In this video, I test the new RunCam2 HD Sport Camera and the SKYRC GPS/GLONASS Speed Meter. I was looking to upgrade my current hatcam (RuncamHD) to the newer version, the RunCam2, which has a lot more features than the previous version. In this first test, I found that the new RunCam 2 does not have the same audio quality as the original, thus making it not suitable for hatcam use, but I do think it makes a great sport camera for drone flying. The SKYRC Speed Meter worked very well and it’s tough as nails!!!

The Big Rock’s top speed: 49mph = 79kph
The Pirates 3 top speed: 33mph = 53kph
The RunCam 2’s audio was a little disappointing to me as there are no audio/microphone adjustments available. I do think the RunCam 2 might make a great action camera for drone flying. I’ll do more testing and try some other applications & uses for it. For now, I’m going back to my original RunCam HD as my primary hatcam. Thanks for watching guys!!!
Kool, but you should put the GPS meter in the bed of all of your vehicles to protect it, man 50 mph out the box ,not bad at all, thanks for sharing, I won’t be making videos until February (personal stuff) but I will have my Shredder v2. Yeah sound is everything as you said and the Runcam 2 surprisingly sounds muffled compared to your original. That’s why I switched to a camera that supports an external mic. I’ll never go back to internal mic cameras because the difference is so huge and wind noise is so much less with an external. I use a Firefly 8s with external mic. Glad to see you got a GPS module. I need to get one but don’t want to spend the money. I thought David got his really cheap off Wish. Using my old beater phone just isn’t practical especially on small cars.
Speeds are so deceptive on cameras. They didn’t look as fast as you got but I’m sure that’s the camera. I’ve also noticed cars look faster at night. I got 49mph on my HSP buggy on 3s which is my fastest car. I’m still shocked my Maximus was only 42mph on 4s. It seems faster.

That speed meter is pretty cool, I want one now. And sorry your new Runcam doesn’t have the audio quality you were looking for. Recording good audio is always harder than it should be, but you have always done a good job at it. Have you heard the DJI maybe working on an RC car, a real RC car, not another Robomaster.
Hey Soul Force.. Was considering getting a action cam for either or both helmet cam while riding motorcycle or dash cam and since I really don’t need audio for either could you recommend the run cam for that? Wondering your thoughts
