That looks like awesome fun Darren, I hope they don’t spoil things by
making stupid laws against it. I would love to have one of those setups :-)
I really enjoyed this episode, just chillin’ and flying quads :D
After watching this now i want a quadcopter even more!!! Cant wait to see
the new hak5 location big ups hak5.

I’m here in the UK and enjoying Hak5. I built my TBS disco a few months ago
and love FPV… I totally get what you mean about the UK laws on how we fly
here and it’s a shame FAA wouldn’t see it like CAA here…. Hope you guys
win as we all need to stick together…
Keep up the good work Hak5 guys…. You got me into SDR and loving it ;)
That looks insane fun! Love the show. You could put lasers on it on have
laser air warfare 🙂
thanks for sharing bro n nice flying

+Darren Kitchen Thanks! And I’m a total noob at these 😀
+George Kozi I agree. Range is underwhelming across the board at the
present time. 5-10 miles would be a good start.
How it’s called this frame?
+jan badia Check out the earlier comments, all the parts are listed there 🙂
+Esa Edvik Thanks, I saw that the frame is a Nemesis 240 Mini FPV Quadcopter
I don’t think it’s necessarily a safety issue in going after FPV flying, I
think there’s probably influence from the national security institution.
parts list would be cool !
is that a fatshark headset?
Darren, How much money would you need to get into this hobby? It looks
like crazy fun!
It really is too bad that the news/media has gotten the general public
deathly afraid of ‘drones’ or whatever term someone who know’s absolutely
nothing about it has coined up. I don’t think the FAA is dumb enough to
totally ban them. I hope at max they have guidlines or require a license if
you’re flying fpv (Like armature radio).
I think it would be a decent idea to require some kind of low battery
indicator, altitude, and maybe even return to launch (not exactly good for
250 class where you might be in a forest)
do the FAA ever play with this or they just put rules not knowing what it
is?
Hey Darren i was wondering if you can remember your playing around with the
Raspberry pi? I was wondering what the Add On device was for measuring
distances. I remember it working with sound waves and calculating the time
it takes for them to travel back.
Also, do you know if they would be disturbed by hair?
Thanks in advance せんぱい
I have to get one of these. I’m selling all my other rc’s. Boats, cars,
trucks, heils, and planes. I’m in! Long live fpv mini quads…
Pretty neat
great vid darren, keep em coming
Your quadcopter hobby beats making bull scrotum tobacco pouches by a mile.

+Hak5 Hey guys, I am not sure if this is the best way of reaching out. Some
people mentioned that we should meet up and shoot something together. I
just discovered your channel! Really nice! I am an FPV pilot located in
SF/Bayarea. Let me know! and keep up the great channel.

Naze when you where buying the parts…
Hello, me liked the video and how you assembled the PC I see you have dji
naza mounted values that profits have put it to you fence so well thank
you a greetings
Actually we already have the LOS regulation here in Sweden, but the
solution is simple; just bring a spotter. As long as your spotter can see
it, you’re flying LOS according to our regulations. Since a spotter is
always good to have anyway, nobody (except for the stereotypical Phantom
flyers) has an issue with it.
Our problem on the other had is that we can’t publish aerial footage
without permission from the military (old rules from back in the days of
tactical spy planes). It’s easy to get what’s called a “self-evaluation
grant” (“självgranskningsrätt” in Swedish), but it’s still a hurdle for new
flyers and with the increasing popularity it’s becoming an issue to
actually process all of these requests when they’re only going to publish a
few videos every year.
Commercial use is pretty much impossible as a hobby pilot as well. If
you’re doing anything to help someone else with your multirotor, be it
footage or flying a wire over a neighbors house, technically that’s
commercial use (even though no money is exchanged) and you’re breaking the
law. I don’t think they’re actually enforcing it if all you’re doing is
helping your neighbor with his Christmas lights or participating in a
search team, but it’s still supposed to require a license that cold cost
~$1000 per year with loads of hoops to have the aircraft registered.
These Quads are great fun dude..
WOW, I’m new to your channel and I’m glad I watched this. Your existential
thought at the beginning of the video was so interesting
