I literally face palmed several times at some of the idiocy spouted by these guys. Bruce is the only one who’s got a clue. No wonder we’re screwed. You want regulation because it will be “profitable” to you, that’s all.
Bruce, that’s for being the lone voice of common sense for those of us who are quickly being excluded from this conversation
Gary I see you were referencing Wales and Sheep in the broadcast,,,I’ll have you know we are at the forefront of innovation when it comes to drone usage, as proven by this BBC news item tonight, such cutting edge modifications too 😉
personally I would have got matey boy to stand to one side put a 4 oz weight on and just cast it 😉
I fly at an ex military airfield but my phone cannot receive a signal whilst there. What use would an app be in that scenario ?
as Bruce has said in the past. what is a drone? Is it any RC model aircraft? Is it multirotors that are basically just an RC helicopter.
I agree with Bruce’s pov that the difference is in regards to autonomous. GPS makes it possible, without that it requires the pilot to be an actual pilot rather than pushing a clever piece of electronics around the sky.
From what I have seen RC models are already in decline if they get this wrong it will destroy an entire sport.
Car drivers have been trying to get cyclists to register for years, its simply not manageable or actually have any out come
sorry, tapping out at 50mins this is ludicrous. registration is a completly over the top and pointless thing that will cost the government and users money with no benefits. All we need to do is clarify the cap 658 set actual distances from airports.
For commercial use that in certain circumstances would have to contravene cap658 to do the job they have to do then in that situation sure, licensed pilots with high level insurance and redundancy etc.
is the problem the user or the model?
maybe we should identify the type of user that is causing the problem and regulate the technology that the problematic users are going to use.
