It’s been compared to pod racing from Star Wars. And there’s millions of dollars being spent turning drone racing into a mainstream sport.

Primeira vez que estou vendo algo assim! Parece muito promissora a ideia.
You have to get the crowd involved. one way or another. Close flybyes
generate energy and adrenaline. FPV option is another way. put them in the
passenger seat of the birds.
FINALLY COMING TO REALITY! :)
i dont know why but this guys looking like fools
Drones are taking over the world!
They gotta get away from physical spectator venues… limits the courses,
costs too much and no one cares to see it in person. Online spectating is
going to be the breakthrough for the sport. People can select back and
forth between racer FPV views and see an overlay of the course with real
time positions of the racers on the course. At the moment they are trying
to fit a square peg in a round hole. It’s a virtual sport and in the
digital world the sky’s the limit, unlike the real world. You’re welcome.
The fans should be given the same view as the pilots so they will
experience the same.
There’s no physical element… put a human on that drone and I’d watch
the problem with it is that its boring
I don’t think it will ever be anything of interest to anyone who doesn’t
fly fpv. I have no interest in robot wars (sorry fanboys) and so I don’t
watch it. Same reason nobody without an interest in Drones will watch this.
Friends of mine will watch me fly for five minutes with a few wow’s or
gasps, but interest is usually lost pretty quick. Maybe the problem with it
as a sport is the complete lack of peril to the pilot. I personally think
its cool. Everyone else with an fpv headset, thinks its cool,
unfortunately, the masses will take more convincing.
Naaa… these machines are meant to fight… lockon and destroy! not cross
a line first.. GLADIATORS! Extreme-nis-ness!!! That’s what the public
craves… this is just professional bullshit.
Create a headset for the crowd to watch live feed.
One day it will be like mario cart .
I love drones flying them for a year I started from a drone from a fun
drone a Costco to I’m doing more advanced drones
Sport is when you move! Not when you sit.
mundo?………………
Just my personal opinion so don’t get mad, but Maybe if each drone had its
own custom look. Something the audience could buy into other than the
pilots. I would love to have a figurine of a awesome looking racing drone
on my desk. Also maybe something that seems like they really worked hard on
making this drone fast as crap. Something bigger that seems more like a art
to build other than a toy. If a commercial came on in the future for drone
racing and I saw a little generic drone that looks just like my fpv racer
and their like “oh we built this bad boy with a top grade cc3d flight
controller for the best blah blah blah blah…” no just no, I want to see a
commercial come on with a fresh looking never seen before drone the size of
my large dog with a custom look and the owners telling me “yea we really
took our time tweaking our imperfections that cost us the race last time,
we are hoping this new aerodynamic shell really sets us different from the
other drones out there today.” Just my opinion sorry guys if I have it all
wrong. But the way it is now anyone can build a drone and feel like a fpv
racing pilot and maybe that’s enough to draw a audience. I love that!!!!
Link to the videos? Does the girl have a channel?
Soon people will watch on Twitch other people playing videogames about
drone-racing.
This is something that you should get into now so there will be less
competition
The problem is as allways the money. People want money from this thing
right now and you can’t create a well working lure for people and force
them to watch something they don’t understand. This isn’t for everybody and
shouldn’t be advertised as such.
There is already a big audience in the internet. Channels like FliteTest
with over 500k subscribers are doing great job. It will be a next big thing
but by trying to fake the excitement it can be ruined and become something
that “fat, geeky kids want to do”.

This is the type of sport that would be popular on VR rooms.
This is Fly 4 real….
can you send me the price of this drone ??
im going to be a pilot soon and i want to be like charpu
whats the drone at 6:28
I am a fan! I watched the chapionships last night! I have a drone, it looks
exacly like the millunion falcon from star wars!
As a fan I would like to be able to watch from the same perspective as the
pilot. THAT would be exciting.
I recently worked on the DRL championship in Detroit. I had never seen
drone racing before and it was cool learning about it. I can definitely see
this getting big.
A 15 year old winner!!!! Talent and young reflexes.
I hate to sound negative here, but this is nothing but a “video game
contest”. Not, and will never be a sport.
Do you guys (the channel) think you can link Charpu’s channel in the
description?
I mean.. the first ten seconds were from his videos. You could have at
least put it in the upper hand corner..
2:51 Mr Steele
This is the robot im looking for
*cough* watch dogs 2 *cough*
Bigger than football? That shouldn’t be hard. Football sucks ass.
0:43 try connecting an antenna.
The big sports are , after all, marketing for sporting goods that makes money for corporations. The drone sports are already making money on amazon.com and ebay.com outlets. The sporting events are not the goal. As long as you can achieve the goal, you achieve the goal. Remember, the goal is making money, by all means. And, besides the central goal, many real technical engineering projects are being developed, and who knows maybe drone is the next NASA, after NASA’s progress stagnated since the shuttle era. Project Star Shot is a drone project that aims to visit Alpha Centauri. Many things are drone.
Exciting to watch this sport grow & grow & grow …
Fuck mainsteam
Fuck mainsteam
This is very cool to watch but i would not call it a sport. Its a video game. Put a weapon on it and then you have something to have fun with
Why is it called “Sports”? Like E-Sports, it has nothing to do with Sports.
maybe stop maybe it illegal ? so we can fly easier? maybe sell us parts so we can buy them in stores, we still have to buy stuff from china and hide in the forests
it is the sport of the future and its for all ages literily i am 12 and i am already racing
Bigger than football? I don’t think so.
“From a visual point of view, it could be bigger than football.” I don’t like football…but yeah, I don’t think so.
How do be a master
I don’t see how this is would be a long lasting spectator sport, but it does look fun.
ESPN LIXO E ESSA HISTORIA DE DRONE KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
It is a sport for the participants, and the participants only. Even if you are at the field with your buddies, and your quad breaks or you run out of batteries, it doesn’t take long for your patience to wear thin. You can even relate to what your friends are doing, can talk about their quad and yours, etc. So if you, as a pilot, get bored semi-quickly if you aren’t able to fly something? How do you suppose you will capture the attention of non-pilots? You won’t. While drone racing is a highly skillful activity, their are enough variables that can cause even the best pilots to make mistakes or just flat out lose when they are otherwise proven masters.
A great example would be World Series of Poker. It made a run in the early 2000’s and went mainstream for maybe a year or two and then dropped out about as fast as it came in. Why? No namers come in and take victories while the “masters” or known players catch a bad streak, bad luck, or whatever and drop out. People still play poker, and they always will. It will just remain a game, for the players, and only the players as nobody gives a damn about watching it except for a small select few.
Drones 😛
If you are looking for an affordable and quality drone, Cyber Monday discount:
very inspiring ending 😀
Does not take a genius to work out to make this a spectator sport (live) they drones need to be bigger much bigger minimum 4ftx4ft which brings it’s own new challenges safety the fans (or drones) would have to be entirely enclosed one way or another Do that and it will absolutely explode as both a online and live sport
need an update video with truth about the sports new face. not rotorroit
Welcome to the headache of trying to make Esports a mainstream thing. Virtual sports are a thing and they aren’t going away.
OMG 666K VIEW!!!!!!
Wonder how fast these guys are going to get brain tumors with those VR goggles in their heads all day.. Nothing better than bombarding your head with radio signals all day ; )
All I can say is “HELL YES” !!!
Aerial dog fights
Why’ll doing the races they should do a tech fair. competition and give aways for new ideas and new inventions. do a build a work shop where everyone can join in and build drones with the best racers out there. bbq Bounce castles stalls where you can get advice and purchase drones that are within everyone’s budget and a small track for amateurs and beginners
haha 3:04 Tommy from Roto Riot, If you haven’t go check out the Youtube page
the women involved in this kinda sport are very different from other sports. in a bad way of course
3:58 got my attention
Yeah i’m a drone pilot!
so cool, you can also try our FPV cams from caddx.us if you want to have any idea about our cam don’t hesitate to contact me sales118@caddx.us or my fb sarah andrew
The technological issues have to be fixed, longer battery life, better video transfer. And then pair all that drone racing stuff with argumented reality. And Boom. A Multibillion dollar business is born
To make something profitable you either have to sexualize it, or weaponize it.
