VTX gets around 15V.
and Trump wants to bring FPV drone manufacturing back home. $1000 drones, Made in USA.
Any 4s 1500mah
there are a lot of transmitters you could buy. Depends on your budget and what functions you want.
I have no idea about drone building but, doesn’t it need a battery?
yeah you’re right, of course it needs one. He is only talking about the drone and not about additional stuff.
@DroneMatesFPV I want a full one, how much does it cost with overseas shipping
Please reply to the message
@DroneMatesFPV I want a full one, how much does it cost with overseas shipping
Please reply to the message
I really want to get in this hobby
But i cant
Can’t buy this stuff in my country
If i order this out of country it gets very expensive
I like how cheap it is
Like banana Joe said make a 2019 Version
Nice job Sir, very technical, maybe when i improve my drone flying i can try racing ones
Pls do 2020 version!
Fpv drones are not expensive in them selves it’s the equipment and batteries that really make it cost
Love this build thanks!
how do you connect this to a controller without goggles I’m a beginner
To get the drone to fly you need a transmitter (controller is the same meaning) and a receiver.
The receiver receives the information from the controller and basically gives it to the drone so it knows where to fly.
I love you
OMG!!! I’ve been draggin my tale to do something like this. I have a decent RC base knowledge to go from. I did car/trucks nitro and elec. and some chinese knock-off drones. got a Phantome 3 Std from ny brother and let down big time. Flacky connectivity and scared to fly it because of it. I need to find time to do this and buy 2 of evewrything so my 14 Y/O son can build w/me togoether adding 2 new excited UAV flyers. Can’t wait and THANK YOU for doing this vid. So Pumped!!!
please do a 2020 version
2020 new year new drone? Also what does one of these weigh?
Please, please make a v3 version for 2020 or comment on which motors/cam you’d choose, thanks!
You need to make an updated video…I’d love to build something like this that could cast to my cellphone
What battery do you recommend?
please do 2020 version
The vtx on the pro version drone he says it a 7-24 v I think but then he solders it to the 5v pad how does that work?
@Mr Garkeiner thanks dude
Idk why he did that. That’s wrong in my opinion.
Any 4s 1500mah should be good
We. need. 2020. build. Thank. you.
Hi there!
This video really inspired me to start making drones. I went and bought all the parts i need but have run into a problem. I find it really hard to solder the esc’s to the motors and all the other wires together. They just don’t seem to stick and I’m worried I’m going to damage the drone while making it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips of what I could do? Thanks
Was very helpful this is the first time I ever I am doing this project never owned a drone now I could make my own .
Thank you ?
What remote do I use for any of your drones?
You got yourself a new subscriber !! Love you videos mate
Hey I would like to know what goggles and remote u use bc I don’t know of any good one’s
Do v3 2020 edition
Dude use it
you just made this 51 young man i llove it thank you soo much for now i can show grandkids be the futer too live this world we live in . soon i done yet u young will need what u tell us thank you sooo much
how do make own frame at home can i do it so i can let young people know if u can please ,thank you young man
Is this build still good in early 2020? Or it’s too old?
ANYONE PLEASE HELP, I DONT KNOW HOW TO CONNECT TO THE DRONE…. IVE BUILT IT AND HAVE THE TARANIS QX7 BUT I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO CONNECT…. send me a message if u can help. if you have discord my discord is Thingymuhbob_Jr. #8873
so its 2020, I saw this video at least 5 other times before, I decided I was going to go ahead and start, but I must be clinking the links to the items. parts are not coming under 100 for what’s being mentioned. were you getting these parts when they were like on a holiday sale (black friday, fathers day…etc)
I’m a new double amputee it is found when I was 19 years old I had a rare blood clotting disorder that they still have no name for they don’t know how to treat it I’ve been in the hospital countless times had six or seven bypass surgeries to save both my legs haven’t had a major heart attack at the age of 23 I’m 25 now and I’ve been finding Javis get into NRC how he has my interest the most I have cars and some drones and I’ve always been on the look for an fpv racing drone in that price range that comes ready to fly and is durable and fast if anybody knows where to get one already built or one that I can build myself that is not too complicated like an Ikea furniture dresser
I know I’m a bit late to this party. I started putting the parts into the cart, some things are no longer available so I added alternatives. I only got as far as adding the frame, motors, VTX, the 4in1 ESC /FC and some cyclone props and I was already well over $200. ? I still haven’t even selected a camera, the CCD isn’t in stock at this time. Still need to buy goggles and a transmitter too. This happened to me when I looked into the first $99 build as well. I really want to get into FPV but I just can’t afford it, even with your advice Stu. I like building, so I’d prefer to do that than just buy something like an RTF X220/S which I feel has too many issues out of the box.
awesome, going to try it soon
I really need this a have been flying a emax very fun and I am ready for a update i am only 12 and I do not have the money
i want to make this but for 6s what different parts would i need
2020 version 😀 ?
It’s $99 just for the speedy!!! Wtf??? Bullshit!
I’ve checked out a couple of diy fpv drones and they’re very helpful. You think you can do a nice camera drone with gps, maybe anti collision sensors. Would be a great project. Yes I actually have 3 x MP1 but I like tinkering and building things so would love doing this kind of project.
Plis jeg har aldri vonet plis
OoommmmGGGG I WANT THIS
Thanks for informing me about the drone hobby! I’m gonna try to build one now.
Thanks for the great video, I’m now hooked on racing drones.
if i build the pro kit can i get it air born with only Flysky i6S FS-i6S 2.4G 10CH AFHDS 2A Transmitter With FS-iA10B Receiver for FPV RC Drone? Or do i need any thing else
really enjoyed your build video! That’s amazing that this can all be built for around $100. I’m just getting into FPV I have been flying helicopters for years.
2020 version PLEASEEEEEE
Hello, I wanna make the same drone also, but with something like follow me option or gps tracking. Is possible? Would be nice when I go to vacation with family at beach and can make nice videos while my drone follow me…
Im into rc drag racing but this looks fun was thinking of expanding my ventures
If you want to fly line of sight only, thats enough. But if you also want FPV, you need FPV goggles, VTX (videotransmitter) and FPV camera.
yeah, fpv isn’t a cheap hobby.
But instead of the Racerstar 4in1 ESC/FC get the mamba stack: it’s cheaper and more reliable.
youre not gonna get under $100. You also have to keep in mind that you also need equipment like: LiPo batteries, FPV goggles, transmitter, receiver, charger, ….
Whats your budget?
There are a lot of from which you can choose from. Depends on your budget.
When I soldered my first time I had these problems too. Often its just practice, for that Id recommend you to buy the “mamba soldering practice board”, it’s cheap and you can practice while not damaging expensive boards.
There could be problems with your soldering iron too:
– On what heat are you soldering? Maybe its too low.
– Do you have a clean and shiny iron tip? Always clean it!
– Do you tin the wires and put a bit of solder on the pads before connecting them? You should do that because it makes it a lot easier and you also get a stronger connection.
I hope I could help you 🙂
@Mr Garkeiner i was planning on installing the vtx and a fpv camera but was wondering about this remote or similar and have way to transfer video feed through android phone or
something in that nature? Just to get video without goggles?
@Mr Garkeiner i still cant get the items in your list @$99 or under for just the drone.
Then y is it a 99 dollar build???
Why do freestyle and other good drones not use a propeller guard, does that mean i should remove my guards?
I want one so bad. Why are they so expensive?
@Mr Garkeiner umm it will probably be £300-£500
Connor Trinder only for goggles and remote? Or for everything?
@Mr Garkeiner only for the goggles and remote
Rick Britton
Your channel is amazing, thank you for helping me understand how to start a new hobby, Thank you and God bless you
I really love to start with the racing. What Stearing and where to get the things i need.
Hey, I want to start this as a new hobby. But which FPV Antenna I need? I can pick “RP-SMA male” or “SMA male” an below “LHCP” or “RHCP” Which I need? Thanks.
Is the signal wire pulse width modulated ?
what battery should i use with this? either the pro or the base version. thanks! love the vids!
Which vtx do u have?
Mr Garkeiner ok thank you!
@Mr Garkeiner Matek 5.8G 40CH 25/200/500mW switchable Video Transmitter VTX-HV with 5V/1A BEC Output for RC FPV Racing Drone
How much total for the pro version?
2020 update of this video please ?✔️
Are those emax 5065-3 props gonna pull more then 30 amps? (More expensive build)
Haggebuddi You will need SMA Male.
For the next time, you can go to the product information of your VTX or any other product and look up the connector.
I looked it up and it has an IPEX connector, that wouldn’t work with the antenna.
But there’s also an adapter included which has an SMA female connector, which is compatible with SMA male.
I’m new to racing drones, but I’ve built and bought some camera drones. Why is the camera angled up so far? Wouldn’t you be looking in the sky? Is it to account for the angle the drone takes when moving?
@Mr Garkeiner Okay, thanks.
Yes, fpv drones can fly very fast. That’s why the camera is mounted at a high angle, otherwise you would only be able to see the ground.
But you can adjust the camera angle to how fast you want to fly, there’s no right or wrong.
Matthew w You could do that, there are video receivers out there which can connect to an android phone.
But I would highly recommend you investing in goggles because you will have a much better flight experience.
James James It’s around $99, the prices are also changing constantly.
You have to decide if you really want to get into the hobby: if you really want to get into it, do it! It’s definitely worth the money.
But if you’re already upset about 99$, then this isn’t the right hobby for you.
@Mr Garkeiner I’m wanting to have the goggles but can’t afford them but I can start with this setup and then buy goggles later when I can afford it! Also I’m buying the blade 230srx heli this month then planned on starting this project piece at a time, I’m really getting into this stuff, I bought a cheaper drone and really liked it better than I thought I would, but helicopters are much more fun and more of a challenge imo! But thanks you have helped me out!
Is this down at Fyansford??
could I make the frame from arylic as the alternative, bro??
How do I bind it to a fs-i6
For the pro motors how do you know which wires are positive and negative.
2 0 2 0 Version pleaseeee
hey it’s 2020 and I am going to use this video .I hope it is not outdated
this is awesome … how can i get your contact , i am in nigeria
What kind of batteries do you use for these
don’t you need a receiver? How do you connect a radio
Where does the receiver go
What kind of info does those OSDs display?
so adding the receiver isn’t a part of the build ? can it fly without one? is not a full build if not.
What transmitter/receiver/ battery and how to bind ? Incomplete video for first timers!
When did he put in the battery?
How do you connect the remote and goggles?
*Фэньк ю мэн*
Hello sir want buy
Reply me
Can you please make a 2020 version at some point. I am a kid and can’t really afford an expensive drone. This video was really informative. I just don’t want this setup to become outdated if I bought it. I would need to be able to buy parts for 2-3 years from now. That is why I want a 2020 version. Also, you should have like a $200 price point but include everything.
2020 version pleas
are these motors shipped as cw or ccw
thank you for showing me a drone that I can buy
I lernt somthing
So um, what reciever are we using here?
This vid is awesome!!
As someone that only has drone flying experience with a DJI spark. Would anyone recommend this build as a starter for getting into fpv drones?
can i connect my base model drone to the fs16 remote controller
Hello , thanks …There is not important to configur setup and radio Controller ?
and if i want see camera view in phone what shall i do ?
Im sorry but what type of batteries are you running?
I am trying to get a idea to build one using a Raspberry pi from what heard that it can be done so I hope I learn something
Did anyone notice in the upgraded version he used a 7v to 24v vtx and then he uses a 5v port on the fc/esc and somehow it worked?
I also wanna fly this drone soo bad
Let’s get a 2020 version that would be great
Please do a 2020 version PLEASE!!!
Bro my college is conducting a tech fest i would like to build i like yourvideos its awesome its killing ?
Can u give me one of your drone ?
I am passionate to drones
99? The ESC is 92$
Wat would the drones average flite time be
What is the average flite time for the drone
Awesome video! Helped me get my head around building my first drone. ??
FPV drone for $100…… guess I know what I’ll be building next week!! Or atleast trying to without catching something on fire haha
It really pisses me off how he goes 3 2 1 BOOOP

I apologize in advance for the question, but do you still need a battery or is it already there somewhere?
We need a updated version of this video
We need a updated version of this video
Hi
I’ve build the pro version buy i have a bada signal in my goggles

Vtx: eachine tx5258
Camera: foxeer falkor
Vtx antenna: lumenier axi2 (long version)rhcp
Goggles antennas: lumenier axi2 (long version)rhcp, lumenier flat 5.8ghz antenna.
Goggles: skyzone sky02c
I don’t have a fpv drone I’m just trying to save up
I’ve been wanting to get into this so bad !!! I had 3D heli’s but I’m so intrigued in these !!!
Stu, had the parts sitting in a box since last year, and I finally finished it today. We will see whether I can manage to NOT destroy it.
He says hes going to add a receiver like its no big deal. you cannot fly the drone without one. so what is the point of not including one on the build.
2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2020?
I’m assuming you’re not counting 4x escs and 4x motors, the FC, ESCs and the motors come out to $95. Come on man. Where are you buying the RX, Frame, VTX, and camera for $4 total?
pretty cool. I’m totally gonna build one of these. never have before, dont even own a drone but always been interested. what’s the range and battery charge length?
Pls update
Not sure if anyone’s going to see this, but is this better than the eachine tyro99? Cuz supposedly they’re both 99 dollars, but the eachine got cheaper than this.
My esc of the racestar starf4s 30 burned right away, does someone maybe knows how this happened?
I like the drone to, it is amazing❤️.
is aussie but uses usd and inches wtf
is aussie but uses usd and inches wtf
Really Stu?? Go through all of that and then rush through the last of the build and don’t even show us how to install a receiver??? Crikey Moses!!!!
I’m not complaining about that. ;^)
What about ESC configuration/callibration? I built a DIY drone a few years ago and hardest part was ESC callibration. Every single DIY drone video I am watching these days says nothing about ESC callibration. Is it no longer needed?
I’m so late for the giveaway ?
2020!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go on then Stu, give us a 2020 version ?
What battery for the pro version?
4s 1500mah
you need a battery
4s 1500 mah
I like how you put links to everything
Actually most useful video…. Thanks
Can you give me one….
PLEEEAAAASE do a new one of these for 2020 Stew. Thanks a mil
@Mr Garkeiner thank you
can you build one of these and send it to me 😀
THIS IS MY SECOND ATTEMPT PLEASE CONSIDER ME FOR THE GIVEAWAY AS YOUR CHANNEL HAS MADE ME LOVE DRONE RACING, ONLY I HAVE NO DRONE. NOT A RACING ONE AND I LOVE ALL THE BUILDING DRONE VIDEOS YOU DO THEYVE GAVE ME KNOWLEDGE. KEEP FLYING!! I WANT A RACING DRONE!!!!!
@Mr Garkeiner Thanks ?
are these radio based or wifi based?
Why kind of fly sky reciecer would work with this
It’s sooo informative really helpful and love this channel
What does it run on? Magic?
Am frome morocco Can you give on am a pouvre man i dont have eny drone plz bro can you send me 1 plz plz plz brother help me
How long from the remote can you drive?
What batterys do you use
Need $99 build 2020
Black magic
The giveaway is already over…
My Racerstar burned too. It was a mistake to use that board. Better go for the mamba stack, it’s cheaper and better.
It’s always better to build your own drone. Because if you crash and you’re going to crash a lot, then sooner or later something will break. And if you built it yourself you know how everything works and it’s much easier to repair it.
I was actually going to build this because I don’t have a drone and would like to build one but then I found out that he didn’t mention a battery its like buying a car that cant use gas
i did it for cheaper im sand that u lie to poeple
Do i yust need to plug an baatery and im ready to go or i need to do some programing if so can you make an video about it
what type of battery would you recommend .
Would this support a go pro?
wow, prices have skyrocketed. covid, maybe? with the base model parts, with red brick escs because the other ones were out of stock and it was the cheapest one, it was 165. i also added a cooltech fasst compatible reciever for 24 bucks. my dad only has fm radios or the 600 dollar futaba one so
could somebody tell me about a good battery for the pro build? Thx guys (;
do you have a video on how to bind this to the controller?
steven paquin what Receiver do you have?
You have to buy/build a GoPro mount. But the drone itself should be powerful enough
Unfortunately it’s more expensive than you maybe thought:
You have to buy (of course) drone parts, receiver, transmitter, FPV goggles, LiPo batteries for the drone, soldering iron, and a lot of other stuff and tools like small screwdrivers.
1. a drone doesn’t drive lol
2. it completely depends on what receiver + transmitter and FPV goggle + VTX you use. Furthermore it depends on what antennas you use and if you installed them correctly.
Mr Garkeiner thank you for the answer
Taranis qx7
I’ve never really touched a drone in my life so how would I turn on and pair the pro build to the controller and headset. Thanks!!!!
It doesn’t matter whether it’s the pro or base build.
These drones have two transmission systems.
1. Transmitter (controller) and the receiver which is mounted on the drone. With that you’re able to control the drone with your transmitter. You have to bind the transmitter with the receiver only one time, after that they will bind automatically.
How binding works depends on what transmitter/receiver you have, be careful with compatibility.
2. The FPV system is a lot easier. The videotransmitter (VTX) which is mounted on the drone transmits the videosignal to the FPV goggles (you called them Headset). There is no binding needed.
I hope I could help you out. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
That’s the transmitter. My question was what receiver you have.
I want a video on fpv range and drone range
I would like to win it becuase I’ve always wanted for so long
How do you connect the receiver to the 4 in one esc?
I only have drone with camera at home, a visuo xs812, can i use that controller using this racing drone? And is it possible to connect te camera to my phone? (Ik totally new to this so, yeah)
2020 version
whats the difference between the pro and basic drone. Also is it worth the extra money to get the pro
“Gromit this! Gromit that! The Fahck Does Gromit mean!”
-Jon “Echh-man”Jafari
Well changed the frame camera VTX motors props esc just to make it under 250 grams and because I didn’t had enough money
How do you record the image of the drone ?
Yeah I’m just going to get a wizard x220s
Wich remote control for the base build? It should be as cheap as possible.
Is there a 2019 version of a 99 dollar build
how many mah batary
Can I use the FlySky FS-i6 for the base build?
hey, would like to know what is your betaflight configurations on the cheap bulid
This help a lot thx x
These are really fast . I love the way you fly these. Need to get me one to put together. Has anyone done this one yet.
Is there a bind button on this build. Im asking because I already own a fly sky remote which should be compatible with fpv builds?
What Power does it need? What means virtual audio?
2020 version?
Dude I really love to have you help me build this thing but mine broke but it is hilariously fast
I never win things but that’s not going to stop me from commenting I found your channel last night on my other YouTube on my laptop now I’m subscribed on both my accounts my laptop and phone I have been binge watching your videos all night keep it up there’s little to no people like u on YouTube these days u got a new fan lol
The drone needs a LiPo batterie (4s 1500mah).
I think with virtual Audio you mean smart audio? If so, with smart audio you can change the VTX settings directly from the FPV goggles.
You also need a FlySky receiver which you put on the drone. You bind the receiver with the FlySky remote.
I’ve done it last year. It was my first drone. It wasn’t easy, but I did it.
I recommend you buying a transmitter ( remote control) and a simulator first, so you can learn flying.
If you have any question you can ask me 🙂
yes, but you also need a FlySky receiver.
unfortunately no
FlySky FS i6. Don’t forget to buy a FlySky receiver!
Usually with an action cam (GoPro, …)
Some parts are higher quality and reliable.
For example better camera = better image…
For the ESC+FC buy the mamba stack! Don’t buy the racerstar, it’s unreliable!
Depends on what receiver you have
@Mr Garkeiner thank you
2020 edition
WOW man you are genius!!!
WOW man you are genius!!!
i mean thanks alot
i mean thanks alot
Please make one of these for 2020 cause there seems to be more improved parts online ?
do you have any video of how to connect the FrSky Transmitter to the flight control?
could i use a mamba f405 stack instead of the esc and the controller?
Im super confused on the whole receiver situation as im new to the hobby. What do I need that isnt here? and can someone suggest some parts that would work with this build
yes i would highly suggest you to do that. The mamba stack is good and reliable!
There are many tutorials on YouTube. Just search for binding.
So, what he showed in the video is only how to build the drone.
What he didn’t show is that you also need a receiver on the drone.
To start flying you also need a transmitter/remote control and fpv goggles to receive the video.
There’s also a long process of binding and setting the drone up (with a software called betaflight).
There are many tutorials on YouTube on how to do everything but at first you should choose the parts and build your drone.
I could recommend you some parts but I‘d rather do that with a messenger (eg discord) because it’s a long process. Depends on your budget/or what you want your drone to be capable of.
And if you have any questions feel free to ask me. I’ll try to help you where I can 🙂
When you said “dont power it off the 5v, or use a 5v vtx.” in the description, are you saying don’t do what you did in the video?
GME GME GME
does it support 6s ?
Please do a 2020 version!
Please do a 2020 version!
Hello !
Why is there no receiver like ( R-XSR ultra Sbus ) in this quad ?
How can it bind with our radio and fly without a receiver ?
Thank’s ?
This drone won’t fly without a receiver. You always need a receiver.
That’s the main problem of this video: he isn’t explaining everything, which in my opinion he should. Because most of the people who watch this video have no or only a little knowlegde about this hobby.
Better fly with 4s with this build
So I’m thinking couldn’t you get some sort of receiver that connects to your smartphone and use some game console controller all through an app to control this thing?
thank you for this build video, but what battery and charger are u using? do u have a link?
Thank you ?
I thought i was crazy ?
You can buy a video receiver for android smartphones/tablets to be able to receive the video on the screen.
I wouldn’t recommend that. Better buy a transmitter and FPV goggles.
Put the dji mavic mini in those frames. ?
bro these are insane i think i am going to get one and great instructions!!!!!!
where’s the program for the spin of the motors
Awesome
Can i use this drone with the Fatshark Attitude V5 goggle?
How would you program this drone I am trying it’s my first time and I’m lost
“Bobs my uncle” @ 24:52??? That was weird…..and how do you know bob?
What battery do you recommend?
What battery do I use??
What battery do I use??
What battery do I use??
whats the run time on those things? most drones ive looked at in stores is like 15-30 minutes which i find terrible. wouldnt a gas power helicopter or plane with a attached camera work better?
2020 version please?
need to know the radio recommended that will work with the fpv racing drone.
What’s your budget?
3-10min flight time, depending on how fast and aggressive you fly.
And I think you don’t know how it feels to fly a drone, especially flying these FPV drones is nerf-wracking. A few minutes feel like more for me.
You don’t have to program it, there’s software you have to use and set it up. Did you already built it?
I could help you
Sure
It’s called BLHELI
Well this is deceiving, hundred bucks my ass….. And you talk to much
Please make an updated 2019 build or even 2020
Is that fpv camera footage or GoPro footage?
I like it.. L.L.I. girls?
I’m liking it ..? and stuff. From YouTube channel DJ Nefi ????
can you put a gopro hero 6 on this one?
Hi
This is the first video I watch and I love it I subbed with bell notification
Where should i conect my radio transmiter on this flight controler?
Could you pls do a new 99$ build vid ??
Please do a 2020 version
@Mr Garkeiner thank you so much
You need a receiver, which you will connect to your flight controller and then bind to your transmitter.
What Transmitter do you have?
Yes. But you need a GoPro mount.
It’s action cam footage, not sure if it’s a GoPro. But it definitely isn’t DVR from the FPV camera.
@Mr Garkeiner I have bought: FlySky FS-i6 2.4G 6CH AFHDS RC Radion Transmitter With FS-iA6B Receiver for RC FPV Drone – Mode 2 (Left Hand Throttle)
great job, I love the detailed instructions and links to purchases
to be fair he only said building the drone
This is all well and good but in total, including the price for FPV goggles, a radio etc comes up to about £236 ($292)
Are they good for freestyle?
In the pro version the VTX is working 5-24v . Dont wire als in the video at 5v on esc otherwise you gonna have problem with video signal or quality. Connect directly to battery and use the filtered 5v out on the VTX for the camera .
Do you think I could run these setups on a 3s 2200mah 20-30c battery?
WHERE IS THE BATTERY THO?
I love the comens
2020 version?
Hi
Can you make an new 99$ build
Didn’t mention what batteries these would be running on, looking at the tech I’d say 3s 4s max
can i still win a drone x
Is that a store ?
I would recommend 4s 1500mah
It should work. But better go for a 4s
For freestyle I’d rather choose a different frame. I would recommend the martian anniversary frame or TBS source one.
Also buy the mamba stack, it’s cheap and reliable.
Din Sadović the receiver you have is a huge one. I don’t think it will fit in your drone. Better buy a new receiver, for example: FlySky FS-A8S or better go for the FlySky X6B
@Mr Garkeiner Ok thank you is there somewhere you would recommend buying from?
@Mr Garkeiner Tnx on that, but how to a conect reciver on fc,do i need wires for all 6 chanels or just +,- and i dont know what is trird wire and how that all works
You can give me drone
Wow nice build! Is FPV hard to fly? According to my research it is. Only flown a DJI Mavic before, Is this a lot harder to fly in comparison?
Bro you are doing the best drone videos.?
I think my parents r letting me build this. I can’t wait, I’m wondering if I could build the same thing but maybe a better camera and better motors – is that possible?! Please tell me 🙂
This price without radio controller
Um… this isn’t 99 lol
Please do a 2020 version
If you make a drone do you use any control for these drone cause I am making one my self
why some motors needs ESC and others not, before conecting to power,?
Can you fly it on level mode
Yes, you have to set that up in betaflight
Because some boards are flight controllers and ESC‘s at the same time.
And some are only flight controllers where you have to use ESC‘s.
The advantage of these 4in1 boards is that they are cheaper and it’s easier for beginners because you don’t have to solder that much.
The disadvantage is that if one ESC pin breaks you have to replace the whole board.
Normal ESC‘s are more expensive, a bit harder to install but easier and cheaper to replace.
Yes, you also need a Transmitter and FPV goggles.
If you want to do freestyle I would recommend you choosing other parts. Some of these parts he’s recommending are kind of outdated and there are better parts out there that are even cheaper.
If you want I can send you a list of parts that I’d recommend.
It can be a frustrating hobby because it’s very complex, but if you have motivation and get trough it you will be amazed. Flying these drones is a blast!
Yes, it is. A Mavic levels itself and it holds the altitude.
Flying FPV is completely manual, it’s a lot harder. But it’s also more fun because you are faster and more agile.
I would HIGHLY recommend you to practice flying on a simulator (liftoff, velocidrone) first.
@Mr Garkeiner Wow, Cool, appreciate the help!
Voltage Guy2000 no problem, if you have any questions feel free to ask 🙂
@Mr Garkeiner Thank you for risponding! i want to build one ,all says that if you dont conect camera, reciever and the rest before you connect battery you could burn your flight control or entire drone ,but i want without without those gogles,at least at the beginig ,does exists with wifi controls ? thanks
You can fly the drone without the FPV system. If so, you don’t have to buy the videotransmitter (VTX), the FPV camera, and FPV goggles.
Mr Garkeiner I was looking at a newer video it’s the 120 fob drone build the picture of it is like a yellow prop, I picked the parts from that one. I think they r new but I don’t know
@Mr Garkeiner Thanks a lot!!!
Pontus Ågren yes with a GoPro mount
Please do a 2020 version!
are you gonna do a 2020?
Hey, I had to come back to this video. This was the first quad build I ever done. One Year later i earn more money with flying drones then I pay for them. So I just want to say thank you for this great guide. PS: My wiring still looks shitty but it works. PPS: Greetings from Germany. 🙂
Did anyone notice the riot shield at 41:05 right before he lands the drone?
Hab auch letztes Jahr dank diesem Video angefangen 😀
Wie verdienst du Geld mit dem fliegen? 😀
Like the speed of the drone
how do you find the samguk motors in counterclockwise
You can change the spinning direction with the program BLheli. Just download it on your computer and connect your drone. There are also tutorials on YouTube that explain you how to do it.
does the mamba stack thats linked in description include the ESC?
also whats better about it compared to the Racerstar StarF4S 30A Blheli_S Flight controller? not sure what to get, am a total beginner here! cheers
@Mr Garkeiner Yeah I’ve also been looking into this, if you’re sending out part recommendations I would gladly like some too.
Bruv the flight controller is over $100
Oh man I wish I had money
Definitely go for the mamba stack. It has ESCs. One board are the ESCs and one is the flight controller.
I had bad experiences with the Racerstar, it’s just one huge board and if something breaks you have to replace the whole thing. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
What speed is this ?
$99 but not including battory remote ext so more like $99 +$99
I bought everything from the pro build, but is it ready to fly with only that 7 items??
What kind of battery do I need???
What is the range???
Where can I see the camera image??
Any 4s 1500mah LiPo
Range depends on your transmitter and receiver, your vtx and FPV goggles, and antenna alignment
You can see the camera image with the FPV goggles.
No, not at all.
You still need a transmitter and receiver,
FPV goggles,
Spare parts and accessories,
Soldering iron,
LiPo batteries, charger, (parallel charger)…
@Mr Garkeiner thanks for the reply
Where is the receiver? A drone can’t be controlled without a receiver
What kind of radio station works? Does any radio station work? And i feel like i need another component to add for the drone that connects to the remote
Which reciever is compatible to this
how..
How to enter this give away beacuse I wanted a ravong dronr since I was a little boy..
not going far without a battory or remote
I like the part that the solding part I love it I learned more info about that .
Hey can i use the racestar rs20a 4in1 ecs with the motors of the pro version
Hi how are you listen I have a question I’m so interested in buying a complete set can you help me I went on your link and I picked out several items I want to know if they all work together they are from different vendors. Please help , my name is Joel
They should work, you can send my a list of you want and I’ll check.
You need a transmitter ( the radio controller) and a receiver ( the component you were talking about)
Yeah, he didn’t even talk about it…
@Mr Garkeiner hi and thank you for answering me back , so i got a emax tinyhawk freestyle 115mm, eachine ev800dm hsadset and flysky i6s fs-flysky 10ch afhds 2a transmitter. I hope it work together. Please let me know .
As i am brand new thanks for this video i was loosing hope as i really want to build it myself thanks so much
Joel Velez Okay, the drone and FPV goggles are ok.
But the drone has a FrSky receiver which isn’t compatible with your FlySky i6 transmitter. ( These are different brands)
So you have to buy a FrSky transmitter and I would recommend you getting the FrSky QX7.
Yes, it’s more expensive but it’s an awesome radio. It has many features and also a module bay, which allows you to install modules to get better range for example.
I have a DJI Magic Pro, I want to know which flight computer would give me the features of a racing drone and the features of my Magic Pro? I want it to auto hover & collision avoidance. What specific pice do I need to use Fat Shark giggles if I do the pro build?
There are some things you didn’t understand correctly, no problem.
Your mavic pro is a camera drone, it’s completely different to a racing drone.
Either you go for a camera drone to be able to do Areal photography and have easy control, collision avoidance, and self leveling…
or you go for a racing drone to just fly around and be a lot more agile and fast. (and Controlling the drone is a lot harder!).
I don’t think there is something in between and it wouldn’t make sense in my opinion anyway.
And now to your second question:
Usually, every videotransmitter (VTX) is compatible with all FPV goggles. So there’s no difference in either going for an expensive fatshark goggle or a cheap one, the EV800D for example.
This also applies to transmitters ( or remote control, however you wanna call it). Doesn’t matter if you have a cheap or an expensive one.
But there’s one thing: Your Transmitter has to be compatible with the receiver, otherwise the drone won’t be able to fly. Usually you just go for the same brands, FlySky transmitters are compatible with FlySky receivers, and FrSky is compatible with FrSky… there are exceptions, but that would go into too much detail 😉
I hope I could help you out, sorry for the huge comment. If you have any other questions feel free to ask 🙂
You don’t have to lose hope 🙂 if you have any questions feel free to ask!
It’s really an amazing hobby, even though it’s not the easiest, but once you’re able to start flying you will never regret that you got into it!!
This is the perfect video for exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks!!
Hi it’s my birthday in may 5 I am buying that drone but if you can give it me that wold be nice
next time could you please link the controller you use in the description
Battery,receiver
@Mr Garkeiner i just saw that receiver is added with the radio controller. Thanks
What type of battery is best? For this drone
Yea i am having trouble trying to figure that out
Hello everyone please help me i need some information i can’t find. What F.C can i use for my spektrum radio. And how can i tell when looking at F.C
Get a 4s 1500mah.
Let’s get the 2020 version would like to get into looks like so much fun
So crazy question. Could I build this without the camera and just have a line of sight drone. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am brand new to this and looking for a project. Thanks
That question isn’t stupid at all! 😉
Of course you can build and fly a drone without the FPV system.
You wouldn’t need the FPV camera, videotransmitter (VTX), and FPV goggles.
@Mr Garkeiner so the vtx is for video transmission only. Do I need a radio transmitter or is that part of the flight control board? And thanks for the answer too! 🙂
is there any place that I can find a written guide for parts and stuff for this so i know that Im ordering the right things? or is there a 2020 version of this? as well and need pointed in the right direction for a Radio batterys goggles etc on a budget as im new to FVP
Chris Inman all the parts are still mostly up today I just got all my parts in the mail today and started the build
Sam Jarrell your FC can hook up to any receiver. I fly spektrum and use the Spektrum SRXL2 DSMX Serial Micro Receiver, SPM4650
@Dino Time thank you very much!
Hi Dino, what receiver will you use for this build ?
Tryoc it depends on what kind of radio u have I fly spektrum so I use SRXL2 DSMX micro receiver.
Dino Time thanks that is awesome to know
U you wanna do a giveaway where I win
I think you guys are very interesting like
Like banana joe
2020 version?
Do you have discord or smth like that? I could help you out and guide you.
Paul Flood yes, the vtx is for video transmission only.
You need a transmitter to control the drone and also a receiver, which has to be compatible to the transmitter.
If you would tell me your budget I could recommend you one.
Also if you have for example discord it would be easier to chat there, if you have more questions.
@Mr Garkeiner this is a first project, so I am trying to go cheap just to see if I can do it successfully. So instead of the video transmitter I just need a receiver, that wires into the flight controller? Don’t have discord, but I could get it!
Paul Flood Okay, would be great if you would get discord and send me a friend request: MrGarkeiner#1543.
i will help you out.
I fly with the Taranis XQ7 so I may use the R9mm receiver with the R9 module. But I checked the Drone Mesh channel and he also has solid build !
2020 Version please! I love this series.
@Mr Garkeiner yup Dreifub(Kvasir)#0635
How do I connect my FPV goggles and remote to the drone once it is built?
Also what battery did Stew use?
@Mr Garkeiner Hey can you help me as well?
@Mr Garkeiner My discord is ‘destroyer of omelettes#6189
Do a 2020 version!
And do we not need a receiver?
I like dis video
I like dis video
You need a receiver!
i love drones! i want to get into fpv thank you!
Does anyone know if this has everything in it to connect it to a remote and how to connect it to a remote?
You need a receiver which is soldered to the drone. Then you can bind the remote/transmitter with the receiver. The binding process is really straight forward and easy. Once the drone and transmitter are bound they will automatically reconnect to eachother everytime they are turned on.
i like your style in presenting things. fast and not boring. wow those drones are fast. will build one. Thumbs Up.
can you make one more viedeo with one drone FULLY GUIDE everythings included for ready to FPV race, please _/|_
So I was able to squeeze a DJI air unit in this thing with the mamba stack.
What about a 2020 version
Im about 2 years too late but wow this is amazing, i didnt even know about drone racing until now.
You’re never too late to start with this hobby!
What voltage battery would I need for this build? Is 75c good?
Get a 4s 1500mah battery. 75c is ok
< NOOB Question--------------------What 6s battery goes with this?
???
Don’t buy a 6s battery for this, go for 4s
pleas make a video of conecting controler and goggles
What is it’s dimension
Do they make those propellers completely transparent? I saw transparent white, but looking for clear so you can’t see them hardly
Dang that’s sweet
30:42 do we need to remove the spare ground and the spare 5 volt wire
15 mins u talk too much wasted my time
Hi guys .. I’m kind of new in this case, and trying to make the pro version drone, but I’m a little confused about the receiver.. Can I buy any receiver or do I have to buy a specific one? And another question is can I buy any remote and goggle or is there any specifications too? *please help me guys*
to any one looking at this the Base build is 121.83 dollars not including taxes
v3 please
Suman Debnath what kind of tax do you have
Suman Debnath what kind of controller do you have
This was a great and informative video for someone who wants to build their own FPV drone, however as of today (28042020) the build list adds up to almost AUD300. The build list was taking the pro version motors (Samguk Wei 2207 2600KV), 4 individual escs(RS30A Lite), pro VTX, base cam, base props, base flight controller and frame (obvs). The sellers must have realised that these items are popular and hiked the prices (or the exchange rate is killing us).
Thus, I do believe in 2020 it is no longer possible to do a $99 build. I guess this would explain the lack of recent videos regarding this topic. This is not UAVFutures’ fault, it’ just the way business works, unfortunately.
Great informative content though. Just sad that this will be out of reach of many peoples’ budgets.
@Moneypenny TX im using Diatone MAMBA F405 MK2 Flight Controller & F40 40A 3-6S DSHOT600 Brushless ESC with RUSH TANK PLUS VTX 5.8GHz 48CH 2-8s 800mW Video Transmitter Smart Audio AGC MIC
Hi. What was the flight controller again that you used in the standard one?
Suman Debnath Whats your budget for transmitter and goggles? First choose the transmitter and after that the receiver.
@Mr Garkeiner can you suggest me some good one at low price??
I never built a drone before,I’m gonna build this one,I’m writing the parts list down now. Thanks guys
2020 version when ?
Are all the parts compatible for the base and pro builds?
Suman Debnath Okay, so the lowest gear that’s still worth getting is:
Goggles: EV800D
Transmitter: FlySky FS i6X and choose the X6B receiver.
You won’t get any cheaper. If you have the money, I would highly recommend you getting the FrSky QX7. Yes, it’s double the price and theres no receiver included. But this radio is so much better. (For receiver get the XM+)
Pls do a 2020 Version 😀
I wish you would extend this video and tell us how to set it up with the software
I ordered my parts today,I have never built one before, what batteries do I use, this is my parts list.
Frame–HRSC TWE210
ESC–HAKRC BL HELI 32bit

can you give me a drone
What if I had everything on the basic drone but just with the pro motors… will that work make me a speedy boi?
Those motor wires should be soldered to the board like a through hole component. That is why there are holes in the PCB. Strip more wire off each one so you can poke it through the holes and out the other side of the board. Then fill the entire barrel with solder. Much stronger and more reliable connection. Far less chance of shorts as well. Good practice to clean all your solder joints with a little brush and some isopropyl alcohol after each one is soldered to remove the flux. Blow the broken up flux and iso off with some air
(IPC CIT working in Class 3)
Hi whats up , I have a few question. So I saw your video and I fell in love ,so I bought a tinyhawk and a fs-i6s radio and ev800 dm the problem is I have no clue how to bind and set up the radio please I need help .

You should do a 2020 version.
hello, i’m thinking of buying a drone for entertainment use, i’m passionate about fpv although i never tried it … does it make sense? I always had the dream of being able to have the feeling of flying …! I would like to have a cheap drone, because money is not much. which suggests that I buy up to 100 €, with remote and goggles. I wanted a mix of drone for fun and for fpv and with good video. thank you … what’s the next giveaway, you may be lucky. thank you

I’m doing the basic build with the omnibus F4,I upgraded to the Eachine TX 5258 VTX,this is my first build, will the Eachine work on my FC,I see the VTX has a 7.2V,I use the 5 V on the VTX right?I can remove the 7.2,.have I got this right?
Do you need tin to solder or can you do it with out and where do you get a soldering iron
Lmaooo…”you soldier it up and the Bob’s your uncle”
Will the electronics pair with my spectrum transmitter? If not then which parts do I need to switch out so I can use my spectrum transmitter?
I wish you could just buy race drones. It would be so much easier!
wow!
How do you put the receiver in
What about the battery? Any suggestions?
Shit man how come I could never win anything on YouTube? Money is a little tight right now but I’ve seen three of your videos just now I already subscribed and liked but I’m a year late LOL. I don’t know shit about FPV I only have a regular drone ??

I just looked up all the base parts and threw in a battery and goggle and remote. The total before tax is gonna run around 250$ just the drone base build parts are around $140. Just fyi in case you are new and think you can get flying with only a hundred dollar bill

What thicc the wires need to be? (for the battery part)
Is it still working ?
Sad I wish I saw this a year earlier is so cool but can’t get it from my country
the cheapest stuff worth getting is: goggles – ev800d, transmitter – flysky fs-i6x OR if you have the money go for the frsky qx7, its a great radio. Theres already a receiver included with the flysky transmitter, for the frsky one get the xm+. if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
you can, but you need a mount for it
4s 1500mah infinity
go for the mamba stack, its better
you need a receiver
internet or a local store
better antennas, transmitter, receiver, goggles. There are a lot of factors
thx
I literally need a fpv drone

Someone needs to debunk the “expensive gear” and “affordable gear” myth.
Hi Guys, Is this still lastest Quad for the money or is there a newer one.

36:18, esier than Lego!? Lmao
Thanks you for the video, extrealy comriencive but I have 2 questions regarding the Motor wiring that is not marked and mentioned I understand that there must be a clockwise and anticlock rotation! The 2nd question is for a 65 year old man is this type of racing quadcopter suitable for piloting and used for recording Video?
What remote should I use
Where he has a white wire and black wire on esc i have 3 wires. Black red and white. And the other 2 have black red yellow/orange

I’m researching drones to build to help out here on the property and for fun. I have controller questions.
How much range does it travel ?
You posted this on my birthday
Where do u buy the spares on which online web?
I don’t think you included the receivers. For a beginner I’d like to know how to put in the receiver and possibly bind to controller
In this version if i have regular motors do i have to switch the wiring?
do not get something over 2s. Emax tinyhawk 2 is a wayyyyy better beginning drone. Frsky taranis qx7 transmitter. Get the 2000 mah battery for it. Get a pair of ev100 by eachine goggles or fat shark attitude v5. I recommend the attitude goggles but they are $300.
There is no PDB needed anymore?
They are making these mini police drones, for enter homes safely. You should show how to make a mini sneak around drone.
i think thats a good idea
Anyone calculate it ,, total more than 99$
Almost 500 $

Would any 4s battery work with the pro build? Also all of the cameras are sold out would any one of those work as well
What are the props
Bro you are a PRO at this. Soldering might be the scary part about this…
I have built this drone and the flight controller was faulty so please plug your flight controller into the computer first to see if it is working or not. Now I have spent another $250 trying to fix it.
Hi I want to build this drone but I’m more in freestyle is this still a good drone for freestyle??

Hey! I used this guide to build my first drone! thanks for that! But im wondering how you mount a gopro mount to this? Can y pick another camera on this frame ?
I have a question..has anybody experimented with two different kv motors on a frame.. ie, 2205 x2 up front 1800kv x2 rear or visa versa..and mixing smaller props with bigger props..? just asking?
im thinking of building a mixture of the base model and the pro one, getting a turnigy i6s, some cheap fpv goggles from gearbest and a 1500mah 4s lipo from amazon. will everything work together?
Can this carry a GoPro Hero 5? I’m new to drones and I’m curious if this is a good one for me to start with.
Can you make me one and i just buy it from you? Pleaaasseee
Can someone point me to a good video about batteries
I was under the impression that you need a power distribution board. Is that built in to the flight controller?
Where do you put the reciver?
Can i connect with my phone or I need to buy googgles?
Whats the flight time on it
Does this still hold up in 2020 or can I get better parts for the money? Cheers
Hi I am new in fpv drones. Do I need to attach a receiver on the vtx receiver module? And also, how do I attach a transmitter?
How much does it weight?

Can someone please tell me how you connect the solder to the drone? I bought the fs-I6S radio and the receiver and is weird. It don’t have wires, like I’m confused.
Hi.I am looking at building a drone myself and I’m watching this video in 2020 so I know that there are for options of Internal parts so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of building as cheap and as good quality parts as I can get so if I could get some help that would be great.
God I really want to get a racing quad but I have bought the Bugs 4w 4k. But I still want a racer that’s quick you know. Can you not make me 1 and pair it your way with just the Transmitter, not goggles, and I will gladly pay you for it. Thanks. Ps Excellent Job at making these quad videos. I would mess it.
Hey I have a qeustion how heavy is the drone

I’m looking to build a drone for the summer.
now make a video on how to make a cheap DIY beginners drone for under $50 bucks. Edit: nvm, flight controllers alone are 30-50 bucks.
lol. so I am actually planning on making a drone… not a lil racing ron elike this, but I want to build a light (cuz I don’t wanna register with FAA) drone, that has a basic 2 axis gimbal camera, and not much else. screw follow me or GPS stabilization. I’m making a BUDGET drone. Lmao.
(first time building adrone, and I am aware that it is very ambitious for my skill leve, but your video has really helped me figure out on how a simple drone actually works.)
This is my 1st time thinking about getting a drone is that on the lumen I’m frame
Does the antenna connector have a dual Antenna connector
need a soudering iron lol

I don’t know what to do I built the drone properly and now it’s not booting up it does the first 3 beeps then it doesn’t do the last two. I soldered everything together perfectly correct. I don’t know what to do as I just spent a lot of money on this project. Please help
Better late than never. Thanks for your your guide. I finally stepped into FPV after too many years of hesitation. Great guide to get started, great bill of material. Just a quick one, maybe a chapter on radios would be a plus as frsky/flysky and so many subtleties are hard to get as a beginner (+telemetry). Anyway, thanks again a lot for this video. I’m still sticking to this build as it flies really well with some additions to it (gps+beeper)! I also went for a tiny whoop (mobula6) for indoor and no wind outdoor fun to fly in more restricted areas 🙂
And where is a battery and where i buy it? Sorry i’m dont understand english
Wait, I’m confused. Is this a drone channel?
Will this cameras give good image quality or I need to install GoPro?
23:22 pro time
hi, what battery should we get?
Why are you lying? Not 100dollar!!!!!
What is the controller

Ive just discovered these type of drones. How long do batteries usually last for these guys, are they like regular drones in regards to battery life?
If you do a nother build please show us how you configure it in betaflight

maybe is not a good question but do we need a sort of code do we need to write a code to make the drone work ? or it’s already on uController ?
Did you just solider a 7to24v vtx to a 5 volts out on the board?
That guys is why it is not working at more than10 meters
You can just plug it to your computer w betaflight installed and do everything you need you can search some tutorials they are all pretty good
If you are a beginner you should try w 3s
If you have experience and want to try to get a little bit more thrust to the motors you can go w the 4s
Nope the boards and the esc are 3-4s
Depends on what battery you use
I found out that with a 4s 1300 mah it last for 25 minutes
God dam i want a drone i finna buy one for my little brother but it’s gonna be for me
Today the other €100 build is a 73,19 dollar build right now

I bought the dys samguk wu and the props from the base build but the nut doesn’t go far enough to lock the prop on the shaft. Anyone has a suggestion to make it work?
Can u use the 4 in 1 esc from pro build on the base build??? The base build esc are now out of stock.
Awesome – thanks! Saved me a solid 100 bucks
Well I probably want a racy drink like this is so I could just have fun and I’ve been meaning to get in a hobby but I didn’t know which one to get in
What cheap controller should i use for this drone??

Hey, I’m building the Pro version with the Mamba stack and I’m having trouble connecting my fsrx2a receiver to my radio(fs-i6s). Could someone help me out?
I know this is old video but still a great build! For anyone interested I looked up ALL current prices.
$141.00 for the base model and A little over $200.00 for the pro, including shipping. with the exception of the pro camera
and Base mod. ESC, ALL products listed were still in stock As Of 08/02/2020. Great parts listings! so, NO Probs here
your welcome
Darn, I missed this Giveaway. I’m just getting into drone flyind. Just purchased a Mavic mini. These Racing Drones look like fun.
99$ dOlLAr dRoNe LIES!!!! the drone is useless without the googles 135$ the controller 75$ doesn’t even tell us about the battery
What do you say in the very beginning of EVERY video you make? I can’t make it out,it sounds like you are saying “goodayshdude.”
I wish that one place you always link too wouldn’t sell out for every build you put up,though I understand why,I would think that company would restock more often than they do which seems like NEVER. They have a lot of cool stuff but it’s like they don’t restock.
I’d like to see you make a cheap, multi-purpose drone, a bit bigger than these. One that can do fpv (but doesn’t have to win any races), that has a decent lift capability, so I can drag small thermal gliders up high to be released (then press ‘return to home’ on the drone, while I fly the glider), or carry fun stuff like bombs and missiles, or just carry a decent camera. I think being able to lift 250g would be more than enough. Great vid, I’ll defo be trying out this stuff soon.
I’m looking to make my own drone in some time. As noticed by a lot of people a lot of information is missing.
What is a good beginner controller/pov glasses, etc?
What I’m also wondering is, is it possible to put a racing drone like this in Hover or Follow Me mode?
If it’s not possible as is, what would it need to be able to do this?
wow you have a lot of drones sanaol
wow you have a lot of drones sanaol
Can you make a 2020 version pls
encourages people to comment and reply but then fails to comment or reply to the many legitimate questions about batteries, googles, radios etc. Awesome video but I’ve a basket full or parts and zero info on what battery to buy, total newbie and I will continue to research to find the answers 🙂
I’m new to the drone scene and am very interested in these $99 builds, is there a kit I can buy and build? Or just buy from list
I can help you out. What are your questions?
About controller and goggles, depends how much money you want to spend. The cheapest I’d recommend is flysky fs-i6x and EV800D. but if you have more money to spend I would highly advise you to go for FrSky QX7.
If you don’t want a boxed goggle, fat-shark-style ones start at around 200€.
And if you want your drone to be able to hover I‘d say just buy a camera drone. Mavic Mini is a good and cheap one for example
Flysky FS-i6X is a good one
Better buy the mamba stack
Try to screw it in with a lot of power. It’s a special nut which locks really tight
@UAVfutures How do you get this drone?
@UAVfutures How do you get this drone?
I made this and flew this and it’s just 80kmh on 4S (50mph)
I wanna know that did you use a 6S battery to get this fast ?
(pro build)
Hey I built the pro version with a fs-i6 radio soldered all of the wires for the reciever in and I get a reading for the voltage and stuff on the radio but on betaflight it doesnt get a signal from the radio on the radio tab if anyone can help be great
Great vids btw

Hi are you selling it??
I built the pro version and can’t get a reading of the movements on the receiver tab, I’m using a fs-ia6 receiver and a flyskyi6 radio if anyone can help.
Hi from Philippines when I was child I really like to have one like that and to fill my dream I make paper plane to play and fly.even I’m adult I love to have that but unfortunately I don’t have enough money to buy one.i wish u seen my comments
This is a great video! I followed your list and received my parts. I’m looking forward to my future build. When choosing props how does one figure out which size to buy? Is this based on frame size, will it make the drone slower/faster? Thank you for putting these videos together! ?
LMAO anyone notice the base version with the cheap motors and his links is 125$
And no battery/ goggles/ transmitter/ reciever
How do you add the fpv goggles
How do you connect the vtxes to a goggle
can i pls have a drone
i really luv ure vids
I’m definitely new to the whole FPV scene. I built a few drones years ago with just a bunch of random parts from Hobby King and spectacularly crashed them all. I had been toying around with the idea of buying a DJI product that was ready to fly but with my past track record I thought no way am i going to wreck that and my bank account at the same time. So I bought a Holy Stone HS110D and it’s definitely helped me hone my flying. Yes its cheap but it’s helped me master the basics and now finally I feel ready for some FPV. I like the frame in this build for sure but I think my question is the camera and the view angle. Can you change your viewing angle in flight? most quads I see are basically forward looking on a plane that’s parallel to flight path and for a new person just getting into FPV I’m wondering if that would be problematic? Any thoughts?
My aunt and grandpa had covid19 but there good now im not kidding
Usually the FPV camera is locked in an angle.
i going to build the base
What battery should I use for this
Whats your soldering iron?
What is the battery??
Buy 1. I’m from Cambodia.?
can you just build it and sell it to me ? also how long does the battery last of fly time?
Hey, really loved the video and am planning to build this drone but I cannot find the components anywhere! Does anyone know where I can get these parts?
should i use soldering flux when connecting the joints? Everytime i try to connect i just make a solder mess and burn everything ?
what is the difference between one of the flight controllers featured in this video (MAMBA F405 MK2, Omnibus F4, StarF4S) and the PIXHAWK? does the pixhawk 4 do everything those other products do?
i am a drone lover , so can you donate me a drone.
i love your vedio
