Fly Faster: Design Considerations for an FPV Drone Racing HUD
I have been working on display software for my Parrot Bebop to help me fly better and fly faster. It is inspired by actual Jet and Helicopter head up and head wearable displays. This video presents the design considerations that factored into the interface of my FPV racing head wearble display.
*Forgive the out of focus bebop footage. The quads have become near sighted thanks to too much testing.

Where can i download your FPV app?
I’d like to use it with my Gear VR and my Bebop2
@Rogerpro Roger: I did not measure the delay that occurs on the video
channel. It often varied and could vary a lot based on environmental
changes. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a video on YT where someone
has. We did all testing on the 5Ghz spectrum to specifically minimize
delay. An interesting thing we found was that as long as the length of the
video delay was lower than the predefined prediction time in the flight
path vector algorithm, the pilot could remain in complete control of the
drone and could still perform higher speed maneuvers. The effect was the
pilot was flying the flight path vector, and the drone essentially was
performing a following task.
