man i love dji drones i have them but when i saw this i quickly bought a 400$ fpv drone
what is that whoosh effect ? did you add it in? because all you can hear on board of a drone is buuuuuuuuuuuuuuz not whoosh even if you are flying the wing, unless you falling down then you will be hearing servos on control surfaces
Cinematic vs Experience. Each has their use. The Phantom is much more cinematic and shows the subject in a more understandable situation. The FPV creates an insane viewing experience, however it does not show the subject in a way that we can fully understand the surroundings.
Different drone give you different things. This is like comparing a dolly to a hand held gimbal. And the DJI can go faster and if you train enough you can get similar all be it slower results buy moving the camera on the DJI. You can even speed up the footage in post and add motion blur. So idk if say DJI if you really wanted to get technical. But again, use the right tool for the job.

Ive never seen a more biasely edited video in my life. Fpv is cooler imo, but you made regular drone footage look like absolute shit.
A bit unfair comparison I think..
Where are all the intelligent flight modes you can use with the dji.. Do a stable hover with a race drone.. and move your camera on all axes.. some things are almost impossible to do with your fingers that a dji does…I love fpv too but a dji drone is a different tool..

Beide Arten haben was tolles und wenn ich ein ruhiges Lied nehme, wird die Racing Drohnenaufnahme eher schlecht dazu passen. Nehme ich ein baller Lied, dann passt es klar und die ruhe der Natur kommt bei ruhigen Aufnahmen auch eher rüber, dennoch sehen die der Racing Drohne geil aus.
FPV battery live 2-3min max. against 30min. FPV hold my beer.
My wife can handle the pictures of the DJI but get sick of the pictures you shot whit the FPV.
So I have to upgrade my wife’s version from 1.0 to 8.3 I guess.

I stumbled upon fpv videos by someone on instagram… Didn’t know they have come so far!! My jaw dropped when I saw some shots, couldn’t believe it was even humanly possible to control a drone like that. Check a guy on insta called johnny_fpv and you’ll be impressed!

FPV makes me dizzy on a phone screen. I can’t image it on a theater screen lol. That’s where the beautiful DJI shots shine, smooth, stable, beautiful. FPV is great as well for some more exciting shots.
Dji is more like exploring and taking you time to enjoy the view from above , FPV is for adrenaline junkies wanting to go really fast

Don’t get me wrong, FPV is balls-out awesome. But it’s not “cinematic”, looks like someone strapped a jet to a GoPro… which is freaking cool! But not “cinematic”

We need a drone in the middle, has some nice flying FPV characteristics but at the same time you can just let go of the sticks and it just hovers like a DJI. Also as much as I love FPV views sometimes all the swooping takes away from the grand epic views of the area. There is a tool for each job.

dji drones is just fcking slow poke. everyone is amazed and never came back from dji drones once they experienced fpv drones. downside is, it’s a learning curve. you can’t fly fpv drones just like dji. it is very different. 🙂

Last fpv shot is exactly what could be wrong with such footage. Instead of showing great views he stick to the cliff and not showing it. The artistic value is what matters, and the picture was bad. All I saw is the guy doing excercises with his drone instead of showing breathtaking views

Some pilots have both fpv and dji drone. So you can start your footage with quiet overview of location made by DJI and then switch into details with FPV.

This is basically a video trashing almost everything DJI makes. FPV for the win. Also the whooshes are used way too much.
Well, the DJIs are more “cinematic”, in the sense that they show what could arguably filmed from a helicopter. Those insane dives and climbs from the FPV are something that has only come up in cinematic footage with the advent of drones. So the title is kinda misleading. It’s rather “old school cinematics vs modern ones”.
