Do you also know what it does when it losses signal? With the parrot mini drones if you loss signal it just follows you last input so can fly away if your last input was to give it power. Thanks

PS: Probably the app will establish the wi-fi connection with your phone. Nothing to do with your phones home wi-fi connection.

Do you have problems with “Unable to play video, unsupported video codec” messages when trying to reply video after the flight? I am getting that about two thirds of the time and I haven’t figured out what causes it, or what I have done differently when I am able to replay them.

Hey Quadcopter 101, I got a JJRC H12W for Christmas which also has Wifi FPV but I’m having a few problems.
One, when I look at my phone (it’s the same app), the video is always upside down.
Two, props keep hitting the prop guards
Three, I’ve had an issues where the controller disconnects from the quad. Which means I have to rebind it. But sometimes that happens when I’m flying so the quad keeps flying in the last direction for a few seconds then drops suddenly.
I also have trouble fighting the wind which may be me or the quad. If I’m going into the wind I have it full on both sticks and it can only hover for a while
Good review. Been watching WiFi quad reviews for months now. WiFi quads are not good on flying FPV due to video delay and range. Only good for hovering maneuvers like Video or picture capturing. Unless there’s a way maybe you can manually select the WiFi (2.4 ghz to 5 ghz) to the 5 GHz band. Just my 5cents. By the way Happy New Year! I’ll be one year on the end of this month on this fun hobby. Thanks to you, Frequent Flier, Flying Ryan, RC Addict, RC Escape, Forward Flight etc…
