Here are 10 reasons why the DJI FPV drone is really not such a good option for existing freestyle drone fliers.

Its a product for the DJI whale consumer that has seen cool fpv videos, but likes to play it safe with the old Mavic….now they can “Fly FPV”
Not that you would ever fly 5 to 6 meters away from anyone given how much you have fought against restrictions š
#1 it’s DJI, The Apple ? kf the drone world.
#2 the transmitter is a Wii controller. ???
soo many of these are for sale 2nd hand already…..
I won’t buy one for 2 reasons.
1. It’s DJI
2. It’s DJI.
Borrow money to buy one.
Like a fine wine, your videos just keep getting Better and Better . . . now what do I disagree with here . . . . . . absolutely nothing ? Great Work Bruce
Open TX is open source software. They raised their nose to open source. Newbies should ? run from this one.
I like this cap backward dude.
Hey Bruce . I’ve bought dji v2 goggles. Waiting for them to get stock from getfpv. If they arrive and dji doesn’t have a fix for connecting to fpv mode to use my air unit . Could I drive to Tokoroa to bind to your dji drone so as to change this setting. Cheers ScottyDog FPV from Te Awamutu…
I like the way you think.

11. Propellers are expensive
12. Battery costs as much as a drone
13. Propriety ecosystem
Awesome video as always Bruce!
Too noisy…..you gotta be kidding Bruce it’s a drone not a butterfly what do you expect?
Here’s a big one, you may miss out on whoops and micros if you go the DJI route, to me they are the most relaxing fun to fly. No stress no worries about hurting people and you can just chill out front and rip. If you’re afraid of building there no need to anymore and in fact BNF are considerably cheaper than building your own! Plenty of complete solderless builds out now as well so the hobbie is really opening up IMO.
DJI is the worst…..?
25mw Omg put most people off instantly
Entertaining humorous and informative. DJI Dust Junk It !
Can you review the potential d58?
I do agree the Dji is a pile of wank…. However, this man is an absolute nonse
Talks as fast as a nonse too. Slow down daddy
“You’ll have to send your wife onto the street; make her work on the street to pay for your FPV addiction.”
FPVers: *snort*…”Wife”…
A well known reviewer on YT recommends the DJI FPV as a great beginners drone. I think that is ridiculous. What are your thoughts?
Good advice ?? #islandfpv
And 15 bucks for 2 props? And…….donāt break it! You will be really upset to have all that money sitting in the corner collecting dust.
#11. ITS MADE IN ?? China ‘ you know the place where the virus came from. The same place Bidens kid is getting rich from.
Lots of fpv gatekeepers just hating on everything DJI especially this one where they think all their nerdy hard work engineering has been denied by this drone. Iām pretty sure itās a hybrid drone people should know this by now
Iām waiting for 10 More Reasons Part 2 & 3.
fk DJ(gay)I
I’m convinced. Not going to buy it.
Always, honest and too the point. You rock! I determined not to purchase that one even before the rumors started and glad I stuck to my guns!
Well Bruce you’ve done another awesome job keep up the good work. Telling it like it is.āļø?ļø
Who is this “someone”? The fee for replacing an arm is about $100. Not nickels and dimes but also not $200. I’ve already seen replacement parts spring up but if you hurry, you can keep telling people there aren’t any a few more times before it becomes common knowledge.
Oh and is this “10 reasons why you don’t want to buy this for Freestyle” or as a GPS Camera Drone?
It doesn’t need voice interactions with the built in features…RTH… besides, the OSD is really good, especially compared to the “cheap” rigs you’re talking about. I guess if you need someone to hold your hand even more than displaying it right in front of you and automatically bringing the drone home if you forget…
Again, is the about Freestyle, or camera drones? How many axis is the gimbal on your freestyle rig? DJI is blending the genre and coming out with a hybrid of both. I agree it’s not the world’s best FPV drone, nor is it the best camera drone BUT it’s actually better than most other companies camera or FPV drones. I mean, you can build a better freestyle drone and I could build a better camera drone as well, what does that prove? WillCan your freestyle drone do the things the DJI FPV drone can? Nope. In fact, it would be near impossible for someone like you to build a drone with the same capabilities as the DJI drone. Period. DJI could release a BNF Freestyle quad that would boot stomp anything you can put together and sell it for $200… Sometimes, I think that’s what some of you are worried about.
How many times are you going to mention repairs and lie about it?
I’m pretty sure it’s not DJI’s fault about the EU’s regulations… Wait, are you using illegal radios to fly freestyle? I hope not…
I got authorization by an Air Force Base yesterday, if you can’t figure it out… I’m not a fan of NFZ’s but I do work for the FAA and Homeland, they get about 100 drone incident reports a month. Obviously, some, maybe most are garbage but still.
Geez Bruce, now you have two channels bashing this drone. Congratulations…
DJI is putting together a complete ecosystem. People have been asking for googles for the newer drones. These FPV Goggles and Motion Controller will work on the next gen camera drones like the Air2S and Mavic 3 Pro. Both of which will have a “FPV Mode” similar to the Mavic Air 2. Sometimes, I think FPV fliers forget that they are a very small percentage of the market. Every drone in the world wasn’t made with you in mind. Get over it. I don’t bash every new BetaFPV, Emax or iFlight drone that comes out, geez…
tri prop never grabed me for some reson
I was excited about the Goggles+kwad package until I heard you can’t repair it yourself and there are no spares. Screw ’em. I’ll buy the goggles and fly my own stuff.
In reality this thing has its main focus of getting cinematic shots. The aim is to fly with caution to get the types of shots that it’s capable of getting. It’s not a freestyle drone and it’s not a toy and flying it recklessly is asking for a crash. Alot of people upset over the drone not being invincible. Don’t crash it.
I’ve stopped counting at some point and ordered one.
I will never support dji again. I have a mavic pro that they will not support at all. Cannot get batteries for it and it is still like new. Total waste of money.
Look mom I got a flying brick. And the motors are attached with tooth picks. Ok son, we have some tooth picks if you need any.
Oh and you did get paid, it’s called a 1300 dollar drone. I’ll give you 500 for the whole gig. everything they sent you and I’ll pay shipping. Not
II thought you could not fly i with Android phone
I love my DJI FPV, is as good to me as a noob. Is not at all disappointed.
I’m very interested in getting an all-in-one plug-and-play low-skill FPV drone with good battery life and near-cinematic quality camera. Any suggestions?
lol the camera needs to be cropped anyways as the props are in shot LMAO
Lol let em keep crashing thinking it’s a fpv race drone
Greatest piece of shit to hit the market in a long time…Not if it was free would i take it…
I agree Bruce
They should’ve just released a firmware update to add support for their air unit rx and an acro mode to their current quads. This was just a money grab for them, and to be honest, I respect that. The DJI fanboys are lapping it up.
I like the fact that you have pissed off both camps. Thinking for yourself seems to be a lost art nowadays. Carry on, sir!
Just like Apple and Tesla, everything proprietary so that they can continue to make money from each and every item they sell for the life of that item.
Finally a no-frill and down to earth review. Somewhat promising, but I’ll wait for at least V2 or later. The issues you raised are show stoppers for me.
Bruce-y, Bruce-y… Come on, my Bruce-y!
Whazza matta, you don’t like our new Drone, Mr. Bruce-y? Whaddya, some kind of friggin tough guy?
Well my boy, lemme tell you a short story… You don’t like-a the drone, we don’t-a like you, Mr. Bruce-y.
And you don’t want us to not like you, Bruce. No no no nonononono, you don’t want that at all, now do ‘ya?
Love, Mista DJI
(don’t sleep)
OĀæO
Spot on Bruce. Stay real…stay free!
I was hoping when he got back from his phone call he would remember all the good things about this drone and why it is worth buying .
Unlike all other freestyle FPV drones …this one has a brilliant automatic Camera pitch Gimbal .
It also has (unlike most other FPV drones …
GPS
Return to home
A brilliant on-screen three-dimensional return to Home marker .
Beginner mode / sports mode / acro mode .
Automatic bail out button pause button in any mode .
Better flight battery indurance than many other FPV drones ( however still could be better ) .
Find my drone .
… and although it’s not as quiet as other camera drones it’s still fairly low compare to some of the very noisy (build it yourself type FPV racing drones flying under full acro )
I was actually very impressed with how good camera was considering it was never designed to be a replacement for a proper camera drone .
I flown this DJI FPV drone for a few weeks now and it’s a real machin e, incredibly reliable …and fast as hell when you know what you’re doing …
Completely agree for the DJI FPV! DJI did not listen to anybody! What the hell was DJI thinking of! What a bunch of idiots!
Cheers fella. Your honesty is always appreciated.
There was no chance of me ever buying this though, even with my hat the right way around. ; )
I love it! I want a fast, cinematic, excellent vids. Get the Care thing, use your own insurance. Done 2 amazing vids with it at theskyview dot net the YT channel. I do not want to get in fixing things all the time. Care thing gives you 2 replacements. I love your work but this drone? I love it, most exhilarating experience.
4 DJI videos, no actual review vid of Sharkbyte…spill the beans man, negative or positive, Fatshark needs to hear it from the Bruce!
Mr Bruce
I don’t remember all 10 …

This is a high octane Mavic
NOT A FREESTYLE DRONE
NOT A FREESTYLE DRONE. !!!
PS. I WOULD (AM) BUYING IT JUST TO HAVE SMART LIPOS. THAT IS ESSILY WORTH ,$1300.
It’s a toy not drone
So, if you buy this you’re just buying the right to use it as per DJI terms and conditions – it’s not properly yours. Of course the t’s and c’s can change anytime DJI fancy. Doesn’t seem like a decent value proposition to me.
Not sure how I ended up here but as a Mavic flyer and new to FPV….I quite like this drone. I’m happy I bought it.
Well it’s looking like you should have posted this one first ?
Both the first & last points you raised in this video are an ethical concern, for me.
The fact that you cannot repair the drone yourself – IE You *have* to send it to DJI for *them* to repair it (if they do, they charge exorbitant amounts of money to get ‘er done); & the fact that DJI has it geo-fenced – IE You cannot simply fly it whenever & wherever you want, even though you still have the legal permission to do so, but DJI still says “No!”
Both of those things are highly unethical, as it stops those that want to repair their own drones from being able to repair their own drones. If DJI (or anyone else, for that matter) made a helicopter with the same anti-repair practices, I wouldn’t buy it.
Geo-fencing also stops those that have the legal permissions to fly in otherwise infringing areas from doing so, as it assumes that the end user doesn’t have legal permission to fly (say for example) in/on/near an airport/heliport.
As I’ve said, that’s unethical, that’s a deal breaker for me; & *that* is why I am not going to buy myself one of these drones.
Itās not 200 for a arm. Please do your research. Unsubscribed and disliked
damn it feels good when xjet validates your opinions.
When the cap goes backwards… you *know* he means business! ? Love ya, Bruce! ?
Wow it cost that much for arm!?!? You could buy a analog Nazgul5 4s Bnf for that. Crazy.
Everything he said is real from my experience that drone is trash
I don’t like that the battery is part of the chasis (landing gear) one bad landing and good bye to the expensive battery.
It’s 2021, you can work the streets with her
backwards cap gang
You can get arms now. Just not officially from DJI.
What alternatives do you recommend?
I did not know that !!! Should be renamed “Forced Style FPV Drone ” !!
??? I am not impressed. It is the rich mans entry to fpv, who only flew gps stabilized. Dji are going to make lots of $ on repairs now, since all their other drones have aftermarket repair parts, this hype step is needed, to keep up their market position. For 1300$ I can get sooo much fpv gear. I can build 5 great freestyle drones for that price.
Dji is like the Nike of shoes… They look cool but there absolutely overpriced and theres plenty of manufacturers out there that are actually better for less..
Iām an electronics engineer .. why do people buy phones .. people build your own .. cheaper & stronger .. oh .. mmm .. your not an electronics engineer .. well , learn
Dji Fpv is amazing and the more people support it the better it will get. I and a lot of others have no interest in soldering and building my quad. Just give me the drone and let me fly. The anti dji cult is just as annoying. “Don’t buy this drone” How about, Fuck off? “doesn’t have voice telemetry” I flew it 2 and a half miles away from my position and back and when i touched down i had 30 % battery left. Who gives a fuck about voice telemetry? And 4k quality is better than that shit analog
Excellent info.
I have been flying pro since 2011, mostly inspections on the electrical grid and similar. I have a long time experience with DJI gear and the more I learn, the more I dislike this company.
From the lightbridge 1 that stopped working when the battery went dead, the constant changing of equipment that isn`t backwards compatible, not field repairable and the closed proprietary systems that “have is own inner secret life”. People pay ridiculous money for very poor build quality.
Today, it is our policy not to use any DJI equipment, but only open source.
The same is true for my private FPV flying quads and fix wings.
Open source is the way to go!
well if you pass some that doesnt hear i believe you that he doesnt hear it.. xD of fucking way you gona hear it any ways..
Every one in fpv world is upset that dji has built the drone so many of us want and we didnāt have to build it! Not that Iāve ever heard of an fpv drone with all the features the dji fpv has.. itās an amazing drone!!! lol
cost, reparability, replacement parts, battery cost, Frikking hell
It’s in my opinion these consumer drones (remember when we just called them quadcopters or quads?) that’s caused all the crap for us fpv pilots (starting with the erm phantom (probably)). Yes many will buy them and fly sensibly, however a lot, as has been documented will not and do not, like the idiots flying over football matches, concerts, near major airport landing paths) etc with their shop bought ready to go easy peasy long range machine. People that build or even buy your standard non consumer drone generally even if it’s ARTF have to solder, setup in betaflight etc, and have much more respect because of the effort it takes and the skills needed to fly them.
This DJI FPV is great for getting (rich) new people into the hobby but at such a cost (and just maybe geofencing is a good idea for these people). In the UK now it’s so restrictive because of aforementioned idiots, and very few documented cases where by people that built their own.
7:47 slightly off topic, but I’m assuming that having an amateur radio license would change that limit requirement?
I don’t see it in the bandplans though
Sorry Dji I would not buy this drone.
I think Andy RC said they were discontinueing their FPV drone. Good idea to kill it quick.
It should have been made user repairable.
Bruce is there anyway to add voice telemetry to a Turnigy 9XR? (the original not the pro version)
DJI is pissed now. No more vistas for you FPV guys. LOL
itās a unibody, non-modular frame with proprietary parts. itās cinematic but props are in camera and no option to strap a gopro.
hard pass. iāll buy more parts for the cost of a propeller.
And an 11th reason: Wait two or three years and you will not get any replacement batteries or propellers. Both are proprietary parts which are incompatible with any third-party parts.
Nice one you saved me $1300 !
Why did they make the drone to land/takeoff on the battery, how safe is it?
These are all good reasons to not buy it, as you very well say. Cheers from Montreal, Canada!
the biggest deal breaker here is 4 me that you cant fly it where you whant. thats the reason i sold my mavik pro and got my self a blade 350qx with c2go gimbal cam equipt with fpv system š its awsome! maybe ill make a video to it this week.
Can you fly on your own property if you live within a no fly zone?
I just bought one and totally agree with both 10 reasons to buy or not buy. But besides that, am I the only one that hates how it looks? It looks like the big gooey critter from Alien to me. I’m glad I have to fly it FPV instead of looking at it, because it kind of creeps me out. Great videos as always!
Thank you, Bruce! This is the best full review of the DJI FPV drone I have seen. Excellent information and thanks for staying positive on a negative subject. Ha, ha! Yes, the DJI FPV is way too expensive to repair. A person should get a real FPV quad if they want to “free style.” And, get a quality DJI camera drone–if they want to film with stabilized 3-axis gimble. I think the DJI Mini 2, Mavic Air 2 or Mavic 2 Pro is the best portable drone for the money. This DJI FPV drone is a like the bastard offspring of a camera drone and FPV quad–but, it has “de-evolved” into a mutant monster doomed to go extinct. “They were so worried about if they could . . . they didn’t stop to think if they should” to quote Jurassic Park. “Natural Drone Selection” says it’s not worth the money. And, it sounds like a hive of killer bees while it’s just hovering in place. Good grief!
Hi Bruce ,we all know that DJI are criminals ,they are always trying to trick us and who don’t think so ,they are just fooling them selves ,that Drone is too expensive and like I told someone on another channel ,they will soon be no batteries available for it ,just wait and see , it is only a matter of time .I give it three years or so and they will do the same thing they are doing to us with the Mavic Pro .Thousands of Mavic Pros out there and DJI is a billion dollaer company but can’t provide you with batteries ,who don’t think that is ridiculous are just plain crazy and I don’t care how they explain it .DJI will capitalize on the new stuff and then hang you out to dry when they make a newer product .take care Bruce .
No, my friend. You are across the pond. I don’t know from your accent whether you are British, Australian, New Zealand? I can’t tell I’m American. However.
I know how technically precise and exact. You British like descendent folks can be. And what you don’t understand here. This is a toy. Designed for a wealthy family. To purchase for their teenager. Who’s going to need to purchase more than one. It’s a great business plan! Because it wasn’t designed for you. You’re a professional at this.
Note this is an entry-level toy that cost a lot of money. Designed for wealthy parents as a gift for their little spoiled rich rotten youngsters. And if they have more than one youngster. They’re going to purchase more than one of these drones. It doesn’t matter how expensive they are. They don’t have to assemble anything. They are ready to fly and destroy. And then they can purchase another one or two. Or maybe they will step up to the more expensive models? And think they can do the same with the Phantom-4 Pro B type II. That won’t work for FPV. You can try. It’s going to crash. It’s going to get destroyed. But you can try. If you’re wealthy. Who cares what you destroy that’s brand-new if you’re wealthy? Do you think Donnie Junior or Eric cares if they smash a brand-new Ferrari? Of course not. They’ll just go out and purchase a Maserati instead. Or a Lamborghini instead.
So there are those of us that have like to design and build our own works of art. Our own contraptions. Our own award winning recording studio equipment. Some even design drones. Like you.
Personally I am not into the FPV acrobatic aeronautics. I am a videographer/cinematographer. I like beautiful shots and scenery that take your breath away. Not shots and scenery, that look like you are about to die. Or divebomb to kill somebody. Just to have fun! Yeah I’m not into that childish emotionally immature bullshit. I’m into beautiful filmmaking.
Beautiful stories and scenery. That doesn’t make you need to have a shower after you are done watching it. After messing your pants.
I’m sure it’s a fun hobby to do. All of those acrobatic Aeronautics. It’s truly stellar looking. It’s absolutely mind blowing to watch and experience. And you know how to get that great footage. Others don’t. They know how to crash.
I’m sure this keeps you on your, reactive toes. It keeps you limber. It keeps your mind quick and your eyes sharp. It improves your reflexes. And your dexterity. Your fine motor control of your fingers. Not easy at our age without shaking. And it helps to keep you young and vibrant. And so I can understand your attraction and hyper intense passion. Why the drive through McDonald’s quick smacking lip smacking, ready to fly out of the box, headset mounted, deep immersive experience. Of your first toy prefab already built FPV rich kid drone. And doesn’t matter how many times you crash or destroy the thing. Your trust fund will supply as many as you need. As we would not want that little Lord Fauntleroy to go unhappy. With a broken drone. Just throw that one out and get a new one, instantly! They are only $1500 US. That’s nothing for a wealthy parent to spend on their child for a toy.
So I think the folks at DJI are just pure geniuses! They are going to make better cinematic drones for us. As they make these bullshit toys for all the children that want out of the box FPV drones they don’t want to have to build themselves. Because that would take some thinking and planning and talent and dexterity and work. You and I don’t mind putting in that kind of effort. Because we are oldsters. And we always found out. If you wanted something done right. You do it yourself. If you don’t know how? You’re going to teach yourself. Through trial and error.
No young kid today knows how to do that. They don’t even know how to speak clearly. They only know how to text abbreviations. We are all in deep trouble. These children will be looking after us when we become old and infirm. They will leave us to rot. They will neglect us. They won’t know how to do anything. If they haven’t watched a 10 minute YouTube video. And there’s no app on their phone. They’ll just walk away.
So you need to cool down my UK friend and have yourself a Guinness. Because Guinness is good for you. Even I know some of your advertising campaigns. And I know it’s good for me. And you will live a longer happier life my British friend. When you realize why that shitty contraption was created at the price it was created at. And it comes with that special outerspace looking helmet! That can make every child and adult pretend they are on a Star Wars Star Fighter. Oh boy! What fun! I feel like Luke Skywalker! And I have my headset on that makes me look like a futuristic automaton. Where anybody could attack me. Without my knowledge. Until I find myself bleeding on the ground. And/or dead. Because I had a stupid outerspace looking headset on to have a more immersive experience.
One can also have an immersive experience of drowning in a swimming pool. I prefer just to swim on the top. I personally do not like drowning. I tried it. It didn’t work for me. At the municipal swimming pool. When some kid jumped in on top of me. And set me right to the bottom. Stunned. Nearly unconscious. And then it’s not good to try and breathe water I discovered. It hurts. I thought I was going to die but didn’t. And so I also have no desire to fly FPV drones. As I also used to drive motorcycles for over 40 years. And never crashed. Other than falling over on some soft grass. Kickstand’s don’t work well on soft grass. And you can’t get it up on the center mount. So parking at the Renaissance Festivals can be problematic. With a motorcycle. You come out. The motorcycle is not up.
So I think I really want a DJI MAVIC Air-2. But I may end up with the MAVIC Mini-2 for my first drone?
Kind of like how I started off as a part-time professional photographer. I started with Conta flex. Moved up to a Minolta SR-1V. Then moved up to a Nikon FG. Then the Nikon F and FT. Then the Nikon F-2.
And so right. The next logical move for me would be the MAVIC Pro-2 Hasselblad 1 inch sensor. But just like mine Minolta and Conta flex eyes started off with. Air-2 is more than 50% to the MAVIC pro-2. But that’s $800. And does have some of the features I would really like to have. Not yet necessarily available in the MAVIC Mini-2. Or just yet? Or this year? Because I want the Air-2. But I don’t want to spend $800 for one. And then the additional money for the Fly More Combo. Which I absolutely intend on getting. Regardless of the model I choose.
From a cinematic standpoint. DJI has it down.
RemyRAD
Big salute …..
Was 90% certain I was getting this in June. Now will keep my Pro and check out the mini 2. Thank you
You have made some good points. I’m sold. I won’t be buying that thing.
no there was clitch in the sound he ment wife mother lol
Reason number one. $1300.00 US.
Your incoming call JAJAJAJA, very funny
greetings from Mexico.
Awesome video! A lot of people don’t have this info. They will hate the drone after they buy it!
The most important reason is you are funding Chinas war on the world.
And in Australia, it is virtually illegal to fly FPV outdoors.
My last dji is f500 quad…I grounded it before flyaway happen
At first I thought this video was going to be a joke… But your points are very valid, well said sir!!! Thank you for sharing ?
I might buy a Mavic from DJI (altho there are very good competitors for a lot less, so maybe one of those), but that’s it, for every point Bruce just made, and many more. Money talks, Maybe the Shark Byte system isn’t as good as DJI’s right now, but it will be before too long, and probably better. And you’ll be able to use it with different brand cameras, FC, frames, radios, and especially goggles. I’ll gladly continue to build my own quads, and use whatever components best suit my needs at that time; not what DJI will ALLOW me to use. And I’ll continue to watch Bruce tell it like it is! Well, at least until the Thought Police decide he’s doubleplusungood and black-bag him and FCModelReviews suddenly disappears and youtube denies it ever existed… In the meantime, keep it up! Kudos, mate!
Is everyone else getting paid to review this drone as an adequate FPV drone…. or the free drone itself is enough?? tut tut.
Sir Bruce Legend.
I don’t race drones so I can see the frustration. I’ve looked into building a DIY drone but there really is very limited options for long distance flight. I’m not into racing.
I can build a drone for Ā£1000 that fits into the palm of my hands, flies 10 to 15 mins, has a standard camera and around a 2k range.
Or I can buy a DJI drone like the Mavic Air 2 with the extra batterys has around 8k range in light winds, brilliant camera and will stay in the air for 30 mins or slightly more with the same money. Also dedicated apps and high functionality as standard without any programming or soldering involved.
BTW don’t crash your drones into the sea like I did with my 2 Xiaomi drones last year. Fimi SE x8 and 2020 version both sank to a watery depth. First one I set hover and lost contact, regained it with 10% battery and she sunk. Second one my app misjudged the wind and almost got it back. I landed it before the last pool of water with tide coming in (she would of made it over), went out to get it and almost drowned before I got picked up by the local hovercraft. I got within 25m of the drone but it drowned in the incoming tide. Always use your own wind measurement tool and set targets to beat with your battery’s one by one. My record was 7300m with my 2020 version ?
cheers Bruce saved me Ā£1300. thanks for the honesty as always
Isnāt there a way to fly in geo fenced zones ? Iāve seen images of it being flown at my drone school which is located in a harbor area. The school has an authorization to fly in that geo zone but other drone operators are not allowed.
so this is a “mommy, may I?” drone
and you know when you have to ask mommy, the answer is “no”
that alone ends any chance of me buying
This review rox! Thanks Bruce!
and also the amount of time DJI will take to make the repair…
Really good points you brought up.
Goggles are cool the drone a lot better ones out there. Way too much money not for me no thanks.
It’s so butt ugly….. it makes any freestyle quad look handsome
My favorite celebrity in FPV universe.
Who will be the first to gut the little piggie and put those guts on a real carbon frame. It’s unfortunate that DJI doesn’t allow for PID tuning because the tuning probably will totally go to hell so it will fly like a dog anyway. Also who knows if shedding the body for a carbon frame will actually make it that much lighter. BTW, you want this aircraft to have tilted horizons not to remove them, the gimbal is good for controlling vibrations but most of all for angling the camera anyway you want without having to land it. That said, you are absolutely right on both cases 10 for and 10 against, guess we all have to weigh 10 v 10 and see if there is a tie breaker beyond them, I bought it, and now I have a tie breaker, the goggles which some of us went into because we also have normal DJI equipped kwads will have to be re-paired every time you switch from the DJI drone to the DJI fpv system equipped true race or freestyle kwads and I believe back again to the DJI drone. I thought I could sell my V1 goggles to cover some of the cost of the fpv drone, but DJI will always F*k things up and make you spend more money. Had I known this, the drone would never had been purchased. Oh well, maybe it will end up on eBay.

Returned it last week and I really wanted to find a place for it in the tool kit. This video goes through all the exact reasons why I had to “send it” back.

Instead of wasting my money on a DJI fpv. What should I spend my money on to get into fpv flying? I would like to get your thoughts on what beginners should start off with. I seen both videos on YouTube and you sell it in on one hand and take it from another. So what do you recommend?

It’s kind of like a partial privatisation of Law Enforcement.

It’s funny, these xyz reasons to buy or abc reasons to not buy are all the same. They’re biased as hell. Boring. I call bullshit on most reasons this video cute as not to buy. Saying it’s noisy is just silly.

Iāve had one sat in my Amazon basket for the last week but youāve killed it for me. Annoyed? No. Thankful if anything for pointing out the 25mW limit here in the UK and the fact a tree at 200m can cause a loss of communication triggering an RTH that may or may not get it safely back. The specs suggest the FPV HD video transmission range is āup to 10kmā but that looks pretty useless if you canāt control it that far in countries with restrictive RF limitations.
This was delightful
China doesn’t do Free(anything), and Geo fencing is just getting you use to being under control, if and when an activity is or is not permitted. They design their tech with the same philosophy.
Screw DJI
A Communist DJI drone???
Here DJI >>>> ??
90% of the nay sayers just talk about price. Itās not built for cheapskate back yarders. Itās for people that have a few extra bucks and want an easy fpv experience. Some people donāt have time to sit and make a drone, they just want to fly. Is it perfect… what is? ?āāļø
1. Because it is DJI
2. Because it is DJI
3. We no longer support or sell DJI.
Here’s a challenge: Build a better quad for the price of one battery for this.
How come we in NZ have the small ranger 25 mw and not 700mw like usa

What new FPV is better. Not old but new FPV
1000% correct regarding freedom
I am sorry sir. This is a lot of blah blah …
Huh, it doesnt arm when you are not in a legal location? š®
some have very good frame desing but other things go down very easy (parrot bebbop drone) frame and props are best but control board is pure garbage (cant survive 1m drop)… so i build my own on same frame and motors …and this thing can fall out of sky with no demage …frame good… props good… just a board it self is a pure crap … so no 4k camera no fancy board but frame is still 100% , im not a fan of DJI but it build better … its like 4 years now and it still works afther some crash landing
I’ll need to call my congressman, demand another stimulus and mortgage my grandkid’s future to buy one of these because my wife won’t work on a street corner. Or anywhere else.
Is there a recommendation for a drone that has the 10 reasons to buy, but has a carbon fiber body and no flight restrictions? I think I could live with the other 10 reasons not to buy.
You’ve changed my mind.
You got it wrong my friend. For me was a good buy. And was Mindfulness for me. Your views doesn’t matter. Plus JB, crashes this drone, he did it on purpose! Get it for free then you won’t appreciate. Plus! Get your wife out earning! You male showmanistic Idiot..
Bruce-your whole character changed when you swung that cap around-You wait until I tell your missus on ya. lol.
