Did you set Power Limit to OFF? If you didn’t, then regardless of what power you have selected in the settings, it remains at a very low power (less than 25mW) until it gets the ARM command from the flight controller. I am presuming you have not connected the wires to the FC UART pair for MSP comms. And… Welcome to the world of HD flying. I haven’t flown analog since I got this in several aircraft and drones.
I’m hoping somebody will come up with a cheaper version of digital. DJI cost so much.
Awesome video, thank you for sharing!
The only big bad thing is…
no Audio….
and no video live output
I don’t feel they’re terribly expensive. You mentioned the cost several times. I got the same package as you. A nice set of fatshark goggles, two cameras, two VTX, and antennae would be very comparable to the $850 CAD I paid for the DJI package . I was planning to upgrade my analogue goggles but when I did the math, going DJI digital seemed like a better decision. For sure the single largest RC purchase I’ve made but when I compare it to what I have into my draks and rangers, it’s not that much. Won’t work for the longer range stuff I enjoy sometimes but WOW! So cool to cruise around and check out the scenery. I can recognize people walking or driving down the road. Saw a herd of elk last week. A few bears. The detail is just amazing. Looking forward to your videos on other cameras and antennae. So far I’ve run stock gear on mine.
I run at 200 mw and I get reception for miles. A lot better than your video? 200 mw seems like a good balance between reception and keeping the unit cool in summer. Have you done the naco.txt region setting?
Thanks for the video Andrew, I know how you feel. These goggles are a game changer.
Hi Andrew your link shows a transmitter as well is that needed
Thanks for sharing, yet another great post Andrew. Making me wanna get one now. Would love to see what mods would apply for these or how to setup an OSD on it (especially if there is something out there that resembles a glass cockpit or a HUD).
Just beautiful im hoping to have a set under my Christmas tree this year.
Look forward to watching your in-depth reviews and content based on this system.
I‘m flying the System on my Phoenix 2400 and it‘s soooo cool ??? – Next projects will be the Binary and my Mini Talon.
Analog, never again
Very ?
Looks like where u fly, no maintain at all, have u try longest distance the systrm can do ? Knew someone did 8 miles already.
Andrew, what are you using for OSD?
There’s a DJI goggle hack that kicks it up to 1200mW.
Got my goggles and 2 au during the Father’s Day sale and it was about the the same price as top notch analog gear. I’m still still shocked when I pull down the goggles.
Thanks for the demo. Interesting to see how at a certain point the video gets blurry on the sides but not in the middle . Almost as if it’s reducing bandwidth by reducing screen size in favor to keep the center image clear for as long (or far) as possible. That’s smart!
Andrew you use glasses how did you go with the goggles ?
OK But you HAD to do it with The RANGER 1600 eh!!
AND if That is your ACTUAL In Flight View,,,, Then I am in..
Amazing!!!
So so tempted to buy!
Awesome system, so clear! 🙂
Ur out in the meadow by yourself why the mask?
dont forget to switch to 50 mb. it will help with grass detail a lot
