Here is my first FPV250 kit all ready to tear up the skies. Decided to remove the camera Tilt to reduce weight. Had to add 1/4 inch aluminum spacers to the rollbar to clear the servo wires. The Flip 2.5 is pretty much plug n play. I didn’t have to do anything to config files, yuk!!
Hooked up BT module and selected gear switch for HORIZON and 3 position switch for BARO and MAG. Then adjust radio endpoints for TAER and she is ready. Only issue I am having now is my throttle range. I have to be at least 50 percent Throttle for motors to start spooling up.
I am using MultiWii EZ GUI app on my LG Optimus android phone to connect to the BT module. It has telemetry function too!!
All pics are shot from LG phone and used video wiz app to convert to 720p video all from the phone. I love it!!

Enjoy!!
My new FPV250 :)
I ordered one of these frames from HK. Really like the micro form factor.
Nice build! Very neat. Do those 5×4.5 props come in the combo package from
HK? Just seems like aggressive pitch for those motors.
Thanks Scott! I love the fact I can fly this thing anywhere I feel like. No
more waiting for a nice calm day! I’ve been tuning this beast the past
couple nights in my bedroom and living room and having a total blast!
btw, hk includes 5030 props in their kit. 5045 props were the only ones
avail at the time but no issues at all. ESC, motors are around 87 degrees
when I land. That is a good sign. I have 5030 2-blade props I will try with
the 2nd kit I am building.
How many time it flies whit the standar battery ?!
My old 3s 1300mah 20c lipo gets about 9.5 min flight time without fpv gear.
Just ordered mine yesterday before they sold out can’t wait (-:
You will like it. Pretty easy build to do.
You probably need to calibrate your esc’s and if that is not it then change
the minthrottle in config.h
I found out my flip board got corrupted when I used 2.2 GUI version. I have
to erase eeprom and reload config file. Haven’t had the time.
Nice Build, am considering this frame. How are you handling your power
cabling?
Power wires are soldered to black XT60 plug. I use turnigy 18AWG silicone
wire & 4mm shrink tubing. Power dist board is just dead weight so I don’t
use it for the fpv250
Can u please tell me what u have in place for mixer and editor settings on
the kk2. Im so frustrated for two days now trying to tune mine. I have the
multistars and the simonk 12a..
I use stock settings for my mixer and editor. make sure you have done the
throttle calibration procedure properly. My gain settings are here…
+krashNburn i just flew with your settings outside and everything well.
Then just flew again and it did a flip about 3ft off the ground. Its just
so wishy washy. My build is the exact same as yours. Ive been up and down
on the pi gains for two days. Only thing im unsure is what should the
percentages be on travel adjust. I have the dx6i. Ail and elev are on 50
percent and rudder on 100. I pass the reciever test. Trimmed to 0 before
every take off and also do a acc test every other take off. I just dont
know what to do anymore. Im waiting on the usb programming thing to come in
the mail. I have 1.5 on the kk2 not the newer 1.6.
+krashNburn hey jus wanna say thank you for the advice..turns out i was
flyin with auto level off. Haha ugh. This was my first time usin kk2 board
but i think i got it down pretty solid now. Now to do a deadcat kk2 and
drq250 with cc3d. Busy busy.. thanks again!
Woohoo! Glad you got it working dude. Its good to fly on acro mode anyway
hehe. Stock up on arms for deadcat they will be on b/o forever. I have my
eye on that drq250 too it looks good. Let me know how that flies
“Its time to fly!”
Then the video *ends*.
Ummm…dude…why wouldn’t you show it flying?
Hi, u can check out my other vids for FPV250 action.

This video shows the battery life which you can expect with the stock
battery of the HobbyKing Spec FPV250. I’m just cruising around, with one
high altitude maneuver. The flight time using the 1000mAh Turnigy 11.1V (3s
LiPoly) stock battery is a bit more than 6 minutes including FPV equipment
(transmitter, antenna) and a Mobius on the quad.
That is not too bad, although upgrading it to 1400 mAh lipos with a higher
C rate is definitely worth it. In the weather which I flew it in, the stock
battery constantly drops to below 3.3 volt / cell when going over half
throttle, which makes the voltage alarm go off. This also makes it hard to
realize when the battery is really empty, which caused the emergency
landing in the end.
I’m now using the stock battery for my DIY glasses and am very happy with
the upgraded Turnigy nano-tech 1400mah 3S 40~80C lipos, which provide
considerably longer flight times and no more early voltage drops.
Hey krashNburn, i am very new and don’t know a single thing about quad
copter building can u please solve my problem? i will be working on FPV250
but i got a problem i don’t know single thing about programming the flight
controller board ! does every board needs to be programmed? . Probably i
will be using KK2.0. Can u tell me which card i should use which doesn’t
need to be programmed
Thanx
+XxprasharxX kk2 is a good starting board if you’re new. There are tons of
how to videos in youtube to help you build whatever multicopter you
want. You should also explore in rcgroups.com to learn all about
multirotors. there’s a plethora of information already out there and I’m
sure you will find what you are looking for.
what for this BT module?
good one 🙂 you goood like final glide
