DYS X160 Micro FPV Race Drone Review – Part 1 [UnBox, Inspection, Setup]
Here’s part one of my full review of the DYS X160 Micro Race Drone http://bit.ly/1X48GAd
Here I go through what you get in the box, inspection and setup. This one seems like a good choice for someone who has a transmitter setup they want to use. Just add your TX/RX combo and batteries.
Lip Battery I’ve shown in this video:

Another great review, Dustin. I have a suggestion though. Instead of
mounting the PCB Antenna under the arm, you could use a mount like this
. With that mount
you can still mount it on top of the FPV camera away from the VTx. This way
any crashes will cost you only the arm and the motor + esc. Last thing you
want is your receiver getting ripped apart during the crash. Generally it’s
a better idea mount them 90 degrees away from each other to achieve maximum
polarization. Also, for these kind of PCB antenna, Frsky suggest having the
flat-side facing the opposite the other corresponding antenna. (shown in
the links above)
fingernail clippers will cut zip ties flush, nice vid
Excellent Dustin … since I have an unused FrSky X8R RX sitting in my
Taranis box, it makes me want to go out and get this little cute racer.
There’s a lot of tweaking you can do in Baseflight/Cleanflight but I
wouldn’t go too crazy. I’m wondering what you put on the 5th & 6th channel?
Wish it had some kind of landing posts to hold it level for calibrating the
gyros prior to takeoff, but that’s something which could easily be added.
Will be interested to see the follow-ups on this when you post them. Thanks
for the review! Mahalo!
