bruce Im a investor in future technologies. a lot of the regulations thats being pushed is about monetization of future economy. with recent successes of spaceX a lot of companies now see the value of regulating private air space. here in California im working closely with Amazon, SpaceX, Blue origins, and facebook in ratifying these laws. the private air space has to be safe to operate in for companies so that insurance companies can cover area of operation for any drone delivery system. this also touches self driving vehicles. i hope ive given you insight. all of this safety bs talk they are feeding us is part of what the companies are asking for to get insured to operate. the liability cost becomes exponential for any new company seeking to build the future economy if insurance companies do not have data to provide a due diligence proper risk assessment which sets the rates. cheers mate let me know if i can help you with the CAA my scope of understanding largely covers California air space.

In Bangkok, Don Mueang International Airport, there is a golf course right next to the runway (look on Google Earth). How crazy is that? And we cannot fly a small model within 5 miles of an airport in UK. I guess golf balls are harmless to aircraft.

There are more rich people in a smaller space in New Zealand than there are total number of people in a bigger space in Canada.

Could be worse. Ya could be driving down the road and be hit by a manned aircraft here in the US and the crap pilot can SUE you for the full price of their problems. Being their injuries and crashed aircraft. And that is just driving a motor vehicle on the road!

the gentleman who was arrested for the drone allegations at gatwick had actually been a frequent customer of the radio control hobby shop that i work at. his main area of interest was nitro helicopters.

Analysing all laws and regulations, pointing out parts that are missing in some, or are different with other might unite all of them in one global. In my experience that new global is always cluster of strictest. So, yeah, good idea or bad idea? O.o
