Hey DRONRS!
New news inspired me to look at old news. This was an interesting one that I think leaves a lot up to debate. How safe are manned aircraft from drones? How to do we stop drone users from breaking the law?

Here in the UK, the events that happened at Heathrow and Gatwick have made our laws significantly more strict. As an indirect result of this, UK drone pilots like myself have had to register to fly a UAV over a specific weight limit. Still won’t deter criminals who won’t register as there is no technology yet in force to stop unregistered unmanned aircraft in the UK.
Too late: Remote ID is already coming. 60 day comment period is open.
There is a syndrome that infects all new drone users (can’t yet call them pilots). “How fast, how far, how high” Syndrome. I know first hand this is a thing. But eventually I went from, “Awesome drone that, by the way, has a camera.” To, “Amazing camera that, by the way, flies.” I don’t have the answer to this condition.
New users need a buddy. Pilots have no excuse for this behaviour.
I’m about to publish a series of videos offering “Don’s Drone Rules”…sensible rules with balance. I’d love to hear your perspective! First one will be out tomorrow.
The TFRs at baseball games have been around for a very long time. They were originally for manned aviation as a result of 9/11 and have continued today. They weren’t put in place for drones specifically, we are just lumped in.
Really good recap. You should do this periodically and mix it up with Aeronautical Decision Making. Some flyers think these things never happen. Good work!
Great video bro i just subs to your channel ?? Have you ever worked with Team BlackSheep ? their videos are really good.
So one of the problems I see here is that you just called these “verified” drone collisions. But they don’t know what kind or have any evidence of a drone hitting the craft…. just damage that isn’t consistent with bird impacts… seems pretty far fetched to to use these cases as justification for overreaching laws.
