I took our favorite little Zino out on a hot day to test the “overheating” talk and rumors about the drone. I flew it at full throttle through two batteries on a 90 plus degree day.

Yes..Day after day, Zino has really amazed me especially at its price! At first Fimi x8 se has always been my choice but seeing the great improvements on Zino and moreover the upcoming upgraded Zino Pro, I have now second thoughts on Fimi especially its almost $200 difference with Zino. I really hope that the Zino Pro upgraded specs holds true and the issue of most people on Zino like the gimbal unwanted jerk movements, constant wifi disconnection and complicated firmware update issues would not be found in the Pro. Thanks!
That little Zino! Love this thing! When you first took off it just stood put with no movement at all until you throttled up. Love it ☺ Great review and test. You don’t see many endurance tests anywhere. Well done, Marcus!
Judging by the trees and the flag blowing, it looked pretty breezy out there and the Zino seemed to be doing fine. Looked like it held up well if it was as windy as it appeared to be.
Also, Where are you seeing this advertised at the best prices?
Love your videos! Take Care, Marcus!
Great test Marcus ! Two thumbs up !
Hi Marcus. Nice video as always. Did you make any further tests with the sport mode? Because according to the online manual (page 08) there should be a difference in Elevator, Rudder and Aileron which are on 70% in normal mode and at 100% in sport mode. Maybe this solves the mystery of the sport mode button.
Great video Marcus, I’ve done the same thing, 2-3 batteries very hot day and no problems. No overheating issues. The little guy has survived an early release with complications, a lot of scrutiny and yet it’s a survivor. I know we were all beta testers to some degree but this drone has not been a disappointment. It’s not top of the line but it’s the only drone I need as an amateur drone pilot and hack videographer. I look for opportunities to put it up in the air, it’s fun to fly and very reliable.
Nice job Marcus
I have a question for you want to know how is the distance reaches that Drone
*The video quality of the Hubsan is quite amazing.*
Only 90°F+? I just got mine (Zino-Y) and I haven’t been able to fly in *less* *then* 95°F+ weather here in central FL.
I haven’t had any problems so far, everything has been at the ambient temperature or less. Even the motors were only just warm and not too hot to touch.
I’ve never heard of one overheating. I think that’s an urban myth 🙂
I’d expect if there’s any overheating it will show up on the black models first!
Enjoy.
Thanks Marcus.
I’ve been pretty aggressive at over 105 degrees too. Motors get a bit warm but the Zino flies on. No ill effects to this point.
what a beautyfull place to live ! (I’m in south of France ) . What charger so you use for the zino? people use to say that the one that comes with doesn’t charge them at full capacity. So I’m thinking of buy a new one. thanks for yours vid, best reagards Marcus.
I flew two batteries with the black zino the other day and it was 85 and bright sun and after the 2nd battery it was no where near to even being barely warm. My FIMI X8 gets much hotter.
I have to say I really prefer flying the Zino to the FIMI X8, I have far less issues with it and the FPV and horizon is way better on the Zino.
Nice one Marcus. Thanks for explaining the pond. Was thinking “I don’t remember seeing that pond there before” lol
Grüße aus Deutschland!

My Zino hits the pad almost every time. If not on it , it well have one foot on it. Very rarly does it miss completely. Being under and around a metal roof can be bad for connetion.
Hi Marcus, Does the Hubsan Battery Charger discharge the battery then charge as the DJI does?
That looks really good mate great droe great flying really nice vid jan 👌👌👌👌👌👌👍
Anyone know how many megapixels the hubsan Zino’s camera is?
I have the Breeze, want a Zino…
great video, as far as precision landing goes i have found with mine is they do not like the orange side for some reason but works ok with blue side, perhaps its colour blind lol
very nice …by the way ..where did you get your shoes ..I used to have a pair …wore them out !! LOL
Good video, thank you for sharing.
I will buy three Drones very shortly probably this week Im thinking the Anafi, Mavic air and the fimi X8 if you could replace one with the Zino which one would you take away?
Kinda disappointed to see the battery life and top speed so much lower than the advertised specs of 37mph and 23 mins?
I have a issues with loosing connection even at close distances… Any Advice?
Greetz from Germany! What for Camera setting do you used??? I have the Zino and i love the Copter!!!
Hello Marcus just a query regarding the wifi connectivity with Zino. Mostly if not all Zino flyers use the TX to control the movements of Zino, but is it correct to say that when the cable is connected from the controller to the phone and the phone is set to airplane mode and wifi is turned off, primarily to avoid any other wifi connections/interferences and calls/txts, will the connectivity of the app/fpv be more solid all throughout the flight lessening sudden breakups or freezeups in the app/fpv? But you can still browse your photos and videos thru the app during flight with the airplane mode still on and wifi is off? Because when the drone and TX are bonded by their wifi connections and the phone is connected by the cable to the TX, the phone gets its app/fpv signal from the TX which in turn gets it from the drone NOT the phone directly to Zino. But can one simply fly Zino without the phone attached? I think you need the phone app to fly the Zino. This goes true to Fimi x8 se? In short, it is best to have your phone in airplane mode and turn wifi connections off to minimize frequent disconnections with the fpv/app? Thanks
hot weather test . It help drone owner. 👍👍🤝🤝😊😊
The price of Hubsan Zino here in croatia is obout 600 Euros almost like the Mavic Air,but when the price drop down i will definetliy buy it.So nice video and music. The panorma is amaizing 🙂
I just love to watch your videos, nice panorama, nice chill music and so relax fly.You are so coll nad explain everithing.I will definetly buy the Hubsan Zino that will be my 5-th drone if i find hem in the Europe 🙂
Ha… Ha…. Try that with the X8… it will probably explode…. Wow does that thing get hot. What battery charger do you use? Try zeroing out battery 2 and charging up full again. The Zino flis in any weather even sub zero, where the X8 will not. Are you using camera version 36 or 38? Either way… you are right on point… For the money… the Zino is beyond worth it.
What kind of phone you using Marcus.
. I think the zino uses the phone
processor for precision landing. Maybe try a few different ones if you can.
Really nice, super-smooth, responsible flying, Marcus. I’ve flown my Zino from -2deg to 86deg and have not had an issue at either end of the range. Like you I have no real interest in precision landing other than idle (I excel at that) curiosity. After a couple of previous attempts I spent half a morning and three batteries testing the function properly, much to the amusement of several passers-by and dog walkers. The first three attempts resulted in two near misses and a half-on, half-off on the orange side of the pad. I then let it hover for thirty seconds over the blue side of the pad each time and scored four direct hits, another half and half and one bizarre missed by a mile…well, fifteen feet, all of which leads me to conclude that my time and batteries would be better employed filming some of the fabulous scenery around here. Still, as your video proves, the Zino remains an astonishing bargain at the kind of price you can pick it up for now. I’m looking forward to your review of the Pro when Hubsan finally decides to let somebody have one.
Thumbs up ere’ Marcus, fellow Drone Seekers – top man for the shout out! Great test in the heat! Did very well and plenty of info – many thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Marcus whys my zino only doing 9/10 ms out of the box..?
