With improved aerodynamics and perhaps using standard equipment instead of increasing the size of everything to make it look scaled to a miniquad, races would be interesting in this size. Larger tracks with huge gates, and you would have some interesting races, especially with huge batteries to give long flight times. You could quite easily make NASQUAD with endurance racing, where people have to pick between flight time and speed, needing a number of packs for a 30 minute-hour race.

Hey, would be really neat to see racing drones with human pilots, similar to pod racing in STAR WARS movie. Like NASCAR racing in the air, but probably would be too dangerous because of collisions. Could still have individual timed racing over a course. (less dangerous). But they do have air racing airplanes now. So, why not? Yes, Formula 1 drones, just think of it.

Hmmmmm softmount the ESC’s and the motors for the Fpv camera softmount that too but for the big scale Fpv camera you need a secondary bracket to hold it in position on top of the frame and more screws but the aesthetic stuff causes some vibration too …. Oh I got it plastidip the ends of the arms anyways great job and amazing flight

You guys actually pulled that off. Impressive. Can you leverage the extra space and see how far you can go in terms of payload capabilities?
You need 5 or 6 blades per motor. Your limitation is the sonic wash over the twin blades. If you increase that to 6 blades you will approach the physical limits of radial velocity (which is sonic speed). With that in mind, no matter what size bladders you use, the outer radial velocity is your limiting factor until a better blade design overcomes the sound barrier limitation. Effectively, supersonic blades creates frequency resonance in the trailing airflow which cause distortion of the propeller and hence increases drag (enemy of lift/thrust). I have an idea of blade design that could assist in overcoming the sluggishness but it does not yet have a patent…

Can you built a quad copter with tilted motors. If you tilt the motors two degrees you can obtain better propulsion, when FPV.

it is possible to use smaller rotors like a 3 blade? i think a smaller rotor will give more agility due to gyroscopic effect what big rotors produce.

What flight controller are you using? I have tried to make some large quads but had flight controller issues, but they were inexpensive ones.

Sooo cool! I would like to see someone focuse on SOUND. I would like to hear the sounds pumped through speakers on it, maybe with synthesized sound. I would like to hear what it sounds like approaching a microphone and going away from it. Seems to me, you can take the sound, and output sounds like a bear or a tiger roaring, or jet airplanes, or a souped-up car, or whatever else your imagination could come up with.

What about a drone whose body moves independently of the propellers? Like if it did a flip, the body would stay upright all the time, like gyroscopically. Or something like that.
