Micro Drone 2.0 Review http://www.DadDoes.Com Today we review the new Micro Drone 2.0 by Extreme Fliers. This is an update to the Micro Drone we reviewed last year, so you may want to view that review as well – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lALgLsncJJE
The big change with the Micro Drone 2.0 is the addition of HD Video and Photo Camera Module. Now you can take 720P video and snap photos while flying the Micro Drone. Battery life is about 8 minutes of fly time without the camera, down to 5 minutes if you are using the camera. We do also want to point out the Camera Module is an add-on, so if you want the camera, you need to get that in addition to the Micro Drone 2.0. Here is more info –
* USB rechargeable battery
* Range up to 400 feet (2.4GHZ Transmitter)
* Weighs just over an ounce
* Pre-programmed algorithm to perform 360-degree flips
* Includes 4 spare blades and a mini screwdriver for attaching the camera
* 6 Axis Gyro stability allows for stable flights
* Robust Metal Structure
* 300 mA/h Li-Po Battery
* High Speed 29,000 RPM motors
In terms of price – the Micro Drone 2.0 sells for $99 and the camera module is another $29. You can find them on sale for less if you look around.
Overall, great quadrocopter. Love that you can do stunts with the push of a button, stay stable with the Gyro and of course shoot video and photos. Battery life is not great, but you can buy additional batteries and swap them out.

I got my drone at a show when I got it home and out of the box I find one
of the bit missing and a another part was broken so on day one could not
use it. Tried to contact extreme fliers by email but no reply tried to
phone them and the phone number was not in service ?. So after 4 days of
out of frustration I purchased a new arm and to my surprise with in 2 days
it arrived. Go to show that they will take your money but will NOT help
with a problem. On day 7 of owning the drone and still not flying it I now
fine one of the motors is sticking and still naff all help from Extreme
fliers. BUYERS BEWARE
Hey +MrJameskearney thanks for watching. Sorry to hear of your bad
experience. We have not had any problems with our Micro Drone 2.0 and have
used it frequently since Jan 2014. I would contact their customer service
– customercare@extremefliers.com if you run into problems and see if they
can get things working. It really is such a fun quadcopter to fly!
Where can I get that SD card/camera unit? That’s pretty handy for Arduino
projects
Hi thanks for commenting but don’t make me laugh I have sent a number of
email’s but all I have had is a email back saying that they have past it to
the customer team and that will get back to me in 72 hours that was over
thee and half week ago and still no response. As I said in my post they
are happy to sell you stuff but they will not help you where when is a
problem. it would be a different storey is I had damaged it but it was
pans out of the box with bits missing so un impressed with there service. I
could go on & on & on but I won’t as I said thank for replying. Bad service
make me so mad James
Yep pans and F**** U*** I was dealing with one in hong kong but just the
same it just seem all the small one have bad back up I am going to bite the
bullit and go for a big one well more money was thinking of getting a The
Parrot Bebop Drone ?
I agree – same exact problem here. Sent emails, and never get a response. I
will never buy from this place again. And I’ll be sure to let others know
as well.
Micro Drone 2.0 Review. First RC Micro Quadcopte…:
Not worth the money. I would not recommend this to anyone. Very short time
in the air and the camera was misrepresented at the show. Perhaps I was
naïve allowing myself to believe that it had a live stream, but when they
were quoting £120 as the starting price it didn’t seem too far fetched. As
a helicopter it is too large for indoors and doesn’t have enough fly time
for outdoors unless you have umpteen charged batteries.
Hey +Scott Urquhart thanks for watching. Sorry, don’t really know how to
troubleshoot that – beyond the obvious…make sure connections are tight
and battery is fully charged. Will it work if you take the camera off?
+Toy, Gadget and Product Reviews by Dad Does
Just got a SD card and hooked up the camera today. Now I don’t get any
response from the drone at all. Get and red LED flash on the board when I
plug in the battery, but nothing else. The battery is fully charged. Any
ideas? I’ve had it less than a day, the support on extreme fliers site
looks horrid so I’m hoping I can fix it myself.
Hey +Ian Wilson thanks for watching and always appreciate honest feedback –
helps everyone. I will say, not sure why they would give the impression it
could live stream – definitely never say that on the site. The problem
with Live Stream is battery power, especially in such a small drone. One
tip in terms of flying and battery power – using the camera eats a lot of
power. If you don’t need to shoot video, leave the camera off and the
battery lasts longer. With all these consumer level quadcopters (under
$300 price range) you generally don’t get more than 7-10 minutes of fly
time.
Looks pretty awesome. I want one! :D
Once this Extreme Fliers has your money, you will never hear from them.
Avoid at all costs.
Camera looks like a Mobius camera without a case. Might want to just Velcro
your own camera on underneath which has it’s own battery inside.
How do I know if the camera is actually recording? Also, you mentioned
there is an option to take a picture from the controller but I have not
figured it out and it does not state it in the manual. Id appreciate your
help! Thanks
Yeah it looks like a toy, until it gets close to a plane or falls on your
home or car or loved one. Is it a toy ? Jas. Grandma.
What if they put drugs in that thing to pass across the Border? Is that OK?
Grandma.
Me as a Grandma, if I see one of those things outside. I all jump up
scared… thinking its an unidentified f flying object. Are u kidding me?
Grandma not has.
quello è mio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you seriously need to tidy your room
It looks more like a game lair than a room bro
+Ian James Fowler I think “seriously” is not expressive enough…..this is
how you know pig.
Hi! As u r a Drone expert, maybe can u help me. My drone have a problem
(please have a look on my video: ) or go on my
profile. maybe u can suggest a solution? It will be really appreciate!
Thank u so much!
just got mine very helpful vid!
OMG SO MANY TOYS ALL I SAW WAS TOYS TOYS TOYS AHGETUGEYGGYGSBGWUBWUGB…
just kidding -.- that kids lucky if I where him I WOULD BE SO GREATFULL…
MAYBE ITS JUST ME BUT HE LOOKS LIKE HES BORED
Hello… I got one of these for christmas and right out the box when I
connect the (charged) battery to the drone, it does not power the drone
unless i fidget with the wire first, and usually the power usually cuts off
after 15 sec or so of use due to the wires not being positioned
correctly… help please?
Camera is not HD quality but merely 640. Not bashing it for that, just
that the title of this video is misleading.
I got this a few days ago and I love it! The only problem I have is that
the footage I recorded with the camera looks fine until I fut it up on
YouTube where it stutters and looks terrible. Is there any way you can help
me?
Is it actually 1280×720? Because I haven’t seen a video were it actually is
in 720p except this one, so did you just scale it up to 720p?
+TaleTellingTom The standard Micro Drone 2.0 comes with a 640×480 camera.
Yeah it doesnt look 720p, more like 360, maybe 480
How can you replace the blades of this quadcopter? I can’t find any
instructions…
pull them out, it’s under pressure
Fantasy author Tanith Lee predicted these in the 1970s. She called them
bees. They were a bit larger and you could use them to send messages or as
a wallet or small purse. They could run simple errands and take movies and
photos. The narrator of her story had a faulty one that would fall on her
head at the least opportune moment.
Just get a Hubsan Q4 nano or Hubsan X4, much cheaper (lighter on the
pocket!), smaller size (Q4 is the smallest production quadcopter in the
world apparently)
That would be an inexpensive intro into the world of quadcoptering!
Then if you like it, look into the Blade quadcopters :-)
I get suckered into these types of videos Thanks for posting it… I
started to do videos too, but never know if I can measure up to the better
stuff out there lol!
Tohle je fakt pěkný, škoda jen toho ovládání, chodit to přes mobil neváhám
ani minutu….
I WANT TO JOIN YOU. CAN I JOIN YOU
AND I WANT MORE
it`s very nice video i like very much but also i would like to know the
price
+adrien wilbois You can find it on sale in various places online from £59 +
postage with the camera.
Thanks for the video and excellent review.
Does anyone know if there are 3rd party vid cameras available for someone
who can solder, and/or mechanically mount to the $55.00 – $75.00 drones out
there? What I’m looking for is a 720p, (.9 mp), minimum, with the PCB and
hardware to mount it to a copter. If possible, it’d be nice if it came with
“real-time, wifi streaming” ability, (not likely, but ‘in a perfect
world’).
How do i make the drone hover in one place without it going up or down?
you should clean up that mess, dude…..

Nice
I carved one of these out of a block of balsa wood. Mine does more tricks,
has a better camera and my wooden battery never requires charging. Are you
guys hoarders?
+ratdvek HI What camera did you replace it with? I’m wondering if it’s got
enough lift to carry a GoPro for better video? I don’t need it to do stunts
with the gopro attached just to lift and stay stable.
This looks cool! I’m wondering if this has enough lift to carry a GoPro for
better video? I don’t need it to do stunts with the gopro attached just to
lift and stay stable for better aerial photographs/video.
Fair enough! Cheers for the honest answer!
HAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahaha no way. There is no micro drone that has yet to be
invented that has enough lift to carry a GoPro. I wish there were just as
much as you.

How does it fly in the wind? What’s the range? Probably should have
included that in the review. To much detail on things no one really cares
about..and mostly indoor flight. Lame :/
