This video includes video I uploaded back in December of 2015 when I made my very first FPV flight with my DJI Phantom. They didn’t call it Phantom 1 because there weren’t any other models at that time.
The FPV “monitor” I could afford back then didn’t allow for folks who wear glasses. I had to come up with my own solution for that. But all of the wiring and mounting and configuring the Phantom to the “monitor” also took some effort to complete.
Needless to say, $349 for a pair of DJI goggles is worth it to me considering the road I have taken to be able to fly FPV with any of my drones.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy and God bless.
? hilarious going back in time. I really liked and enjoyed the video Mr. Kent. Thank you very much for sharing this great video and story with us. The music was just right. ? funny also. Keep up the good work. Please keep those good videos coming. Thanks for all you do and please keep flying. Have a great weekend Captain ?✈️.
Lol I think all of us that go way back have some stories like this . I remember building my DJI F550 and putting a gimbal for my Gopro like camera and gluing a fpv camera to the motor on the gimbal so I had more range than the Wifi . Think what it will be like in 10 years .
Thoroughly enjoyed the video Mr. Kent. A lot has changed in the last few years. For sure. It makes me think about way back when we had no computers and no cell phones. That is somethings my kids never experienced. God bless.
So you weren’t in Arizona back then. Well done bracket mod. GoPro images seem so ‘flat’ from back then. We’ve been getting used to ‘in production’ hue enhancements that brighten the colors. It’s good if you don’t want to be bothered with post production editing and just upload the footage straight away…. but not good if you want to perfect the vid in post… in which case you want the flatter image. – Anyhow thanks for the way-back-machine look at how it used to be… probably still is for many. It’s only been a few years. My how things progress so quickly. Cheers. (Ha! can’t imagine you in a suit and tie. I imagine you more like in a lab coat with pocket protector and vernier caliper sticking out )
That was nice thanks for sharing!
Cheers and God bless from ???
Wow! Great flashback. I love the way the mountains were blanketed with fog. I live in farm country like that now, with pretty red barns and such. I live your PVC rig! I constructed a PVC frame for my desk to film unboxings with. It’s fun and easy to work with. And of course, I know and love that ragtime tune 🙂 Perfect for an old-timey video from way back in 2015. Thanks for making and sharing. I still use box goggles for my Parrot mini drones. I may need to duplicate your handiwork – I like the idea of a quick switch to Line-of-sight! Happy flying, my friend, and God Bless!
I have seen that video before. Nice painting behind you.
